Calling all Chicago DISers #2

slo said yesterday, "So, I went to the doctor yesterday, and he put me on 2 perscriptions for a month. I'm taking a muscle relaxer to help with my neck, and I'm taking a headache mediciane twice a day to help eliminate the headaches. I'm going to go back in a month to tell him how things are going. He wants me to not work out until Wednesday, so the mediciane can get in my system (he definitly thinks the working out is a headache trigger, but he doesn't want me to stop, because it's good to workout). I had an MRI done 2 years ago for my neck, and he wants to see if the MRI showed results for the brain. If it didn't, than I may go have an MRI done to see if I have any fluid on the brain, or anything else bad. He's not thinking I have an aneurism or brain tumor, but he doesn't want to rule that out either - so we'll see what happens.

Why is it that I always have to have an ongoing saga in my life???? Now it's this headache thing, last year it was my knees (which still bother me today, just not as bad), 2 years ago it was my Raynauds and Ocular Rosacea (which I will have the rest of my life). I'm to young for all these issues - sorta ticks me off!!!! "

slo, invest in duct tape.

use it to hold yourself together..........

jk, this all will pass and you will be feeling like your self again soon.

have a great day homies.

going to church later, will have your backs covered for the week.

Morning all. I have worked 38 hours in the last 4 days. I usually only work 24 hours in 7 days, so this has completely tired me out. I have to go in still today for 4 and tomorrow for 8 and then downtown Tues for a depostion that I am really not looking forward to doing. By Wednesday I think I will be ready to drop. And on my one day off, I had 15 kids here for a pool/water slide party. Kids in - kids out. Grass everywhere. Glad I didn't bother to clean before the party.:rotfl2:
Rose, welcome home. Glad you had a great time. Looking forward to hearing all about your trip. Too bad about the camera.
Hersey, only 2 days.:scared1: Are you all ready to go?!!!!
Slo, sure hope the meds help and you can get on with your workouts and life.
DMM, great to hear from you again. Happy Birthday to Sal. Enjoy your trip to Mexico. How great that your jewelry sales have taken off for you!
Too all of you B-Ball fans, the trick is just to root for whoever from Chicago is winning and not pick a favorite!!! (Doesn't work when they play each other, but I think those are fixed for the fans with the home field advantage anyway:laughing: )
Kyle's team lost yesterday. They play tomorrow for either 3rd or 4th place now. I was hoping they would make it to the championship game.
Leigh, I want to know who sent that to you in error as well. I hate getting secret info like that and not being in on all the details.:rolleyes1 That's a tease!!!
Mac, glad you got my back this week. Couldn't make it to church this morning after working 16 yesterday. I just couldn't pry my eyes open.;)
Well, I guess I had better get my:laundy: going. I have much with working so many hours this week. I wasn't able to keep up on it and then the party added a lot of towels and wet clothes. Oh, and 15 kids went through 200 water balloons in 10 minutes. Then I made a contest out of seeing who could pick up the most balloon pieces to win a prize!!:woohoo: Worked like a charm. No pieces left for me to pick up and the kids had a blast.
Later all!!

Good morning all! It is almost the home stretch for us. 2 day 2 probably looong days.

How about that rain and wind yesterday. Luckily the rain and wind happened before the guests came by my friend's. The party was alot of fun and tons of food. You never go hungry by her.:rotfl: My desserts turned out really well.

Bunchkin We will look for those pens. We plan on getting over by the Fort by 8:30ish to stake out a good place for their little parade. It sounds like fun. Of course Alex thinks it strange but could be cool.

Slo Hope you all have fun at your parade today. It looks like it will be a good day.

I feel like today will be the Cubbies day today  :cheer2: I hope :scared:

Ok I have to get back to the mad race to clean up and not scare my pet sitters.

it is that time again..........

Open house again today. Only one lookey-loo came.

Went to the neighbor's house for his DD's 8th grade graduation party. Lots of fun and way too much.....as in he ordered WAY too much food from the caterer.

Hersey That's great the rain didn't spoil the party.
Everything at the Fort is a lot of fun!! Are you guys staying for the movie and Chip 'n Dale sing-a-long?

:surfweb:

Yesterday was a good, fun day!!!! :cool1:
The parade went well - lots of people!!!
Then we hung out at the fest afterwards. We watched the bed races (the FD won :thumbsup2 ), and then there was a pizza tasting competition. We have 14 pizza joints in our town, and 7 of them competed. You graded them on taste, crust, and sauce - it was really fun!!!! :)
Then we came home for a short while, and then went back in the cold and rain to watch the fireworks - it was a great day!!!!!:goodvibes

Mac - Thanks for the duct tape advice - I need to go buy a case of it :rotfl:

Tiggggernnn - Thanks!!!!:)
You have been busy :faint: I hope things slow down for you soon:wizard: I love how you got the kids to pick up the balloon pieces. I'll have to remember that in case I ever do something like that.

