Quick Q about pin trading...

I am taking my DD to disney for the first time in May :yay:...she is 3yrs princess:. How many pins do you think I should get to start her out...I want her to have fun with this, but I have never done it before and dont know what a good starting point would be :confused3. Thanks for your help. pixiedust:

I would just let her pick a few that she really likes. Maybe one from each park? We got my DD a lanyard and a few pins when she was about three as well. We just get one or two each time we visit but she is not into trading... Doesn't want to give up any of her special pins:)

Just let her have fun with it. They are a bit pricey as well. And there are soooo many to choose from at the parks and gift shops. There is a great pin trader store at Down town Disney too.

For Our First Trip I Ordered Disney Pins On E-bay For About $40.00 I Got 20 Pins Gave Each Of My Kids 10 And They Traded Everyone Of Them For Some Really Nice Ones In The Park. I Felt It Was A Real Money Saver To Get Them Before Hand. Its True The Pins In The Park Are A Little Pricey.

I did this as well. If they buy them, they won't want to trade them.

Great suggestion about ebay...I am not sure if she will want to trade them or not, but I thought it would be cool to give it a try ;)

Thanks for all the help :cool1:

I would very strongly suggest getting locking backs for her pins as a LOST pin can turn a fun thing into a crying shame!
Those mickey backs may be cute, but not very secure. Been there, done that. Got the locking ones on ebay and worth every penny. My nieces used them without issue!

Hey Katie. We just keep bumping into eachother around here!

I definitely second the ebay idea as well as the locking backs. That way, you can lock the ones she doesn't want to trade.

On a side note, don't expect her to want to wear the lanyard, cause it gets heavy fast!! Plus it's scratchy! I got frustrated with the girls for not wanting to wear them....i guess some kids do, but mine are "primadonnas" I guess.

Anyway, I bought them these pin bags off Disneyshopping that are personalized with their names, and we just buy a few pins now when we go that relate to that specific trip, like year pins ( '07, '08 etc.), resort pins, and attraction pins. Like when they ride something for the first time they get the corresponding pin. It's fun! But they do add up quickly! :scared1:

Good luck though!!
