Calling all Chicago DISers #3

Slo I am glad Stephanie had such a great day with her dad. Yes it is difficult to let them go into bathrooms by themselves. You hear such stories thankfully most of them are just stories.

esbrick Have a great trip :thumbsup2

Geffric I need to go and lay back down now after reading your last couple of days. I hope you are able to relax this weekend.

Kim How have you been? Hopefully not too busy.

Bunchy You are still part of us so you need to come back here and chat!

Have a great day everyone:flower3:

Morning everyone! Is May over yet?:lmao:
esbrick, hope you are having a wonderful trip. And I don't think I have given you a proper welcome, so :welcome: aboard. Be sure to post lots of pix when you return.
Bunchkin, are you all packed up yet? Everyone is right, we will miss you much at meets :sad1:, but I am sure you will still pop in to visit with us.
Slo, how fun for Stephanie! I remember my first Indy race. Went with DH (then DBoyfriend) and friends. We were rained out on the Sunday and delayed til Monday-had infield seats and then fried in the sun on Monday. DH was so burnt, he missed work that week due to unable to put pants on.:scared1: The cars were so loud, I think I lost partial hearing that day.
Well, I best get a move on my day-haircut at 11. Kids to a B-day party at 1. Graduation to attend at 3. Then need to shop for groceries for the party we are having tomorrow for DD and DS with the family. I rented the park pavillion down my street. I am hoping we still have a beautiful day! And on Monday, hoping to go to Brookfield Zoo if the weather is nice.
Have a great holiday weekend everyone.

Hi guys! Keeping my fingers crossed the weather stays nice. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny but cooler. The inlaws are coming over for a bbq, got all the food I just hope it's warm enough to be outside.

Tiggerrn - wow, busy day! Hope you get it all done. I'm sure the party tomorrow will be great!

slo - glad to hear Stephanie had a great time. DH has been to races but none of the rest of us have. Maybe someday.....

geffirc - wow busy lady! Hope you have a chance to catch your break and put your feet up!

Bunchkin how are things going? We moved once and I told DH I never wanted to do that again, packing is a pain. I hope yours is going well.

esbrick - I hope you have a great trip...only 20 more days for us!

Speaking of trips, paint are you ready to go? It's getting close for you too!!

Well, I'm off to clean up the house in prep for tomorrow. Also want to start gathering things for vaca. Enjoy the great day everyone! :flower3:

Kim How have you been? Hopefully not too busy.
R U kidding? I'M not busy, Kelly is, which means I am, too. SHE is the one Doing, me and/or DH are the ones driving, coaching, co-leading etc. 2 ice skating sessions today totaling $26, including one instructor session. She got home after 10pm with her instructor, who lives across the street, thankfully! Sunday she has softball practice, and Monday she COULD attend a Memorial and Parade with Girl Scouts - but I had to say NO! She has something Tues-Sat of next week, so I had to say NO!! Then, we're into June. 2/3 of the month booked already.

When this girl actually ages out from me, I might get a life!!!

Matt graduates Friday night. :teacher: From Flashpoint Academy! :cool1: :yay: :woohoo:

Kim Isn't it sad that our kids have more of a life than we do? Take care. Kelly needs down time to just relax sometimes.

It looks like it is going to be a beautiful day. We are just going to stick around the house doing the usual and then grill later. Maybe just sit on the deck if I don't feel more like laying on the deck.;)

Tigg I hope your kids have fun today

Well off to start the laundry:laundy:

A pretty shocking day yesterday. We found out that a kid Kevin goes to school with (he is a senior) is charged with his 4yr old sister's murder. They were home with the 16yr old brother when it happened. It is believed Keith is the one who called 911, and the cops took him out of the house with blood on his clothes. We are finding it so hard to wrap our minds around the fact that this could happen. What could have caused an 18yr to kill his little sister. :sad1:

piglet-:scared1:That is crazy. You just can't even comprehend stuff like that. How sad.
hersey- Sitting? Laying? Don't you love tough weekend decisions?:rotfl2:
ID- I am sooo excited! I will have to pm you are adrs and plans soon. I don't have set days in set in stone for the parks. We have hoppers and make laters adrs for dinner at the emh park-head over for dinner then stay late.
Bunchy, Gef, esbrick, Dgal, Tig, Kim, Slo...Hi! Hope you're enjoying trhis weekend!
I have been working a ton-trying to pick up exta shifts for WDW money! This time, 2 weeks from now....:woohoo:Anyway, nothing super exciting here. School year winding down (no homework) and nice weather-can't complain! We have a wedding tonight then are going to my sister's tomorrow. Celebrating dd's bday early because everyone wants to give her money for WDW! I told them my birthday is in July, in case anyone felt generous! Also, dh is suprising me with a mysterious weekend getaway for our anniversary next weekend. One night, 2 hours away, should we guess? Better go shower and get the kids going. Later!

just so excited to talk to her about the motherland trip.....

it's a real shame that the people in the chgo area have to wait until they are at the motherland to visit.

i smell a meet geffric..!!

Kim Isn't it sad that our kids have more of a life than we do? Take care. Kelly needs down time to just relax sometimes.
Thanks Janice. That's why I've insisted, once again, that she take ONE WHOLE DAY OFF, from everything! That would be Monday. :thumbsup2 She slept until 10am again this morning! After only doing skating twice yesterday. :sad2:

We grilled tonight, and will again tomorrow.

