Counter Table - Don't know yet
Table Service - Don't know yet

What should I NOT order off the menu from these restaurants?

More importantly, what was the yummiest, most mouth watering thing you ate at one of these restaurants?

Look forward to your responses! Is anyone else hungry! :worship:

At Cinderella's Royal Table (Breakfast), DH LOVES the stuffed French Toast.
Columbia Harbor House, the Clam Chowder.

Rose & Crown, the Mushroom Medley

For a Resort Restaurant Dinner (splurge), Citrico's or CA Grill.

Yum!!

mmmm looks like youll need some TUMS :) WHY oh why do they have to have such great food choices?

Eat clam chowder at columbia house.

The only choice I think youll be dissapointed with is Donalds... EW double EW
Its such a generic breakfast for such a high price. Youd be better off eating at FRESH and then proceding to EPCOT that day.

If you could do the counter service at one of the countries in Epcot World Showcase would be much better than Electric Umbrella and Liberty Inn.blech

I would definitely agree. I would suggest either the Yakitori House at Japan or the Tangerine Cafe in Morroco.

I totally agree. Those two places are generic American food like you'll find in your hotel food court.

In Epcot there are lots of good counter service places in WS-- one of my favorites is Cantina de San Angel in Mexico. Their combo platter is EXCELLENT if you like Mexican.

Another vote for this option!

At CHH, we especially like the vegetarian chili, clam chowder, lighthouse sandwich, and anchors aweigh sandwich, although everything we've had there has been good.

At Sci Fi, stick with burgers, fries and shakes.

Others may disagree, but in four visits we've always enjoyed both the food and the character interaction at Donald's.

Another vote for Yakitori House (delicious!) over the Electric Umbrella!

And I also agree with Kaycee about Sci Fi... I love the atmosphere, but the more unusual items tend to not be as good... burgers, fries, chicken fingers, shakes are all good!

Resort Suggestions:
CS - Beaches & Cream, Roaring Forks, POR Food Court, Earl of Sandwiches

Sit down - Kona's, WC, Concourse Steakhouse, GF Cafe, Boatwrights, Ohanas

Buffets - Cape May, Chef Mickey's, Trails End

Menus:
www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm

You might want to think about some of the wonderful locations at EC:
CS - Tangerine Cafe, Yorkshire Fish & Chips, Sunshine Terrace,
Sit Down - with children Oktoberfest, Mitsokoshi Teppenyaki, Le Cellier, Matsumona Lounge (same food as restarants but with a great view and no PS required)

A good tip is do sitdown restaurants for lunch as it is pretty much the same menu as dinner but lower prices.

Also you might want to rethink Tony's recent reviews have not been very good.

Sci-fi is great, as long as you don't order anything more complicated than a burger. Shakes (though expensive) are very good as well - so are the onion rings. It's a great enviornment, they just don't do well on the fancier dishes. If you go during dinner, burgers aren't on the menu - but they will let you order them. :)

I'm a big fan of the Electric Umbrella - it's burgers/chicken fast food, but it's very tasty and fresher than at other places. It also doesn't get big crowds during much of the day because it's so close to the park entrance. Liberty Inn is much the same - I'd try one or the other, though, as both carry virtually the same menu. That is, unless you like that type of food - which I do :). Sometimes I don't want creative or unusual, I just want good old American fast food.

One restaurant that's not on your list that I highly recomend is the Brown Derby at MGM. It's classy, has absoultely delicious food, and is really a treat - it's really the best in any of the parks, in my opinion. Even better if there are people in your party old enough to recognize the portraits of James Stewart, Joan Crawford, Lucille Ball, etc. Just the delicous hot bread is enough to give this place a try. Take a look at the menu over at AllEars and see if anything jumps out at you - I am going for five days next week and have two lunch PS's there I love it so much.

Sounds like you've got a great plan! Here's to good eating at WDW!

We are big fans of Donald's and have gotten great food ,service and characters there.
We also really like the CRT.
At MK however, I would choose LTT over Tony's.
My pick for the free day would be Ohanna's
The only true terrible food we have ever gotten at WDW has been at Yakitori. Go figure!!

Saturday:
Counter Service - Pecos Billgood choice.... we LOVE the fixin's bar at Pecos Bills!
Table Service - Tony's Town Square This restaurant just doesn't do it for me. I think it is more the service than the food, but I can't really recommend anything that particularly stands out for us. We liked the breakfast here when they still had that meal offered. I would recommend Liberty Tree Tavern for either lunch of dinner, instead!

