Want to wish Geffric and anyone else celebrating Hanukkah a Happy Hanukkah!

Want to wish all Chicago Disers here a MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I'm back from my parents' and church. Almost done with decorating my tree. :rotfl: It's almost full, so I have to be done. (I have waaaay too many ornaments. It'll be full, and I've only put up a small fraction of what I have. Seriously. I'm trying to cut back. :rolleyes1 )

Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah! I hope you are all enjoying your holidays!

"Happy Non Specific Winter Holiday"!

Just got back. Would someone like to tell me what all this white stuff is?!

Thankfully we flew into Midway and we had NO delays! We had a grand ole time but I wish we were back in that 80 degree weather!

Hope everyone is well and staying warm, dry and safe!

hope everyone is having a nice time with their families.

he left this afternoon and took his kitty..........:sad1:
he works tomorrow so he didn't have the option of spending the night.

other 2 sons still asleep. they went back to bed after our cake this morning.
i'll be doing a burger king run for them later tonight.
i'm so glad they stay open till 3 in the morning today. :goodvibes

i think this will be my only quiet time of the day for me.
i so enjoy that.

the day really went fast today!

it is so different for christmas morning when the kids were littles.
the entire day is busy then.
especially if you forgot to buy batteries for toys......

Happy belated Christmas everyone!!!!!

I'm sorry I didn't check in yesterday, but things around here have been a little stressful. Kevin remained sick on Christmas Eve, but he still helped with getting things done like a trooper. Than Christmas Eve afternoon he slipped in our driveway, and fell flat on his back:eek: He hit his head, twisted his knee, it was not good:sad2: I had to run outside to help him up, because he couldn't get up on his own. He was so sore afterwards - he thought he broke a rib(s). It was terrible!!!! Then Christmas Eve night ALWAYS stresses me out, when we have to put out the Santa gifts - I wish I wouldn't get this way. But I'm always so scared that the girls will hear us and come downstairs, and I'm not ready for Katie to know I'm Santa:sad2: But we were able to get everything in the house and set out, without anyone knowing:thumbsup2

I didn't sleep well that night - I was up every 2 hours. When I got up the first time, I could feel a terrible headache coming on - I knew then that Christmas Day would be long (stress always gives me a headache - I hate it!!!!). Stephanie got me up at 7am, and then I told her that she could wake up Katie at 8:30am. Poor Kevin got up at 8am, and was so sore - I felt so bad for him!!!! As the girls were opening their Santa gifts, my mom calls - I knew this would not be good:sad2: She said her dog, Daisy, took a terrible turn for the worse, and she was going to the Emergency Animal Hospital, and was going to put her down:eek: She was crying and devostated, and I told her we would postpone Christmas - but she insisted that we didn't. Now my headache went from bad to worse, because now I'm so worried about her. Before everyone came over though, I went and laid back down into bed because I just didn't feel well. Everyone came over at about 1pm, and we tried to have a normal Christmas, but it was hard with all this saddness looming over us - afterall, we did lose a member of the family yesterday:sad1: Everyone left at about 8pm, and the girls and I got in our jammies and watched tv. So that was our Christmas!!!!

You know who had the best Christmas was Sophie :dog: She went downstairs yesterday morning to her stocking, and just knew it was hers. She worked at that stocking so hard, that she even put a hole into it. She would put her whole head into at times, trying to get her stuff out - it was hysterical!!!! She calmly pawed at it, nudged at it, and just worked worked worked to get that stuff out - it was so funny!!!!! She such a good little puppy!!!! :dog:

Have you all been outside?
It is terribly icey around here - I mean TERRIBLE!!!!!!!:scared1:
At around 4am the police closed an overpass in our town, because a car flew off it, due to the icey conditions. When I took Sophie out this morning, I was nervous about slipping on the driveway because it is 100% ice:eek: I don't even know why I'm opening the store today - no one is going to come in:sad2: If I didn't have to work, I know I wouldn't go out today:sad2:

Dan - I hope you, Marie, and family had a fabulous Christmas!!!!:santa:

DG - I bet you were happy that the doctor told you to stay home:) I hope you are feeling better.

ID - How was the pototo casserole with black pepper?

Leigh - I still haven't renewed my license  I wanted to go today, but they aren't open. I'll go next week:thumbsup2

HERSEY, paint, Crissup, Rose, geffric - :wave2:

Mac - I really enjoyed having the birthday cake yesterday, and I will continue doing it for year to come. Thank you again for talking about your family tradition so I could introduce it in my home:goodvibes

Wendy - Welcome home!! I'm glad you made it home safe and sound:) You'll have to tell us about your trip.

Well, it's time for me to go get ready for work.
Have a great day today, and if you are going out, please be careful!!!!!

