Hello all

I am planning a huge trip for my entire family...... Myself, DH, Princess Daughter age 5, both of my parents, my twin brothers and their wives, and my grandma so a total of 9 adults and 1 child. :grouphug:

We are planning on coming down Thanksgiving Morning and staying until the Following Sunday so a total of 10 days.

I know Thanksgiving weekend will be extremly busy but what I was wondering was how were the crowds Sunday thru the following week.

Any info would be greatly appriciated. I just want a better idea so I can be prepared. We took a trip last October (3rd week) and were  surprised at the crowds because we were thinking it would be very slow.

Also what was the weather like this past week.

Very happy with that week, crowds will be down and weather nice.Plus all the holiday decorations will be up.So you could do a MVMCP,a CP and check out Osborne Lights with that long of stay.Temps at that time of year are low to mid 70's and lows in low 60's high 50's.That said temps can very from day to day from very hot to very cold,so it's always good idea to pack clothes you can layer at that time of year. :goodvibes :wave2: :wizard:

Got back about 5 hours ago. Wow am I tired! We spent 2 weeks in Disneyworld - Monday 11/21 thru today. We did just about everything - Cirque, MVMCP, Illuminations Cruise, Family Magic Tour, Osborne Lights. What a grand time to go!

There is a HUGE difference between Thanksgiving weekend crowds and this past week. The crowds were so low compared to last weekend, the weather was beautiful (you need a jacket at night though) and the parks are all decorated to a T. We've already decided that we're going to do the week after Thanksgiving again next year.

We did stand by for TWO candlelight processionals and got seats right behind the reserved section both times...didn't need fastpass for anything really. Saw most of the Christmas stories around the World showcase.

The only thing that was crowded was Thursday night's MVMCP - I would NEVER waste my money on that again.

Thank you all so much for your replies...... Keep em coming...... Now I am starting to get excited..... I just have to contain it for another 11 months....LOL

We got back on Wednesday night from a week at Disney. We arrived Thanksgiving afternoon and went to MK. I didn't think the park was as crowded as I had expected. But I heard that the Friday after at MK was packed, wall to wall people. We didn't go back to MK until Monday and it was very nice. Not much wait. Tuesday was wonderful! Even though it was raining a little, we didn't have to wait to go on anything!

Saturday we headed over to AK and had to wait for some of the rides. We didn't go on the safari as it would have been between 1 & 2 and we knew the animals wouldn't be very active.

I would definately go again during that time period next year and probably go a few days longer so we could relax.

Just back last night from 9 days in the World and the crowds were GREAT!! We rarely had to wait for anything. The longest wait was about 25 mins on Buzz once and Im not sure why. That was on Monday at MK. The other times we either walked onto the rides or had about a 10 min. wait. Our MVMCP was on Tuesday pm and we even stayed on BTMR and SM and rode them over and over because there was no one to reload with. Amazing! This is a great time to go. We arrived on the day after Thanksgiving and had our first park day on Sunday the 27th at AK. No long waiting there either. The longest was probably Primevil Whirl with about 15 mins. The weather was nice and warm the first part of our trip with us wearing shorts, but Tues it rained and was yucky during the day, clearing up about noon, and after that a cold front came through and it was jeans and short sleeve shirts. Our last night on Friday we had on long shirts and jackets with gloves, but overall great weather. Kids swam the first few days of our trip.

Wow.... I am feeling so much better about the trip. The cooler weather does not bother me much in fact I would rather it be cool then extreme heat.

Is there anything that you would recommend we do or wish you did and on the turn around are there things you wish you would not have done?

Got home late last night from 9 days starting T'giving day. We did not go to a park on Thanksgiving. EMH at MK was amazing on Friday 11/25. We walked on to everything in Fantasyland then walked on to Frontierland and Adventureland. Then we booked out of the MK to do some late breakfast and back for a swim. We came back for fireworks and I was surprised that the park was not that crowded. Saturday both 11/26 and 12/3 I thought was crowded. The rest of the week Sunday - Friday was pretty empty.

We are also just back from last week and the crowds were awesome! So Awesome that we were thinking of doing exactly what you are planning for next year LOL :)

going out on Thanksgiving and coming back the following weekend! Avoid the parks on that first weekend until sunday :)

The weather was a little cooler than usual this year but pack a light coat and be ready for it if it happens again next year and you will be all set :)

popisme,
I too organized/planned a family gathering for a family of 10. We went last November. If you have any questions about how to keep everyone happy with such a large group, let me know. We all had a fabulous time and everyone was still speaking when we got back.

We all get along to begin with, but, with this scope of a trip and everyone's ideas, it was important to have a plan.

PM me if you have questions.

The Friday and Saturday following Thanksgiving are very crowded but after that the crowds get much more manageable.
