Hi gang and bye gang! We are leaving today - 6:00 pm tonight to be exact. I wanted to leave earlier but today is good. Plus, I want to beat the snow! We head to TN tonight and Florida tomorrow. I will be in Epcot on Easter Sunday thinking of you all!

Suffering from sinus headaches the past few days......I've had enough already!!


I had wanted to go to the mall this morning to get those Disney Dollars but I ended up stuck on the phone with my mom for almost an hour. And with the kids getting out of school as of tomorrow who knows if I'll make it there now without spying eyes!!



slo I went longer than you on not getting a hair cut! Before I chopped all mine off in late January, I think the last cut was last March!
Did you shorten your length at all?
That's nice of you to help out your friend's office this morning!
Hopefully no one with come in with any pressing issues!

I've been thinking about getting DH a gift cert for the laser place in Mokena that helps people stop smoking. It has worked for 3 people we know.

slo & irish - thanks for the ideas, especially the dixie cup one. I can't imagine 6 little girls in tutus needing to go to the bathroom all at once!

Bunchkin - was the sidewalk part of the mall, or outside of it? At the outlet mall near my house, you can't smoke anywhere that's part of the mall, even though it's all outside. I'm really sensitive to cigarette smoke so I'm happy about the ban, but I agree that it is getting a little out of hand. Smokers do need *someplace* to smoke.

slo - the EB was fine. He's brown so he's not too fake looking, but he doesn't wear big gloves like Mickey, just little white ones, so his hands look so tiny next to his huge head and feet! A little creepy, but DD didn't mind at all. The only problem we had was waiting for this one mom to be satisfied with a photo of her kids. I swear, they took ten photos before she was happy, and I know she's paying for the photos but she took forever!

All this talk of haircuts makes me realize how much I need one. I know what you mean, Irish, about the cost. The salon I've been going to for a decade is *SO* expensive now, but luckily my stylist and I have become friends. She'll cut my hair at her house for cheap. I haven't been since September so I really need a trim.

Going to gymnastics today. DD is really excited about it as I think it's an AirTrak day. She's really grown and is pulling at a lot of her leotards lately so I think I'll have to look for some new ones soon. Maybe I can squeeze it in this weekend - I have birthday money burning a serious hole in my pocket. Hope everyone has a great day!

Disgal-I am getting a pretty nice refund which will cover the rest of the wedding expenses and hmoon airfare! Hopefully, the wedding gifts pay for the honeymoon! Also, maybe you'll get that proposal in wdw! My dsis did, but then again, he made her wait 12 years! He owed her that much!
Zero- Just bought dd new leotards! They were all giving her "wedgies"!

I'm just going to say -- you all with that type of sore throat go get checked out for Strep. Considering that's what *I* was told to do on here and it turned out it was.

I can't wait for today to be over then the kids are on break. Of course, I still have to go finish up some shopping but that's the advantage of having a teenager -- once she gets home, I can go shopping...much to her dismay that I won't bring her with. I tried last night but could NOT find a single thing for DD or my oldest DS, considering the Easter Bunny is cheap. I was just wanting something $10 & under....NOT an easy accomplishment. The 4 year old was easy enough & the 7 year old likes Pokemon cards, so that's done. But DD only wanted "A Webkinz, cash or gift cards" -- DS-11 has given me no ideas but he mostly just plays on the computer anyway. I did get lots of candy to put in their baskets though. That was at Meijers so I guess I'm going to have to look at Target or ?????

I also should be cleaning the house since we are hosting Easter but I don't want to.

DS-11 found out his part in the school play. It's stage crew! That will be interesting -- at least I don't have to help him learn any lines.

For those of you off on vacation soon, have a fun and safe trip. I'm jealous. I heard there was supposed to be that nasty "S" word again tomorrow. It's Easter -- that is just not right for that to be showing up!

Well, the mall is all outdoors, as in all the stores have their own entries from outside. No stores connect internally. There are streets you drive on through out the several buildings that make up this mall. There are parking meters outside of each store to park at. And there are parking lots as well in several locations on the outskirts of the mall area. So the sidewalks are a way to get around to all the stores and restaurants, etc.


I actually am like you in that smoke really bothers me. DH doesn't smoke in our house or cars, or around the kids for that matter. DD has asthma and allergies and doesn't need to be around smoke.

I think this rule of theirs is new. We noticed while leaving a new sign on one of the sidewalks that states no smoking! Of course we didn't go past this on our way to where we were shopping.