I guess I need to do :laundy: too. SO GLAD I have Monday off with the family! :goodvibes

I hope you ALL enjoy your Memorial Day Monday and, if you have or know of ANY Veterans or active-duty servicemen/women in your lives - let them know WE CARE!! :grouphug: While Memorial Day may be for those who lost their lives fighting, I think we should memorialize those who are also serving, right now! :thumbsup2

MANY, MANY THANKS!!

That is positively horrifying Kirsten! [[HUGS]] to all!! How horrible! :sad1:

I SOOO hear ya!! And those other parents, in my case anyway, are working. I'm part-time so, on the days I'm off, I'm driving all their kids because they're working. The after-school stuff is everyone for themself tho! ;) We do have carpools for Monday night band, but it still means dropping off Kelly and picking her up from school - the drop-off point. It's always something! :rolleyes1

Have a wonderful Memorial Day everyone! :thumbsup2

piglet -- how awful! I had heard a brief thing on the news for it but I turned it off as I don't do so well hearing about such horrible things.

I am laughing about the kids being busy and not so much the parents. I used to hear older parents say they couldn't wait until their kids could drive & I never got that statement...until last summer. I was driving Carolyn all over creation. Not so much anymore as she isn't doing as much stuff but I certainly can understand it.

I'm so tired this morning & have a headache. I'm not happy about that as I had plans (nothing major, basically just cleaning but since we had no where to go today, would be a good day to get some major time hog stuff done.) Hopefully it will go away soon or I guess I can take the Excedrin Migraine and it will take care of it...I just hate to take it if I don't have to but it works on every one of my headaches. The headache isn't that bad but it's annoying.

Piglet I can't imagine what that family is going through.

Becky I feel like I might be getting a headache. I think it might be because of the rain that is on the way.

I hope the rain holds off until tonight after dinner. Maybe around 8:30 it could rain just so any noisey nieghbors will have to go inside and I can get some sleep.

I hope everyone has a safe Memorial day.

Thank you Becky & Janice, for sharing ;). I now have a headache. Took 2 Motrin about an hour ago. :headache: Not your fault, j/k. ;)

Sorry I haven't checked in since Saturday.
On Sunday and Monday I was having computer issues, and couldn't get online. This was fine, because Sunday I didn't feel good, and went back to bed (woke up with a headache), and then I took the girls summer shoe shopping (I"m so glad summer shoes are so cheap), and then I spent the rest of the day outside trimming bushes and picking weeds and leaves. Monday I worked all day. So, I've been keeping busy!!!!!

TTTTiiigggernnnnnn - What year was that race - do you remember??? I've only been to one race too (but I've been to the track a million times) and there was bad weather that year. I can't even remember if Kevin and I were married yet :scratchin I'm thinking about taking Stephanie to the race next year - I think she would enjoy it after enjoying her time on Friday. She did see the Indy Lights race Friday, but it's not the same as seeing the real race :car:

piglet - How sad, how very very sad!!!!!:sad1: Our town had a mother that killed 3 of her children about 3 years ago, and we all had a hard time with that too. These stories are always so sad when you hear them on the news, but when you know the family that it involves, it makes it a million times harder to deal with. So many prayers for that family!!!

To everyone else - :wave2:

Sorry this is so short, but I gotta run and get ready for my Leads Group at 7:30am. I really do enjoy this group - very nice people!!!! I hope I am able to generate some business through it {{fingers crossed}}

Have a good day!!!

Thank you Becky & Janice, for sharing ;). I now have a headache. Took 2 Motrin about an hour ago. :headache: Not your fault, j/k. ;)

:lmao:You're welcome! Mine went away....so I must have sent it over to you. I, of course, did take a super hot shower & took 1 Excederin Migraine to have it go away but it did.

Poor Kyle (the 9 year old) and he is already bored out of his mind. He asked if he could watch TV early. He threw up Sunday night & I just attributed it to too much junk food, he was perfectly fine all day yesterday until 8 pm after he had a piece of cake. Therefore I called him in. I'm hoping they aren't going to say he has to stay home for 7 days because there aren't even 7 days left of school. He isn't running a fever, no other symptoms of being sick...just randomly threw up but feels perfectly fine. The worst part is today is the speech ice cream party & he's going to miss it. Bummer! I was just thinking this child tends to always get sick around his birthday/this time of year. Very weird. Last year he missed the last day of school because he was sick. One year we had to cancel his party because he was sick.

Has anyone here done any private events at Disney? I'm thinking I might look into that for next year for my kid's birthdays. My niece is planning on getting married next year and it might end up falling right on Kyle's birthday (let's hope he doesn't get sick again!!!), which means his birthday will be shot down the tubes for next year but he's turning 10. So, I have one turning 16, one turning 13 and a 10 year old -- basically all milestone birthdays....so I was thinking of doing something since we probably won't get back to Disney for quite a long time after our next visit. DH wants to go to Yellowstone as the next vacation and my DD will be an adult by then so basically this is probably the last family vacation (she will be welcome of course but who knows with work/college how things will go).