Morning.. happy day after...

is anyone going to brave the ice and go out to wait in the long lines to return stuff or buy more stuff???

SLO - how is Kevin today? Is he okay?? I am sorry about Daisy:grouphug:

MAC- how are you feeling???

Yesterday we went to BIL's for dinner and their oldest daughter got engaged. Great news and the ring is beautiful They are looking at August 7 2010.

See ya later... I am working today so need to get some stuff done..luckily I am working from home so I didn't have to brave the ice..

I dragged the garbage down the driveway spread some salt. It is slippery out so anyone going out this morning be careful.

Slo I am sorry your Christmas was such a downer. It is sad to lose a beloved pet. How is your dad doing? Poor Kevin, that is always my worst fear. I hope he starts to feel less sore soon.

Geffric I was thinking about getting some wrapping paper but I am waiting for this afternoon or tomorow. Plus now I need more salt, I use up what I bought this year already.

Awww slo, I'm sorry your Christmas wasn't very good. I hope your dad does better than you're expecting without the doggy. And I hope Kevin is feeling better!

My Christmas was pretty normal and uneventful. I had finally finished the tree the night before  , and then my parents came over in the afternoon and we opened presents, then I made my cheese souffle. And that was about it.

I finally got my work laptop out today :rolleyes1 , so I think I'll start concentrating on getting something done today. We go back for the three days before NY next week, so at least there's still a little more time to finish things up. Then we'll be there on the 2nd, and then the 3rd (Saturday). :sad2: The first part of January won't be very fun. But oh well, I'll live. And then at the end of Jan. I'm going to Cleveland to watch the figure skating National Championships.

I'm not planning to go out today, except I was thinking of maybe going over to Chipotle for dinner.

I just went out to get my mail and it was so scary! It's not at the end of my driveway, the boxes are in a common area for my building, so I had to about 30 feet. It was almost solid ice, even though part of it is melting. But I was so afraid I was going to fall (like Kevin did). :scared: I walked so slowly that it took about 5 minutes to get there and back! :rotfl: But I made it. :thumbsup2 And it's really foggy. I hope everyone had a good day! I decided to postpone Chipotle until tomorrow.

sounds like everyone had a full day yesterday.
today, everyone is recovering.

tomorrow, we start the diet

weather will be wicked this weekend.
warmer weather, lots of rain..........

Oh, no, don't say the "d" word just yet. I do think we have time!
gef- Yep, finish the chocolate. I ate a PB Tree and some Lindt chocolate squares today.
hersey- The driveway is terrible. I feel like Bambi on the ice!
slo- I am so sorry about your parents' dog. I hope dh feels better. My sister's dh also slipped in the driveway and hit his head. This ice is just terrible!
wendygrace- Hi, since I haven't said it yet!
mac- Hope your holiday was nice!

Here was my holiday...we went to my gparent's on Xmas eve. Gma was back in ICU. We went up to see her. To be honest, it was very depressing. There is nothing left of her and she just kept repeating the same thing over and over. It was awful. We went back to their house and had an okay time, but it was hard not to think of her in the hospital like that.
Xmas morning was wonderful, though. The kids were very happy to see all of their gifts and it is fun to see them excited. I got to give dh his Ipod, which I have been very excited about. He gave me a really cute purse, then told me it had neat compartments inside- a trick to get me to find the ring he had hidden!
We celebrated today with my mom and sisters. The best gift of them all...she gave each of us and very generous GC to Disney! So guess who is soon booking a trip!
Anyway, I should go to bed. we are leaving very early for a quickie trip to TN, then stopping by dh's family in OH. We will be gone for only 3 nights, so we will be in the car a lot!
Night!

Slo, I am so sorry your XMas was such a downer. *hugs* to you.

So, I got the car stuck in a snow drift yesterday getting it out of the driveway. Dh had to get it out. It was a rough day around here. Dh's glasses broke and he's as blind as a bat without them. Had to go out today in this blech weather to get a new pair. Kids wouldn't behave so we had to leave and he had to drive back (he had a very old pair of sunglasses he used). Lenscrafters took forever to take care of him. We got there right at opening at 10am and his glasses were finally ready at 3pm!! Grrrr!

Our street has a 4 or 5 inch rut down the middle of it. You can see the ice glistening and if you're not in the rut, you're sliding all over and its a narrow street which people love to park on. Yuck, yuck, yuck!

OTOH, Dh took the kids outside to build snowmen and they had a blast.

As for dieting, not til January 5th! That's Monday and it's always good to start these things on Monday, right?

yeah, make that january 5th for the start of diet day.....:hippie:

and if anyone else can come up with a better reason to delay the date of when we start the starvation plan, please post here.
