Calling all Chicago DISers #2

Evening all. I had a productive rainy day. Got the done, did the sheets, cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed and then finally got to DS closets and some drawers. Up next, a trip to Once Upon A Child to unload it all. I also unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher. I didn't get to the Halloween decorations though. So far, we have a couple of pumpkins on a bench outside our door. I really am not into the holiday spirit this year. The thought of dragging things out to have to put them away just doesn't thrill me.

Welcome back, Mac!!! That time flew by! Can't wait to hear all about it. I hope you had a great time in spite of your discomforts.

Bunchkin, thanks so much for putting that lovely song into my head. I hope you enjoy the rest of the TR. I enjoyed writing all about it and looking at the pictures again. It was fun.

Paint, I hope you enjoy the wedding and that your DSis has a great weekend for it.

Donna, thanks for the comments on my TR. Glad you enjoyed it. I have since found out what the scent was in the lobby-Aloe and Green Clover, and I have a scent machine that wafts it out into my kitchen daily. So it smells just like the Beach Club in my house now.

Slo, those rawhides made Tiggs sick. We stopped giving him those long ago. He loves the Nylabone chew bones. They get awfully scratchy, but at least they don't get soggy and the little bits that come off are digestable. He chews all day long on those.
We got into the main parking lot, but we were way out towards the end. It was a long walk to the van at the end of the day with the goods!

KimRaye, have a great trip!! I hope all goes great for you. for a smooth flight and an easy airport exit.

This week is just dragging - I hate that!!!!

Thanks to all that commented about Sophie
She still is doing okay, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way. She hasn't gotten into the inside of a rawhide yet, so we'll see what happens when she does.


paint - I"m glad you had a good time at GA. We haven't been in YEARS, of which bums me out, but the girls don't ride those rides (Steph is to scared, and Kate to small), and technically, I shouldn't either with my bad neck.

DG - Katie did have a good time at the pumpkin patch - thanks!!!!

Donna - I"m glad Door County was beautiful and you had a nice time. I"m sorry about your hospital visit though - not good!!!! How are you doing now? I hope your doctor can give you some answers this week

Bunchkin - I haven't heard that song in YEARS. It was a yucky night last night wasn't it?! I was glad the rain was basically over when I had to take Sophie outside - it was nice to not go out with an umbrella.

**Sophie doesn't love Nylabones, actually none of my dogs did She has 2 in her penned off area in the kitchen, and she rarely touches them This is the only type of bone in her area, because I only give her the rawhide at 9pm, when she is with me.

Good Morning Everyone! I did not want to get out of bed this morning. I was so nice and warm under my comforter. I was not built for this cold weather. I was shivering almost the whole way to work!

Mac ~ I LOVE lucy and Ricky! I always say, "Luuucy, you got some explainin' to do!" in my best ricky ricardo voice! Glad you had a safe trip and welcome home!

Bunchkin ~ I also hate the misty type rain. When I got off the train last night it was a heavy misty rain and I was parked out in bufu! needless to say as soon as i got home i put on warm, dry clothes. that kind of chill goes right through ya!

Tiggern ~ glad you had a productive day!

hello chicagoland homies..........
good morning to all.
welcome to winter

well, i am still on vacation apparently as i haven't done squat yet at home.... can't vacuum on crutches very well.
the dining room table still has my vacation junk on it.
did have to put away stuff out of the big suitcase as mr mac needs it this weekend. he has to go away for 4 days on a business trip.
my "fun" stuff is still in the carry on bag.
as usual, i had to bring home the food and wine booklet, extra park maps, do dads, etc. useless things i bring home each year....


today the contractor is putting the new front door in and finishing up on the window screens. the original ones from august were defective.......yea, like i need to use the screens now.
i'm trying to adjust to the weather.
coming from mid 80 degree weather to what we have here is not my cup of tea.

i'll tell you about my trip probably on this weekend.
the last 4 days of my trip were difficult for me.
had leg problems.
went to the surgeon yesterday as the leg stays hot and swollen down to the foot.
at noonish today, i go to the hospital for a mri.
he thinks i have a break.
i don't think so or i couldn't walk on it, right..?

anyhoot, surgery on the right leg has been moved up from jan/feb to asap. he can schedule me as long as today's mri shows no stress fracture. i'll probably hear from my doc after the reading of the mri and a decision is made on my next step. i'm guessing that will be sometime next week.

the left leg will be dealt with in december.

i'm so grateful i was able to make this trip to the motherland.
i took my time in the parks and didn't rush.
did miss out on favorite rides as i was restricted from some of them.
i tell myself, there is always next year.
i booked on the bounce back program for next year before i left this time.

better living thru chemistry is keeping me going...


i should do a cliff note to acknowledge everyone and everything i missed out on while i was gone. i'll work on that later.

DG - I"m sorry you have to work all day Saturday - bummer!!!! I always go into work on Saturday, but I don't stay all day. I go in at 10am (when I open) and I stay until lunch time. I don't go far though - I always stay home incase my employees need me back in flash (I live less than a mile away). I hope your work day Saturday goes by fast.

