geffric ~ sorry to hear about eric's college fund.

bunchy ~ glad to hear FIL's house is looking good. does this mean the sooner you sell the place the sooner you get to come back to chicago???

Piglet, Kim, Tiggern, Hersey, mac, ID, and everyone else ~ :wave2: have a wonderful day!

Hi all. We lucked out only got a dusting of that horrible cold white stuff. Don't want to say the word in case it brings more our way.

Fighting the winter blues and money blues just like many other American's. Trying to stay positive sure takes a lot out of a person. Whew.

Just discovered yesterday that Wiertz Beverage Illinois has their own health insurance. The woman said they were independently owned. Not actually BC/BS
Which means to the best of my knowledge if DH does not return to work we will have to pay the company back all the money they paid on the medical bills.:faint:

They did specify that if he did not return any expenses they incurred we would have to pay back. I pray he is well enough and strong enough to return by the end of his medical leave of absence. Does not look good. Will have to wait and see.

As bad as the economy is and for as much as we'd be able to get for our house we would have very little if anything left if we had to sell the house to pay them back. :sad2: Here we go again. I guess. Oh well. Have to wait and see. Keeping up my faith sure is hard.

Time to hit the pavements and see what kind of work I can find. Can't depend on my books. Too risky. He spoke about going on SSI. Have to be off work for 5 months for that.

Hmm...not much to report today. Life is kinda boring right now. School work sleep repeat. Oh, I did submit my FAFSA last night. Exciting right? Hahah living the good life over here! Anywayy, Lost finale re-run is on so with no homework my dad and I are watching, Cant wait for the new season!!

irish dancer Glad to hear your DD liked Hanson Center. A few of my friends have volunteered there and enjoyed it as well.
Tiggerrn2 Thanks for the advice. I'm definitely enjoying these last few months of freedom before college and major responsibility. I am excited for college though!
disneygal922 Congrats on your wedding being so close! I'm totally going to read about your wedding planner! Dream of mine is to be married at Disney :cloud9:
Sk8Leigh Oh my gosh! I'm so glad your okay! That sounds to be so scary.
geffric I feel your pain on paying for college. My family is trying to figure out how we are going to afford it. I wish you guys luck on find a way to get the money to pay for college. I'm looking at a mountain of scholarship applications and a ton of loans too.
Stitchfans Good luck finding work! My mom just went through and thankfully got a job at Target pretty quick. I hope the same speedy process for you too!

Hawks game on and late start tomorrow! Till next time :)

KimRaye - congrats on the new ticker!! Tell us all about it!
11 nights! Longest stay ever! Can't wait! Got United airfare for $178.60 r/t each!!! :cool1: I don't know what to DO with myself and family for that long! I'll manage! ;)

eh..........i think your ticker is invisible........
s/b fixed

Glad to see you all again! I'll try to be around more now. :goodvibes
Leigh! So glad you're ok, on the mend! :goodvibes WOW, how scary!

my hand is bandaged up from a cut I gave myself at work today, and it's a challenge to type (not a bad cut - it's just in a bad spot)
Heal fast slo!!! :thumbsup2

Greetings to all!
 Donna!

1. KimRaye - what is the big news?? Spill the beans.LOL

2. of course it doesn't help that Alexis G and co lost over 1/2 his college fund.. love his ads.. telling people about the $77 million he got back.. doesn't mention that he lost over $150 million.. and that kids like eric don't have time to make money back...s..
1. see above. 2. We lost about 1/2 of Kelly's fund too. It's slowly rising back up again, only to regain our loss tho, no GAIN yet! Can't wait to see the 'partial' repayment we're supposed to see in March/April? :confused3:rolleyes:

Busy planning here! ;) Hope the new ticker works! :cool1:

Morning all!
KimRaye, very exciting to have that long! I would love that-finally enough time to enjoy the resorts/dining/water parks as well as the parks. Your ticker is just a red box for me.:sad2:
Leigh, so glad you were OK. That was some accident. You had an angel looking out for you for sure.
It was my DD that was in Nutcracker. :dance3: She had a good time. I was glad when it was over. Lots of running around. She actually got sick during that time as well, so we had to deal with that, as well as rehearsals.:headache:
Kids are gearing up here for ISAT testing. That is all the parents are hearing about. I hate ISAT time. Teachers teach to the test, but doesn't matter if the kid can't multiply or divide. They can use the calculator.
Good luck to all of you getting your kids or yourself off to college for visits and applying for assistance. I do not look forward to that. Thankfully, I have a little while to hope the college funds come back from the abyss.
Bunchkin, glad your DSIL finally did something helpful by taking the dogs. The least she could do after all the trouble she caused.
Slo, hope your hand heals fast.
Well, I'd better get busy.:laundy:and then heading over to my mom's to shred papers.:woohoo:Watched HOARDERS on Monday night and decided I have to get on that stuff over at her house or else call them in.:rolleyes1
Have a great day all-try to stay warm. It's a chilly one today. :cold::cold:

holy coldness batman!!! i know it's not the coldest day we've had but wow. it was a very long walk to work this morning! anyway, Good Morning Everyone! :flower3:

Stitch ~ continued:hug: and good luck with the job search. :wizard: hopefully you will be able to find something fairly quick!