HERSEY - Are you leaving tomorrow??? If so....have a wonderful, fun time!!!!:cool1: I can hardly wait to hear all about your trip when you come home.

Bunchkin - I'm sorry you didn't have many people for your open house:guilty: Hopefully more people will come next time.:wizard:

Well, it's time for me to go get ready for work
Have a good day today everyone!!

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: woohoo for the flower smiley back on the main page! the weather sure was indecisive this weekend. rain, sun, warm, cold... it couldn't make up it's mind. we had a graduation party to attend up in Gurnee. it was about an hour and a half drive for us, so not too bad but it was bright, sunny, and warm when we left our house then we hit rain then it was sunny then it by the time we got there it was chilly :confused3 craziness this weather! I actually wore my jacket to work today.

Slo ~ Glad to hear the parade went well! I sure hope these meds work for you!:wizard:

Hersey ~ have a wonderful trip! :wizard:

Tiggern ~ good thinking with the balloon pick up contest! That was always my least favorite thing of water balloons, picking up the pieces so my puppy didn't choke on them... now, he'd just sniff and turn away

Bunchkin ~ sorry to hear you only had one looker at the open house. Hopefully next time there will be more :wizard:

Mac ~ "slo, invest in duct tape.

use it to hold yourself together.........."

you crack me up! :rotfl: I agree Slo, invest in some duct tape!

Well I'm off to do some work. Have a good day everyone! :flower3:

i have duct tape holding my dryer together and the fridge door.

such a cheaper way to fix things.

and, you can get duct tape in colors.....

Hello everyone! tomorrow at this time I'll be in the hot florida sun. Feel sorry for me yet?:rotfl: Sorry for the tease.

Hersey Thanks for adding my pens to your WDW shopping list!! YEAH!! :cool1: Have a great time!!!! I'll be looking forward to hearing all about it when you get back!!

slo Was there a fee to enter the bed racing contest? I know that Naperville has a $100 entrance fee.

Tiggerrn I think Thurs. is good for us. I have to double check.

:surfweb:

These muscle relaxers make me sleep awesome, but I wake up so groggy!!!!

Thanks for everyones continued good thoughts - you're the best!!!!:goodvibes

DG - The weather has been crazy!!!! I wore gloves to the fireworks Sunday night, and last night it got really cold too :cold: Where's our hot summer weather - I love the heat!!!!! :sunny:

Mac - I didn't know you could get duct tape in colors - I thought it was silver or nothing :)

HERSEY - Bye!!! :wave2: Have a great time!!!!!!!:cool1:

TTTTTTTTigern - How did Kyle and his team do last night?

Bunchkin - I don't know if there was a fee for the bed race:confused3 I'll have to ask Kevin (he was head of it) because now I"m curious.

Well, I gotta get going, because the girls have to be at school early today - Stephanie is going to MSI.
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Good Morning Everyone! :flower3: I bought some new shoes this weekend to wear to work and let me tell you they are cute little wedges with a black strap-y type sandal-ly thing. i realized as i was making the purchase THEY ARE CROCS!!! I couldn't believe it! I didn't know crocs made shoes other than the ones with the holes in them.. they are crazy comfy but unfortunately have given me blisters :confused3 but oh well they are worth the comfort! :goodvibes I told my dad last night I couldn't believe i walked 39 miles with not one blister, I wear a new pair of shoes to work and I come home with 4... doesn't make sense to me but whatevs!

Anywho, I just thought I stop by and say hi! :wave2: hope everyone has a wonderful day! it is beautiful out! anyone going to the Taste?

what is your favorite color slo?

i'll send you duct tape for your Christmas present.........

Hey everyone!

Nice to see y'all! I got back from Disney a few weeks ago and have been swamped at work. Really nice and slow today, so I wanted to get back here and read up on everyone. See how everyone is doing!! Hope everyone is dandy!

