Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Hello new friends and old friends

Erika You are most welcome here as any other lurkers.:flower3: Doorway to Dreams is obviously there to sell but it is a soft sell in my opinion. I would never have bought into it if the shoved it at me. They are not car salesmen. No offense to any car salesmen.;)

We saw Harry Potter tonight. WOW it was a good movie. It moved right along without any slow parts. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
I can hardly wait for the next one.

Ok who let fall in? Mac was it you? I need summer back please! :rolleyes1

Thanks for all the good thoughts for my mom's puppy - Penny :dog:
She was doing the same yesterday, but my mom is optimistic that she will get better:)
I will keep you updated - we see her tonight:goodvibes

This weather really is whacky isn't it?!?!
Technically....I should be wearing my gloves with this weather - that's nuts!!!! I haven't brought the gloves out, because people who don't understand my condition, will think I'm a crazy lady. If my hands start taking a turn for the worse, I"m going to have to wear them, and disregard how people are looking at me
My pool temperature is going down down down down :cold:
We do have a pool heater, but we are not using it this year, unless we really had to (like we are having a party).

erika - Very nice to meet you, and welcome to our thread:goodvibes
Please come by often - we would love to get to know you!!!!!:goodvibes
*A little about me........
I live in NW Indiana
I own a custom picture frame store minutes away from my home
My DH's name is Kevin, and he is an engineer and a volunteer fireman for our town.
I have 2 girls - Stephanie 11 and Katie almost 6.
I have 1 dog - Sophie and she is a Yorkie

To everyone else - :wave2: I'm sorry I"m not making individual comments, but I gotta get going to work. I would love to get alot done today, so I don't have to go in tomorrow.

Have a good day everyone!!!

Thanks again for the welcomes!

This weather is horrible. I can't believe how yucky this summer has been. We're going to make up swim lessons today and I have to get in with Megan. We usually just wear cover-ups over our suits, but I don't know about today. Yuck. Yuck. Yuck. At least the pool is indoor and heated.

I think we will go it then if it isn't a hard sell. If anything it will get us in the spirit (as if that is really a problem.)

:surfweb:

I'm having a quick cup of coffee and then off to work.
I have so so much to do, which is totally awesome!!!!
I'm just praying that this is not just a July thing, and it will be the start of me having more business all the time {{fingers crossed}}
If it is, then I can start giving my employee more hours, and then I don't have to be there all the time. Plus...when my college employee comes home for Christmas, I can give her hours - which would be awesome for me!!!! I miss this girl so much. She came in to visit me yesterday, and I ended up having her help customers, because I got so busy - yesterday was a good day!!!!:)

Mac - :wave2:

erika - How was your swim lesson yesterday?

Well, I gotta run - the early I get to work, the earlier I get to come home.
Have a good day!!!

Slo I am glad you so busy:woohoo: I too hope it is a continueing thing.

Nothing exciting happening here. I hope Bunchy and family are having a great vacation.

Erika I hope you had fun swimming inside it would have been pretty chilly out.

Mac I hope this means we will have a shorter winter ;) Since we are being cheated on summer.

Good Sunday Morning Chicagoland Homies........:goodvibes

this will be quick as i have to get ready for church.
I'll have your backs covered for the week.....:thumbsup2

slo:
crossing my fingers, eyes and toes that the success continues throughout the coming months!!

Hersey:

bite your tongue....
the law of the homie land states that anyone wishing for a mild shorter winter will make the odds reverse.....

you see what happened to summer here....:rolleyes1

Hi guys! Just a very quick drive by. :car: Need to hop in the shower before taking DD12 to camp. She's going to Girl Scout camp out by Rockford so it'll be a trek for us.

slo - so glad you're busy and hope it continues for both you and your employees who would probably like the extra hours too!

mac - thanks for covering our backs, was at a graduation party last night so couldn't make it then and with all the last minute camp stuff this morning is tough too.

erika - hope you had fun at swimming lessons, be thankful they are inside. My neighbor's daughter is on a swim team and they've had outdoor meets in this lovely weather. They swim as long as it's above 59 degrees - yikes!

Well the clock is chiming so I'd best get a move on. Have one hour to be ready to head out the door. Have a great Sunday everyone!! :flower3:

Swimming yesterday was cold. The pool itself was heated but getting to and from the pool was a little chillly. The girls and I were wearing our suits and coverups because it is just easier than trying to dress in regular clothes. Plus we only live a few minutes from where the lessons are. Megan and I usually have her lessons while Mary and Shannon are at camp so it was a lot of fun for them to see her "swim."