Chell ~ congrats on submitting your fafsa. that's the first major step to going to college:goodvibes also, i have a link to my wedding planning journal in my siggy if you would like to see what i have done thus far. :)

Kim ~ congrats on the new ticker! Also, sorry to hear about kelly's college fund. hopefully, it will turn around soon.

Tigg ~ sorry to hear DD was sick during the Nutcracker:dance3: but i'm glad she had a good time!
I remember I always hated the ISATs. I'm terrible at standardized testing and we weren't able to use calculators when i took them.

everyone else ~ :wave2: have a wonderful day and stay warm!

it might be difficult for him to get SSI.
assets over $2000 will disqualify a person.

i've worked with SSI and SSA before, if i can help you let me know.

about the medical coverage, if the doctor states that your husband has not been released for work yet, the company will have to keep him on the rolls.

don't worry about paying back the medicals to the company.
find out from the company what is needed to extend the medical LOA.

have the doctor complete the required form and submit it to the company.

you should not have problems then.

and, when the time for him to return to work comes, as long as he does return, even for a short time period, there should not be any payback clause.

and a big hello to all my chicagoland homies out there!!

Hi guys! Yikes, it's cold out there! I can honestly say I HATE winter! ;)

Just home from another meeting at DSs school. He's having a tough patch and we seem to be spending more time reacting to issues rather than anticipating and avoiding them. Hoping things improve soon.

Leigh - wow, that looks like one nasty accident. So glad it wasn't more serious for you. Hope you're completely mended soon!

Donna - I saw Mama Mia a few years ago, loved it! Great show!
*GAD is the abbreviation I've seen used for the Give a Day, Get a Disney Day promo. We made blankets for Project Linus to earn a one day ticket for WDW, we're hoping to go in Nov. for Tgiving.

geffric - so sorry about the college fund, hopefully things will turn around and you'll be able to regain some of the loss.

Bunchkin - congrats on getting FILs house cleaned up, I'm sure it is a relief. Good to hear SIL at least helped by taking the dogs.

slo - how's the hand? I hope it's healing nicely.
* having your own business is tough, hope 2010 is a good year for you.
**Best of luck with the party, let us know if you can take online orders.

disneygal - how are the sinuses? I'm sure this cold must be hard on them.
*How's the townhouse shopping going?

Stitchfans - continued  for you. I agree with mac, you should look into extending DHs leave if he's not ready to go back to work.

MJ - congrats on getting your FAFSA done. I am so not looking forward to college stuff.

Kim - wow, great airfare!! We did an 11 night stay in 2005, it was GREAT. We had lots of down time and had a wonderful vacation except for the fact that it was August and hotter than he**.

Tiggerrn - I hear ya on the ISAT testing, they totally teach to the test which is a shame. DS has accomodations but it is still a struggle, should be interesting.

 to everyone else!

Time to put in some laundry and try to straighten up a bit, it looks a bit like a cyclone went through here. Have a great day everyone, stay warm!! :flower3:

To all those who asked about the Tuppeware orders - I will find out the details tomorrow night and post them on Friday :thumbsup2

To all those who mentioned my hand - thanks!!!!:goodvibes
When I cut mats, they are on a bevel, and they will bite you very easily. Those bevel mat cuts are the worst. They hurt hurt hurt, and they never heal fast. They are never serious cuts - they are just pain in the butt cuts:rolleyes:

Stitchfans - Before paying anything back, please talk to someone that knows about insurance, or an attorney. I've never heard of an insurance company demanding repayment. Bunchkin used to work in insurance, maybe she can have some advice - I would send her a PM about it.

ID - I"m sorry to hear that your DS is having a hard time in school :guilty:
I hope things start getting better soon:wizard:

To everyone else - :wave2:

I'm waiting for my delivery to come, so I can get to work - I hope he gets here soon.

Have a good day everyone!!

Hi all. More snow ugh!! DH says he thinks I am mistaken and that the only money will owe them if he does not return to work is the money they put in for when they match the premium he paid weekly. To the best of my knowledge we are caught up with our portion since I have been sending in monthly checks. This is all so confusing and new to me. Just hope I am doing the right thing.

Hope everyone is staying warm. Not in much of a mood to chat so I will be running along. Just stopped in to say hi.

Kim - wow, great airfare!! We did an 11 night stay in 2005, it was GREAT. We had lots of down time and had a wonderful vacation except for the fact that it was August and hotter than he**.
That's what I'm hoping for this trip, finally, is some DOWN time! Never before! Last trip, Oct '09, they had record heat, and I've been down there in June before also, so I figure I can handle the heat - now on to ADRs!! :thumbsup2

 ALL!!! :grouphug:

sorry, but i agree with the mayor on this one.
i lived in the city for years, have a son that still lives in chi town also.

we all pay for those extravagances in the end one way or another.
I agree mac, I won't miss the fireworks at all! If you LIVE in the city, you avoid the fireworks at all costs! Too many people, and smaller community fireworks (Park Ridge, Des Plaines, Niles) all have great displays as well! :thumbsup2

Still managing and reviewing ADRs and park hours, etc. What a time-task it is! But, it's fun - given the end result! :cool1:

 everyone!

