Are any of you out there?
Where are you staying?
Ever been that week?

We are leaving May 31st(Memorial Day) and returning June 6th. Staying at the BWV. I've never been to WDW in June and I'm wondering how the crowds compare the first week in June to other months.

Thanks in advance.

I will be at the BCV during that timeframe. Look out to all that hate me here.

We went that exact week last year. This year we go one week earlier.

It is a fantastic week to go, crowds are low because most of the schools are still not out and the summer heat has not kicked in yet.

A perfect time to go. Have a great time.

You are going to be there during Gay Pride Week, I would suggest you find out the schedule of events and zig while they are zagging. The event brings in over 100,000 guests from what I understand.

you sure it is not the week after? It was last year.

I read somewhere it was June 3, 4 , 5, & 6th. It usually is the first week in June.

We went in the first week of June last year and we'll be repeating the trip again this year.

The crowds were very manageable for most of the week, but picked up on Friday and Saturday as "Gay Day" festivities kicked in. Each day, the gay tourists mostly congregate to a single theme park. So, if you have young children and want to avoid any uncomfortable situations, all you need to do is avoid that park and you won't really notice anything except that the crowd level has increased -- since many other families are also avoiding the Gay Day theme park as well. (Go to www.gayday.com to obtain their schedule of events.)

The weather was about 88-90 degrees each day and it rained in the afternoon or evening about every other day.

This year will be our first at our new home at the Boardwalk and we are mirroring your dates with an offset of 1 day (May 30 - June 5).

Whatever you do, avoid the Magic Kingdom on June 5th -- it will be packed!

We'll be there, staying for the first time in an OKW 1 bedroom. This is the week for GayDay's at Disney, and most participants go to the different parks on the scheduled day. If you want to avoid the crowds, enjoy a different park than the one scheduled each day. It's a great week to be at Disney so have fun!

Here's a link to the schedule, and a short list for those who don't wish to check the web site.

Thurs. 6/3 - AK
Fri. 6/4 - MGM
Sat. 6/5 - MK
Sun. 6/6 - Epcot

we will be arriving in Orlando May 28th @ 7:30 P.M and staying @ OKW, and leaving to go home on the 31st @ 6:00 P.M! NOT the perfect trip as far as I"m concerned but the rest of the family is happy with it! I"ll feel better about our winter trip for two whole weeks! And from what I hear the parks are unbearable Memorial day weekend!

We'll be there 5/28-6/5 at the SSR. Going to Disney the first week in June has somehow become our family tradition to celebrate the end of the school year. We have been to Disney many different times of the year and this week still remains our favorite. THe crowds are lighter and the humidity is not too bad.

We'll be there offsite at the Marriott Grande Vistas from May 30th to June 12th with DH's family for a total of 11 Hawaiians :wave2:

Then our family moves to BWV from June 12 to the 19th :hyper:

Starting to get really excited about this trip. This is our first time traveling with DH's family and first WDW for our little 5 month old princess:

Wishing us all great weather and wonderful memories!!

I will be at the parks from 5/25 until 6/2 but staying off property. I always spend my birthday with Mickey (527 in case anyone wants to send gifts)
I was running low on points because of my son's honeymoon and I wanted to save some for later this year so I bid on an off property room. $42 for Doubletree (the one with the big pineapple, not the DTD one.
Not going to the members stuff, too much money for not enough entertainment in my opinion. I can't understand why they are only taking $50 off the price if you have an AP since each day pass cost around $55. And I have done all the rides before, I don't need to do a night at the parks and pay extra.
Memorial Day weekend has always been crowded, and this year with the members stuff I expect it to be worse than last year. The days before the weekend are ok, and the Tuesday after gets slower but the weekend is always very crowded. Expect waits of 90 min or more for the mountains etc. I remember last year Splash Mountain had a wait of over 2 hours during the weekend.
Didn't plan my week around "gay days", but I dont think being there during that time would bother me, but some do feel uncomfortable with their children and some of the goings on. YOu have to decide for yourself and plan accordingly. Peggie

We are from CT too!!! Where abouts are you from in CT? We are in Fairfield County.

How bad are the crowds during Gay Days? We've planned a short week-end trip and are planning on going to Epcot on 6/6 for the Flower Fest. Looking at the gayday schedule, Sunday is Epcot day. We won't have kids with us, so that's not an issue, I just hate crowds.

This week has evolved into a tradition for us as well, since our school calendar changed a few years ago. Our last day of school has been the Friday before Mem. Day for the last few years, then the school board decided to take away a few days here and there(mainly my favorite break in Oct.) and make our last day a full week before that(May 21)for this school year. Unfortunately, Mother nature did not like our plan: we are making up snow days the week after the 21st, so we are headed to WDW the week of Memorial Day again. In years past, I did see a dramatic increase in crowds later in the week(towards the gayday Saturday). I didn't think Mem. Day itself was too bad, but we never went to MK that day, either. We are taking several extra teenagers with us this year, as well as 3 other families with young children. We will be leaving on Friday, June 4, mostly to avoid the crowds. I have advised everyone of the expected crowds on June 5(half of our group will be at oKW, and the rest of us at BWV). If I remember correctly, Disney slipped a little note under our door last year mid-week advising us that the upcoming Sat. at MK was expected to have larger than usual crowds(they did not say why), and that Disney would be opening the other three parks early for our "enjoyment" on that day. While we generally like visiting WDW this week, we all still prefer early Oct.