We're having out of town guests come on Tuesday for 8 days so we've been trying to straighten up the house a bit today. It is break time now though while the guest bed sheets are in the washer.

Slo- It is always nice to hear about businesses doing well or at least perking up in this economy! I'm glad for you.

Hersey- I'd be happy with a shorter winter too, but I'm afraid it is going to be a longer one.

mac- Thanks for having our backs. We're bad church goers which is pretty pathetic as our kids go to a Catholic school.

irishdancer- I assume the camp is overnight? That sounds like fun. Mary is in Daisy's right now.

I was literally cold yesterday :cold:
Do you all think we'll have a hot August, or do you think this cool summer is how the rest of the season is going to be? Kevin thinks it's going to be blazing hot in August, and I'm thinking it'll stay cool all summer. It'll be interesting to see who's right :upsidedow

Have you all ever ate something that you knew was going to give you a stomachache, but you ate it anyway and regretted it? I did this last night - I ate a gyros. I love them so much, but they don't love me:sad2: I had such a stomachache last night, and I still have one today - it's like having a hangover from food:laughing:

Thanks everyone for your positive thoughts about my business keeping up. Kevin said to me the other day, "If business gets this better when the economy is showing signs of getting better - imagine how business will be when the economy is good?!" I sure hope this is true!!!! {{fingers crossed}} I will keep you all posted on how things continue.

Now, I must go and dye my hair - it needs it SO bad!!!!!!
I haven't had time to do it, and it really looks neglected
I'll feel so good when it done:)

Have a good day today everyone!!!

Good Morning to my fellow Chicagoland homies! :flower3: I hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I agree with everyone about the weather. man, i want summer to come around!!! Mike and I babysat my nephews last night. They are so stinkin' cute!!! they were very well behaved! Saturday, we just hung out all day. I convinced mike to help me with our WDW scrapbook from our last trip way back in April 08... I know, I should have had it done over a year ago:laughing: so yeah, i hope i can get it done before our trip in September!!

Erika ~ Welcome welcome!!:cheer2: so glad to have you here!

Slo ~ glad the biz is doing well! Hope Penny feels better soon. :wizard: How's Sophie doing these days?

ID ~ :wave2: hope your trek to Rockford went well!

Geffric ~ :wave2:

Hersey ~ glad you enjoyed Harry Potter! :thumbsup2 I really want to go see it again. I'm going to try and convince my dad to go with me. He had mentioned the other day that he'd see it eventually.

Mac ~ :wave2:

Everyone else ~ Have a wonderful day! Hopefully it will be a nice day!

Erika ~ Welcome! I am in the south suburbs, married with three kids, ages 15, 10 , & 7.

Slo ~ It is great to see your store picking up.

I for one am loving this cool weather. I hope it stays this way for the rest of the summer, but then I am afraid we may have a frigid winter.

We ended up taking my parents to Fish Company at the Bass Pro store in Bolingbrook. It was actually very good.

Had a Tastefully Simple party on Saturday, and it went awesome. My hostess is at just under $600 right now, with more orders still coming in. She also has 1 definite booking, with two possible ones. I am so excited, if I can keep getting bookings, I can not worry about having to find a retail job.

Hi gang! I had quite the productive weekend - vehicle emission test, flower finally all planted, stocked up at the bread outlet, washed and hung clothes on line, took cans for recycling and spend one night at the camper.

I want summer!!

Erika - Welcome! Come and visit often!

Slo - Great news on the store! Hope Penny is recovering.

ID - I bet your dd will have a blast on Girl Scout camp. I always liked to go because my cousins who I hardly ever got to see went to campt, too.

Geffric - That is the route we take when we drive. Hopefully it will be OK for you. Hope you have a great trip!

Piglet - Awesome party! Good luck on future ones.

Hi to everybody else.

Lori

Sorry I've been away! Been trying to catch up but between work and busy weekends it's been a bit crazy!

Erika ~ Hi there! Welcome and I look forward to getting to know you:). I live in Niles w/ my DH Mike and I have a step daughter who is 12 named Meghan.:cutie:

So last week Meg was with me inthe am's. She went to Pirate Camp at the Field Museaum and really enjoyed it. It was fun having her with me in the mornings and I truely missed her today when I drove in. :lovestruc We had alot of good laughs listening to The Mix in the am but I gotta tell ya a couple of times I needed to switch to 780 or 720 cause the conversation, although funny to me, at times was a little to raunchy for the morning and for a 12 year old:scared1: We laughed it off and turned it into a lesson learned conversation but Jeeeze o' Pizza sometimes!