Hi all. Sunshine but cold. At least no snow. yeah.
By the way has any of you heard of Carrier Mills, Illinois?
My cousin moved there from Florida about 2 years ago. She says she loves it there. Says the weather is a little bit better than here but the best part claims it is far more less stressful there plus very reasonable prices for homes. She says everything is cheaper there.

Her son got his girlfriend with child and is able to support her, the baby and himself only making $9+ and hour. I find that hard to believe but I do not know why she would lie to me about that. :confused3 He must have to put in some heavy duty hours though.

She says the schools are very good with very small class sizes. It is a dry town, similar to Bible belt area ( not sure how to word that) and very friendly from what she says.

I am gearing more towards less stress for DH. Plus DD may like the smaller classes. She said her son went to a 3 month class for CNA classes for $500 and is now doing fairly well. I have plenty of medical background experience and would not mind doing the work of an CNA. Just wondering. Grasping at straws to make our life a little better. What do you all think?

Have you heard of this area? Good or bad?

Morning all! So happy to see th sun! Not much new going on around here. DD12 had her science fair judging yesterday, we go today to see her results. Dinner at MILs house as usual. Need to do some research today for HHI for our Spring Break trip, only 55 days left! :goodvibes

Stitchfans - never heard of Carrier Mills, did look it up on Mapquest though and it is very far south in IL so I would agree that the weather would probably be a bit better. Only thing I'd recommend would be to visit and do your research before moving but it sounds promising.

KimRaye - I love the planning part of trips, so fun! Enjoy! We've been 3 times in June and it is hot but we just planned a break at the pool for the hottest part of the day. Longer park hours helped make touring a bit easier.

mac - I agree on the fireworks but it will certainly be an adjustment. Wonder what kind of impact it'll have on the Taste. Also wonder how three fireworks shows on the 4th will be cheaper than one big one on the 3rd. :confused3

slo - how was the tupperware party? Can you do online orders?

:wave2: to everyone else, hope you're having a great weekend!

Well, time to hop in the shower and get this day moving! Have a great one! :flower3:

Morning everyone! Hope everyone's Sunday has been more enjoyable then mine has been already. My store called me 7 times this morning to see if I could change my shift to 1130 to 730 (I'm scheduled 230 to 845). I called them back to let them know I could only do 1130 to 630. My manager said no so I told her I couldn't come in. And then she got mad at me? :confused3 The thing is...the same thing happened last Sunday: found 9 missed calls and 2 texts asking for the same shift coverage (1130 to 730) but I went in. :confused3 I'm really close to leaving my job because of other situations plus this, but I need to find another job before I can leave this one. :headache: :sad2:

KimRaye So jealous of your trip!!! When I was younger my family used to take 2 week trips in October every year. How I miss those vacations...you'll have a blast!
Tiggerrn2 I will never miss the ISAT, ever. But then there was the ACT. I would take the ISAT over the ACT any day. Hope your kids did well!
disneygal922 I sat around one night and read your entire planning report. It looks amazing! I'm super jealous of you! I can't wait to hear more about your wedding!
irish dancer I'm in the middle of college stuff and I'm still not looking forward to it. Decisions and housing forms and deposits oh my!
*I hope your daughter did well in her science fair!
Stitchfans

Off to study and do my laundry since I didn't yesterday! :rolleyes1

Hi Everyone,
Our house if full of coughs and sneezes, but the sunshine is giving us a little lift!

Stitch - A move may be a wonderful idea. I agree that maybe a visit and a request for information from their Bureau of Commerce and other offices may be helpful. You also may want to see what the options are for your husband if he should need some medical attention down there. How equipped are they and how close? I hope it works out for you guys!

Hi to everyone else! Hope you're all doing well :flower3:

Good Morning everyone! :flower3: hope everyone had a nice weekend. I took my wedding dress to the tailor. :bride:They said it should be ready this coming weekend. I didn't get much of anything else accomplished though b/c i wasn't feeling too well. It comes and goes but i think it's mostly from my sinuses. Also, I made my dad a bday cake and we took him to dinner. that was nice.

ID ~ sorry to hear DS is having a rough patch at school. townhouse shopping is frustrating unfortunately. :upsidedow

slo ~ how'd the tupperware party go? how's your hand feeling?

nd5056 ~ sorry but i agree with Mac and Kim. Navy Pier will still be having their fireworks so it's not like the city will be firework-less. Right now the city/park district should be spending the 2+million they spend on fireworks on more important things.

kim ~ how are your ADRs coming along?

stitch ~ i have never heard of Carrier Mills but a move might be a nice idea. A change is always good and at least you would know someone in the area.

Chell ~ sorry to hear about your job. just tell your boss that if they are going to ask you to switch then they should just schedule for that time rather than calling 9times. that would be so frustrating to me.:sad2: thanks for visiting my planning journal btw.:goodvibes

Tigg, piglet, leigh, mac, and everyone else ~ :wave2: have a wonderful day.