Mac - How did everything go yesterday? I had a stress fracture in my knee and I was still able to walk on it - imagine how shocked I was when I found out about it I was in a brace for quite some time - in fact, this is when I decided to open my own store.
**I'm still keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, and send as many hugs as I can Please always remember that your friends here are always here for you, and that we care about you very very much!!!!

Donna - How is your son's girlfriend doing? Last we talked she was doing good, and I hope he is still getting better.

Hi guys! Well, I've survived the first week home . Thankfully we came home with suitcases full of clean clothes, yeah for DVC. I think unpacking after a WDW trip has to be one of the most depressing things.

Kind of a busy weekend around here. The girls have a lantern hike with Girl Scouts tonight. Mairead serves mass tomorrow evening and DH is going on a motorcycle ride to Galena Sunday. We won't go to our usual Sunday dinner at the in-laws, FIL has started his new chemo and has lost all his hair. He's says he's not up for visitors.

slo - thanks for the pics. Sophie is TOO cute!! I hope she's still feeling well. My DSis used to breed Wheaten terriers and I remember her telling new owners to be very careful with rawhides as they can make some dogs sick. I hope that is all it is for Sophie.
*Are you going to MNSSHP during your trip?
**Tampa airport was a breeze, no problems. We've flown in there before too and it was an EASY drive to WDW especially at 10:30p.

mac - I'm so sorry we didn't meet up, please forgive me. I hope you enjoyed your trip in spite of your legs.
*How did the doctors visits go?
**LOL, I always bring home the maps, welcome packets, etc. Not sure why but I always do (much to DHs dismay )

Tiggerrn - I really liked your TR, we stayed at BCV a few years ago and really liked it. I hope we get to give it a try again.
*I think I might give the TR a go. I jotted down a few notes each night before bed to make it easier.

disneygal - your dress is beautiful! That is one good thing to have out of they way.
*We've been to MVMCP many times as we usually go to WDW the week after Thanksgiving. I love that time of year and Disney certainly knows how to decorate!

paint - I hope you have a nice weekend in TN for the wedding. We never got to Great America this summer, I just couldn't bring myself to pay those prices when we had that same experience last time we went. Dirty, crowded, long lines, lots of unsupervised kids, yuck!

Donna - I hope you're feeling better, it's too bad you had to spend time in the ER during your weekend away.

I am glad this week is over. I think I am staying home for the most part this weekend. I just have to make a quick trip to my bank to haggle over some fees they threw at me that I don't think are mine.

Slo..LOL at the pic of your Sophie the Serious Student...that is one of the cutest doggie poses I have seen! She is just adorable, and I am sure she is not at all spoiled, is she? Thanks for posting the pix of your fur baby, and also the pix from the DIS meet. We had a great time that day! (Thanks again, BUNCHKIN, for planning that meet!) Brian's gf continues to improve, she has a really positive attitude, thank you for asking.

Hersey..I am with you on the long week. Not sure why this one seemed so long, as I was off work on Monday, since we were still up in Door County, so it was only a four day work week for me, but it just seemed to take *forever* for Friday to get here.

ID..sounds like you have a busy weekend ahead. What is the lantern hike? I'm sorry to hear about your father-in-law.

Hooray, it's finally Saturday!!!!!
This was the slowest week ever!!!!!
I wonder how this week is going to be with us leaving in 7 days It'll be either super fast and stress me out, because I have so much to do before we go. Or it'll be super slow and bum me out, because I really want to leave for vacation. It'll be interesting in how it turns out


Thanks to those that commented on my little Sophie - she really is darling!!!
I'm going to really miss her when we're gone. I'm just hoping and praying that she's as good for my mom, as she is for me, because if she's not, then my mom may not ever do this again. I know my mom's afraid about her not eating, because she'll be sad to be away from me. Sophie and I go almost everywhere together, and I baby her ALOT, so that's why my mom's nervous. Hopefully she'll adjusts to my mom's easily {{fingers crossed}}


I'm also glad you all enjoyed The DIS Meet pictures.
I can hardly wait to have another Meet soon!!!

HERSEY - Sophie is a good student God Bless this little dog - she puts up with so much. The girls have really taught her to be very tolerant, which is a good thing!!!! The only time she has ever growled at them, was once when Katie was bugging her while she was eating. I told Katie that if Sophie bit her while she was eating, that she (Katie) would be the one getting in trouble, not the dog, because you don't bother a dog when shes eating. Katie has never bothered her while eating again
**Good luck at the bank today!!!

Donna - I'm so glad to hear that Brians girlfriend is continuing to improve - that is such a good news!!!!
**I hope all goes well at the doctor this week




Well, I gotta go get ready for work, and I have stuff to do around here.
I really like a clean house before I leave, so all week, I'll be cleaning in my spare time (this isn't easy when I have to work until 7pm everyday ) I like coming home to a super clean house!!!!!