Our time in Disney was fun, but hot and a bit rainy. Had to pony up for some poncho's one day! I didn't bring them on this vacation and ended up having to pay the Disney poncho price. But you know what... I'm never leaving home without them ever AGAIN! Craziness! :rotfl:

We had a good time, stayed at Pop Century. We celebrated Megan's birthday a bit early, so she was totally spoiled for a few days. Aside from all the 100's of birthday wishes from castmembers, she got a small cake at The Plaza Restaurant, free ice cream at Sci-Fi Dine in Theater that had a YOAMD card with it signed by the castmembers there. And, she was called to be in the Festival of the Lion King Show. That was very cool. We managed to get in the third row and the lady came by to ask some other kids, but all of them were too shy. Not MEGAN! She ran up to the lady and said, I'd love to be in your show. The performer wished her a Happy B-day, took her by the hand, and she got to do the little walk around the theater thing.

We only had one bummer thing happen and it was losing my car in the stupid Animal Kingdom parking lot. I knew the section, but there were no row numbers. So, in the sweltering heat, we searched and searched, but could not find it. We flagged security down and he drove us up and down the aisle til we found it. We had been out there though for about 1/2 hour looking before flagging down security. We ended up both having to go back to Pop and taking a long nap in the air conditioning. We were a bit sun-exhausted. We drank lots of water the rest of the day and were fine by the next morning. I think we went back to Hollywood Studios at about 8:00 p.m. that night and just stayed for few hours.

Got to ride on Toy Story Mania two times. This is an awesome attraction. We stood in line once and rode it on Fastpass the second time. All I can say is Disney has a homerun with this attraction!

Hope everyone is enjoying their summer so far. I know I am. Electric bill... barely nothing, gas bill was $17.00. Can't beat it with a stick. Warm days and cool nights makes for low utility bills.

Well, I'm going to go back and read up on the last few weeks and I'll be back later!

Sam!!

:woohoo:

Hiya' pals! Trying to keep up with the thread but have been busy. Work. Ugh. It's okay, for a job, but I'd rather be home dis'ing!:surfweb: I had my sister's wedding last weekend. It was really fun! Instead of clinking the glasses for a kiss, the dj called a few couples up and had them kiss and dsis and her new groom had to copy it. Of course dh and I got called. It was pretty funny, but dh had mouth full of bread!:rotfl2: Nice. I stopped eating because I knew they'd call us! The next day I went to another sister's house and her dfiance and dh bonded a bit (long story, but for some mysterious reason her dfiance has always been stand- offish of us). Anyway, her dfiance is a Dis-freak and is helping brainwash dh!
slo and mac- I think I need duct tape. I suffered a knee injury that almost had me in the ER after the rehearsal. The worst part was I don't even know what happened! It is a bit better but I am taking it easy on the exercise this week, especially since I have to work.
tiggerrn- DS had an awesome pirate bday once with tons of cannon ball balloons. All that work and they go through them so quickly!
hersey- Hope you are enjoying your trip!
dgal- How are the wedding plans going? How about the house hunt?
Bunchkin- I hate having to keep the house super clean for those last minute people who want to look at the house. How's it going?
Sam- Dh and I lost our car at 6 Flags on our first real date- in the rain, too! Can't wait for Toy Story, btw. One more month for us!

Anyone seen Wall-E yet? We saw it tonight and it was great. I loved it. It was definitely different but really refreshing.

I didn't take my muscle relaxer last night, and I'm feeling more like myself this morning. I'm calling the doctor today and telling him that I can't do that pill anymore :sad2: I'm also not to happy with that headache pill. It also makes me groggy, and I feel myself becoming dependent on it already. Last night I had such a bad headache, because the pill wore off at 2pm, and I can't take another dose tell about 4pm, and by then it was to late. So, I"m going to let my doctor know all this, and hopefully he can perscribe something else {fingers crossed}.

Speaking of last night......
I went to training on how to be an Extrodinary Minister of Holy Communion. I'm really enjoying being more involved with the church, and meeting new people:goodvibes .

Today, I'm home, and getting ready for the party on Friday. My house, inside and outside, needs to be cleaned up. With it being nice out, we are also going to try to get some pool time too, so it should be a very productive day!!!!:)

DG - I'm sorry your new shoes are bothering your feet:guilty: I hate it when that happens!!!

Sam - Good to see you!! :wave2: I'm glad you had a nice time at WDW:) When I was reading about you not finding your car, I kept thinking of the Seinfeld episode where they can't find their car in the parking garage - did you ever see that? So funny!!! But they weren't walking in the heat - that part would not be funny :sad2: I'm glad you had time to go take a nap afterwards.

paint - sounds like you've been really busy :faint: I'm sorry to hear about your knee :guilty: I hope it gets better soon:wizard:

Well, I gotta get going, and get this day started - have a good day everyone!!!
