So here's the thing... we've decided to give a wdw trip to the family from Santa and was going to place a card or certificate in each of our stockings with it personally being labelled with eack of our names on it. I was going to go to Kinko's or Staples or wherever get nice card stock and do it up-also would like it to be a keepsake. But I am drawing a blank as to what it should say. I was thinking something simple stating in April 2008 this is your official... something something something. Has anyone every done anything like this?

A few years ago my husband and I took my Mom & MIL to Vegas for a christmas present, and what I did was I got them both small travel bags (the type you bring on the plane w/you) and filled it with all small travel size items for them to take, inside the bag I put a scroll that I made up on the computer "pack your bags..... " w/date/time/hotel name. They were thrilled, best present ever. Why don't you use the travel items Idea and put them in their stockings?

You can try making a super, duper invitation ... check out the Creative DISign boards. Here is the website from one of those talented designers, and they usually graciously customize if you ask nicely! :

Some other ideas picked up from this board are scavenger hunt clues (could be a way to work in the travel items mentioned above), the invitation written on a blank puzzle (you can buy at Michaels or AC Moor) and a different piece in each stocking.

This will be an awesome gift and I bet you willl have a great time putting it together!

That's sounds good! I will do that with the autograph book and stuff for the trip. I was just trying to think of something to write on the scroll. Maybe a poem? maybe something to the twas the night before christmas? I don't know.. I'll figure something out. Thanks for the travel ideas though. Maybe in little suitcases.

I think they have personalized disney bags on Disney Website, that might be a good idea, fill w/things for your vacation (will save you from having to pick up anyway!!) You are going to have such fun being creative!!

Write it, in a handwriting they won't recognize, on the first page of an autograph book for the parks, and sign it "Love, Santa".

Oh, but you were wondering what to say. How about:

The magic of Christmas lives in special people like you,
But there are places that have magic all the year through.
So, like all the other lucky boys and girls
Pack your bags in April 2008 to go to Walt Disney World.

(If you're going to have the plane tickets, park tickets, and hotel reservations already made, add the following to the poem)

Now, tell Mom and Dad not to be lazy.
You can't go without tickets; that would be crazy.
A box wrapped in red is under the tree.
I have taken care of everything, you will soon see.

I didn't think it was THAT bad of a poem. I just threw is together in about 5 minutes. I can do better...

JodyTG I like what you've done so far, and would love to hear your better!

We are also giving our kids a trip to Disney for Christmas this year (Poly in Jan. 08). I am planning to wrap up some Tshirts that I am making that say "for Christmas My Mom and Dad gave me the World!" With holiday artwork of Mickey and Minnie (thanks DIS Creative Board!) and letters from some characters that explain that their gift is a trip. My kids are young - 4 and 7 currently, so I'm going to fool them (evil Mommy!) by letting them open all of their presents first, then say "I thought there was one more gift? Did we forget something??" Then we will give them the huge box (we will tell them when they ask before Christmas that it is for their cousin) that has many smaller boxes inside with the big payoff at the smallest box. This gift is from us, not Santa!!

So, after all of that, if you have any great poems to include I would be thrilled to hear it!! :wizard:

In the spirit of "Night before Christmas" here is my feeble attempt.
-------
T’was the night before Christmas and all through the house

Several creatures were stirring, even Mickey Mouse.

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

And carefully filled by the paws of Pooh bear.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of magic, danced in their heads.

And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,

Had just settled down when we heard a tap tap.

We rushed to the door to see who was tapping,

And found an invitation to see a great happening.

It was signed, “Merry Christmas to you! And enjoy your magical stay,

Santa thought a Disney trip, would make this Christmas, a magical

day.”
......Love, Santa

I reall like both of the last 2 ideas. Maybe you could give each of them a different section of the poem or do it like a treasure hunt.

these are awesome! Thanks so much, I'm going to try and do a bit of both.