Sunday:
Table Service - Cinderella Royal Table Never been here... the menu just didn't appeal to us. If you are going for breakfast, Congratulations! You have scored a major point by getting up early and actually getting through!
Counter Service - Columbia Harbour Houselove the salad with the Chicken...deliciious. Also, if you can get a table upstairs in the dining room that goes over the walkway from Liberty Square to Fantasyland, it is really cool to watch everyone walking by while you are eating. Also, if you are into sweet iced tea, this is one of the only places that serves it!:)

Monday:
Counter Service - Flame Tree BBQGood BBQ, nice outdoor seating areas, as long as it isn't too hot!
Counter Service - Tusker House--- This is our FAVORITE counter service in all of WDW! Love the Balsalmic Vinigrette Chicken Salad, the rotisserie chicken with green beans and mashed potatoes. The only thing I don't recommend here is the fried chicken sandwich... dry and looks processed. I do have one question... when are you going to fit in both of these counter services? Tusker house stops serving around 3 pm, & Flame Tree BBQ around 4 pm... the park, depending on when you are going, will either close at 5 pm or 6 pm.

Tuesday:
Table Service - Donald Breakfastosaurus-- have heard that the characters are alot of fun, and if you like Donald Duck, this is the place to be! The food is OK.
Counter Service - All Star Movies Resort--- we liked the selections at this food court... something for everyone, and the theming is really cute!

Wednesday
Table Service - Princess Storybook Breakfast-- Norway, Akersus--The girls will enjoy the Princesses. The food is pretty good, especially the cheesy potatos!
Counter Service - Electric Umbrella--- pretty standard fare for counter service... sometimes difficult to find a table

Thursday
Counter Service - Liberty Inn--Pretty much the same food you will find at Electric Umbrella. I would be adventurous and try one of the counter service restaurants in one of the other pavillions instead. We like Japan.
Table Service - Rose and Crown--We aren't hugely fond of English pub food, but the fish and chips are pretty good. Love the Stella Artois beer.

Friday
Table Service - Chef Mickeys--crowded, loud, but the kids will love it. Breakfast buffet is pretty good.
Table Service - Sci-Fi-- Drive In type food including burgers, fries and milkshakes (now these are definitely worth going there for), pretty pricey for what it is, but the kids think it is great. The same clips over and over do start to get old after awhile, though! Guess that is how they clear the tables so more guests can get seated ;)

Saturday (This is our whatever day - I would love to visit a resort restaurant on this day - help !
Counter Table - Don't know yet You have pretty much hit all of the counter service restaurants I would recommend, so you are on your own for this one!
Table Service - Don't know yet How about 'Ohana at the Polynesian? LOVE it... so will the kids. They have coconut races, hula hoop contests, everyone is your cousin and the food just keeps coming! Nice view of the MK, if you are lucky to get a table by the window. It is a great sendoff for a great vacation!

It sounds like you planned a terrific trip!

I second the recommendation for counter service in Epcot and to choose between the electric umbrella and the liberty inn. As mentioned in previous posts, the counter service in Mexico is always excellent. For a unique but delicious hot dog, you might want to try the patisserie in France, or you may want to try Fish and Chips in England. These were the CS restaurants that we visited on our last visit and the food was very good. Other countries also had similarly intriguing options, however, I cannont comment on the food quality.

As for your MK options, I too prefer Liberty Tree Tavern over Tony's. I prefer the food (even though I love Italian food) and LTT seems like a better value. If you want a character meal, dinner is fun and Minnie, Pluto, Goofy, Chip and Dale make the rounds repeatedly during your meal. I also really enjoy the Clam Chowder at Columbia Harbour House.

I wasn't sure if you wanted other resort counter service recommendations for Saturday. If so, the food court at Pop has a large variety. There is a grill with burgers and hot dogs; an Italian counter with pasta and chicken selections, and another counter where I think you can get sandwiches and homestyle foods. I also like the food court at POFQ. DH and I loved Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney. Both the DH's sandwich and my salad were excellent. I would recommend Earl of Sandwich over the food courts at POP and POFQ.

For a sit down restaurant at a resort, I would recommend Jiko, California Grill, and Flying Fish (not specifically a resort restaurant, but close). Another alternative if you have a car would be the Italian restaurant in Celebration. I think it is called Cafe D'Antonio. We didn't really care for the Blue Zoo (even though we are big fans of Todd English's Olive's) or Palio, the Italian restaurant in the Swan. Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any questions if you have any. Enjoy your trip! :flower1:
