of course it would be so lovely if you got paid tonight for staying home...

i'll think about the food places.
i have been to so many and all have something unique about them.
have you considered coral reef?
i have been there 3 x's and all were wonderful.

i know exactly what you mean when you said he should not be locked up.
he doesn't want to be like that, he has a brain disorder and needs medical treatment not jail.

hope you all are surviving the storm tonight.
our power went off once earlier this evening and i am sure it will happen again.
it's been stated for our area that if power goes out again, it could be out for 12 hours.

that means i can't use the computer.......

Snow day here too.. DH is working from home.. DS17 is out with the gf once he shoveled the driveway..

even Woodfield is closed today.. so no work anywhere..

BTW i did not book the June 2012 cruise.. but the time I got things worked out.. the price had gone up and i cannt afford it.. oh well.. maybe i can do the girls trip in late sept 2012 instead.. HEAR that MAC??? Girls trip 2012!!!

Restuarants I have heard wonderful things about Narcaoosis(SP) but never been there.. DH and I do the anniversary dinner at either LeCelllier or Kona Cafe..both are excellant.. although DH loves Coral Reef.. and he doesn t like fish but maintains they have the best steaks..

Hello friends! I hope everyone is doing well! Not much new going on around here. I'm still looking for a full time job. I've been applying and applying but unfortunately, everyone is choosing someone else. DH is slowly recovering from pneumonia. The friday before valentines we went to the immediate care and they sent us to the ER, so we had canceled our v-day plans. The doc made him stay home from work for a whole week well, he was starting to feel a little better so we went and saw gnomeo and juliet yesterday for a belated valentines day! he's back to work today though the doc said his recovery could take up to 6 weeks... who knew pneumonia was that rough... i do now!

Anywho, I'm trying to think of new things to do for our upcoming trip to the motherland. We are trying a couple new-to-us restaurants and the unDISCOVERed future world tour but planning wise, I haven't done much and I really want to do something... any suggestions? In other news, unemployment has inspired me to work on my scrap book from our engagement trip back in 2008.. I'm a little behind but now that i have time on my hands, hopefully, I can get caught up!

Well, I hope everyone is doing well around here. Anyone going to the motherland soon?

then over to the darkside for a week stay.

Hi everyone! I need your help! I am looking for a bag/purse for our next trip to the motherland. I usually take a drawstring backpack for the parks but I really am wanting to be hands free for the most part. I had to take it off everytime I sat down or got on a ride and I just don't want to do that anymore. I've heard the baggallini zip and go is nice or a Vera Bradley hipster. (I am looking for a thin cross body strap). My problem is... I can't find any where in the orland park area that sells either of these. Anybody have any suggestions?

Hi everyone, I am unable to sleep. It is Thursday morning. Yesterday I had to go out to drop off my denture to be fixed since it cracked in half. On the way home I stopped off at the jail house to drop off some mail for DH. I was told that he got his bail money and that he bailed out Tuesday afternoon at 11:30

Now I am so frightened. Please do not write me off as a drama queen. None of you saw the rage in his face before he was arrested. No one saw the hate in his eyes. I have been trying to get it together to get a divorce started plus take care of other things that have been arising. I am in constant pain due to my ulcer sores on my legs being broken open. Another long story won't go into it.

Right now though, again, I am not a drama queen I fear for my life. With DH out and free who knows what he will do? I know he wants revenge. I know he is not in his right mind. I have my 16 yr old daughter and of course my 2 month old grandson in this house. I am not that strong. Yes, granted my 30 yr old daughter is here too, but she recently started a job at the nursing home up the road and works the graveyard shift. I feel like a sitting duck all alone trying to protect myself and DD, plus my grandson.

After I drop DD off at school I have plans on going to this place called Anna Bixby Agency or something like that. They claim they can help me get an emergency order of protection, and then a public defender to get my divorce started. Meanwhile I am afraid to leave the house for fear of him destroying it or stealing something. Yet, I am also afraid to be here alone. The cops told me since we are still married it is marital property even though the house is only in my name. So if he does do something they can not do a thing to stop him.

The cops exact words were he could bust out all of the windows and they can not do a thing since half of the house is technically his. How fair is this? I have no protection. Even with the order of protection once I get it there is nothing to stop him before the cops get here. I guess I am writing this just in case something just happen to me. Then someone will know who was to blame. Here again none of you would be aware if it happened. I feel so vulnerable. So frightened. I can not sleep. I feel like I have to be on guard to try to protect my family. I keep praying. When is this all going to end? I am not a bad person, I do not deserve this.

DG ~ Did you check out Merle Norman in Frankfort? The Vera Bradley website says they carry the bags there. Also, don't know how you feel about handmade bags, but my mom makes some that are similar to the Vera bag, and she could probably do a hipster too. She will be at the Andrew HS craft show this weekend. If you want to send me a PM, I will get you her information.

Hi all!

I haven't been here on the DIS in quite sometime. It's been about a month since the last Chicago DIS posting- thought I revive it somehow.

I have been busy with my kids and life in general. My twins will be in high school this coming fall already! Time flies!
Been busy the last few months with getting my DD in the high school that would best suit her special needs. Same with my DS. Still fighting with the HS district, to get him in the HS that best suits his needs in my HS district.
Hoping all will end well with that situation.

My kids will be going back to school soon from spring break.

Also remodeling the condo.

Planning to go back to WDW when my DS is in marching band in HS!

I'll pop in to say "hi" too! I couldn't even find this thread the last time I went looking. Anybody on Spring Breadk in Disney? On a normal year we would have been and I am really having withdrawl. DS made the High School Baseball team - YEA!! - but that meant no spring break. OK...I adjusted to that but now there haven't been any games due to the cold! Hopefully, they can sneak some games in next week.

We are going to Disney in August for a quick trip between the end of baseball and the start of school. We were luck to get the ADR's we wanted. Trying some new places this year - Yak & Yet and LeCellier.

Who else is around to say hi?

Good Afternoon friends! long time no posts around here... Thanks Rosemarie for reviving us! I've been fairly busy recently. Still working at TDS, which I absolutely LOVE! still looking for a full time job, had a first AND second interview at a chiropractor's office. I go for a third interview on monday and am keeping my fingers crossed! Then we leave for the motherland on Thursday!!! I'm so excited! 7 night MK view at BLT! Also, I got a part time gig as an Independent Travel Expert for Mouseketrips but I won't get to start that until mid to late May as the gentleman who does training is on a Leave of Absence! I'm super excited about that job! So yeah... I'm hanging in there and keeping pretty busy. Also been hanging out on the Theme Parks and Attractions board alot! Lets see... what else... hmmmm I think that's about it! I hope everyone is doing well!

Hi guys! I'm still around. Isn't it crazy how busy life can get!! Been busy with the usual stuff...work, school, dance competition season has started for DD9, DD14 was in the school play so that has been CRAZY! Planning our trip "home" to WDW in June. Can't wait - we're down to 68 days!

We're on Spring Break now, have a meeting for course selection for DD14's high school tomorrow and going to the Museum of Sci & Ind on Fri. Thankfully nothing else is planned, wish it was warmer!!

Rose- best of luck on the HS stuff, we're entering that next year too with DD14.

momto1 - congrats to DS! Bummer on spring break but at least you'll have the Aug trip to look forward to before starting back to school.

disneygal - hope you have a GREAT trip!! Can't wait to hear about it when you get back. Hope to stay at BLT someday, just wish it wasn't so point expensive. Fingers crossed for you on the interview!

We're driving to WDW in June so anyone with tips, routes, pointers, etc please feel free to share!! It's our first drive as a family, thankfully we've driven to Hilton Head so the kids are used to long drives and they're pretty good.

Hi everyone. I'm pretty much just trying to survive. I have been sick for the last week and finally went to the urgent care today. I have a sinus infection. My son has strep throat but at least we start Spring break this week so it can be mellow.

I'm trying not to fall asleep during the day so I can actually sleep at night. I haven't been able to sleep at night, so get so tired during the day I've been taking cat naps that way and the cycle continues.

We are going to Disney World this July with my brother's family & my sister's family so 15 of us in all. My DH just started a job in Jan. so he's staying home and my mom is coming with us. We are driving down. Somehow I've become the "unofficial" planner. We were staying at Shades of Green but then I got a PIN code for free dining, so I really couldn't turn that down and moved over to Ft. Wilderness.

It should be fun since we get to have more character meals this way.

My daughter has decided to get back into ice skating so signed up for their spring ice show too. It will be a bunch of running around in the next month or so between rehearsals for that and her & my youngest are in a Musical Theatre dance class too & have a spring recital. That will be interesting. LOL.

I HOPE that is not the case for me. I hope this one round takes care of it. I haven't been this knocked on my bottom from being sick in I don't know how long. I hope you are feeling better soon and this next round works for you.

Yes, I like the 2,000 driving thread, lots of helpful ideas and things. Not that I contribute a whole lot since compared to a lot of those drivers I'm still wet behind the ears.

Hi! I'm going down to WDW a week from today! I'm going for Spring Break, even though I'm not in school and don't have kids. I'm going with my friends from Indy, for their Spring Break. They're driving on Friday, arriving on Saturday, and I'm flying down on Sunday. (This is a busy time at work and I really shouldn't be going, so I'm going to have to work from home on Saturday before I go.) We're staying at the cabins. It will be me, my friend, her husband, and their DD10, DS 7, DS5, and DD20 months. I've never been with kids before!

I saw irish dancer at the D23 screening of Bambi downtown on President's Day.

So excited for the trip! I've always wanted to go with the kids.

Becky - I "saw" you on the 2000mi thread too! We're driving for the first time. Do you take 57 through IL? We're debating between that and 65. DSis just did the 57 route on Fri and said gas/food was scarce. What do you do?