OK so I believe I told you all that Mike had gotten his annulment last month. We are/were very happy that whole process is over. It is very painful for all!:sad2: So now to the happy part! We have desided to have our church wedding in Ireland in December! :woohoo: We are going to Ireland with my parents the day after Christmas so we figured, to keep things small, we will have the wedding in my dad and grandparent's (RIP) church in the village he grew up in on New Years Eve:love:! The mass is going to be said in Irish except for the Our Father, the Prayers of the Faithful and the homily. It will be very intimate but I will wear my dress again:yay: but Mike will wear a suit. We are so lucky to be able to do this and really looking forward to it. My parents are going to Ireland in September or October and my mom is going to make the arrangements for me. I will have long list for her but she is psyched! I was laughing the other day cause the only thing that might throw a loop in things is if I became pregnant in the next couple of months!:cloud9: We would be thrilled mind you but it would be funny to have to get the dress let out. Oh well! Bring on the baby dust cause that would be a blessing!!

OK so nuff news from me! Hope all is well with everyone else!

Slo ~ Hope your mom's puppy gets better soon!

ID ~ You are on a roll! Love that you are teaching:thumbsup2 I took step dancing when I was younger but alas the coordination was not exactly there. Hmm it is there however after I've had a couple and I turn into the Queen of the Rings! Ha!:yay::yay:

gefferic ~ Happy trails and bon voyage!

Mac ~ Thanks for the listings and getting our backs at church!

HERSEY ~ We're going to see HP tonight! I so can't wait!

Hello to everyone else! Bring on Summer Pleeeease!!!:lmao:

Hi gang!!

Back from Disneyland!!

We got into town a little after 8pm last night.
We had a great time!!! The hotel was awesome! Hunter's b-day was the best. He really had a great day! And I met an awesome person I'll have to tell you about. It was really exciting for me!!! :goodvibes
I'll go into more detail soon with pics! Right now I'm trying to do laundry and put things away.

First thing we had to do when we got back last night was to check on DH's dad. He's by himself now in the house as MIL was moved to the hospice in-patient care unit on Sat. night. I won't go into details, but needless to say I don't think she'll be back in the house again and will be moved to a nursing home.

slo Hope your mom's new puppy is able to get better soon.
Tony loves gyros too, but they don't love him!!

geffric Hope you can get all your packing done!...and cleaning too.

Erika :welcome: to the Chicago thread!! Everyone is welcome here.
We always accept new 'members'.....we're working on the design for our 'member jackets'!!! :rotfl2: ;)

piglet The party sounds like it went really well. I hope you can continue to get more bookings!! :goodvibes

irish dancer Glad to hear your first classes went well!!!
And any time someone else cooks and cleans up is OK by me!! :thumbsup2

Gotta run!!!
Anyone looking for HEAT should come here!!!! :sunny:
I'll trade temps with you!! :worship:

And I met an awesome person I'll have to tell you about. It was really exciting for me!!! :goodvibes

ooo oooo.... did you meet johnny depp?!?!?! That'd be awesome! Can't wait to hear all about your trip and your meet! Glad you guys had a great time. Hope MIL and FIL are doing alright. :wizard:

i read in the chgo tribune how johnny depp left a $1000 tip for the waiter at the place he eats at in chitown.

next time he films in chitown, we need a chgo homie road trip to that restaurant he goes to frequently.
he said it is his favorite place in town.

Hi all - this is a quick drive by before my Leads Group :car:

Thanks again to everyone for their continued good thoughts about Penny :dog: My mom said she is doing much better, and I can hear in my mom's voice about how releaved she is about that. She is still not sleeping through the night, and cries like a colicky baby, but my mom is patient, and comforts her. Penny is in a good home!!!!:goodvibes

piglet - congrats on the successful party :woohoo:

geffric - Have a great and safe trip!!!:cool1: I can hardly wait to hear all about it when you come home!!!!

esbrick - That's great that Mike got his annulment, and how you can proceed with your church wedding :)

Bunchkin - I can hardly wait to hear who you met :yay:
**I'm sorry to hear about your MIL :guilty: Please keep us posted on her condition, and I will continue keeping her in my thoughts and prayers - hugs to you all!!! :grouphug:

Mac - That's an awesome tip he left $$$$. Did I tell you how Kevin got his autograph for me last year? If not, I'll tell you all, if I did, than I won't again. Kevin said he was very nice to him :)

To everyone else - :wave2:

I gotta run and get ready for my group - I"m not in the mood to go today

Have a good day!!!