And just so everyone knows, I'm not defending my DH's smoking habit. I'm just very suprised to find out that such a rule, no smoking allowed on a sidewalk, exists. That was my point.

Bunchkin - your DH's smoking story reminds me of one of ours. We went to WDW with the in-laws a couple of years ago. DH and FIL took the kids out on a boat ride while I did laundry. FIL lit up while out on the lagoon, lo and behold WDW security ride up in their own boat to tell him that he couldn't smoke out on the water . He was completely baffled why he couldn't smoke outside and still jokes about it. I'm not a fan of smoke but I'm also not a fan of all the smoking bans, I can't imagine how smokers must feel.

I'm not getting e-mail notices either...I did think it was odd that no one posted on this thread today, that's why I came by earlier.

However, what usually happens when the e-mail notifications disappear, they start showing back up & it's as if they were put in a queue because I will all of a sudden start getting ones that are DAYS old....I get bombarded with notices then.

Thank you!! Kelly is LOVING the 'outfit' she gets to wear. Normally, she goes to practice in sweat pants, but ice show practices are in full 'costume', and she's freezing! LOL

It might be, my CUBS schedule is upstairs. I know there are 2 BAB games, and we have 1, so maybe that is the other game. Either way, whatever giveaway, we Shall Meet at the AG giveaway game!! Yes, clarinet for Kelly. She's pretty good, her teacher says. We're at the 'decide to buy time'. She does it well, but I'm not sure she LIKES it enough to matter, KWIM? She was invited to play at the teacher's high school last month - she was the only 4th grader invited - he said she's ready - but she got the flu, and it was very disappointing. She also has a standing invite to play at teacher's HS every Monday night, but she skates on Monday's. We can't seem to devote EVERY minute to any ONE thing with her! She's all over the place!

Those of you speaking of Easter bunnies at the Malls - I was shopping with my DSil the other day, and the Golf Mill Bunny is just plain creepy!! Lifeless, motionless, just sitting there! Freaked us out!

Nicole, was the Webkinz B1G1 only at the store? Kelly is BIG into Webkinz (as am I )! If Lauren & Hunter have user names, we'd love to 'share' with them! Let me know - PM me.

It's always so hard to get up for work, when no one else does
I"m not working to much today though
I'm going to work until 1:00pm, and then my employee comes in until 6pm (she's doing this so I can go to church at 1:30pm). Then at 6pm I'm going back to work, and then staying until close (7pm).

paint - Studying is so hard when you want to do other stuff . I remember how that was a couple of summers ago when I was in real estate school.

WooHoo for Friday! I thought we were supposed to get all kinds of snow overnight? We had a light dusting down in Tinley and it was still snowing this morning but it was more like snain(snow/rain) just forming slush... whatevs, that is FINE by me! I'm done with snow!

Hersey ~ I've been getting tons of junk mail in both snail mail and email! Never had Lou Malnati's, hear it's great though! I'm personally a fan of Chesdan's, followed by Connies! Both are delicious! And now really want pizza maybe I'll go grab a slice for lunch!

disneygal - what opera are you seeing? Before my DD was born, I had season tickets. I got to see some wonderful performances and, unfortunately, some really awful stuff, too.

Hersey - I've had quite a bit of spam come through my filters lately and I'm not sure why. The worst though is the phone calls. The Tribune called me three times in 24 hours trying to get me to subscribe!

paint - lemon tea with lots of honey will help your sore throat. If it's really, really bad and you're desperate, heat up a half-cup of apple cider vinegar and heavily sweeten with honey, then drink it. Gross but effective.

slo - thanks for all the suggestions! I've got a room mom meeting next Saturday so I'll have a better idea of what to expect. I do hate being a newbie.

Last night they predicted 7 inches for my city. Thankfully all we've got is about an inch, but this storm watch is on until 1am. Yesterday DD and I went for a walk around the block in light jackets. Today it's freezing and snowing. I hate this time of year!

I feel like I'm in a whole different world in regards to planning. I know so much on planning for a WDW trip...where to eat, what to do.

I recommend dinner at the Blue Bayou. It can be hard to get into without a ressie though. So, call and make one. Otherwise, maybe you might just want to take this one with little planning and just enjoy what you discover. I sometimes find that too much planning can cause me to miss the details because I'm too caught up in what I need to do next.

Also, the new Nemo subs can be a two hour wait or longer. You may want to make a bee line for those the moment the park opens. They're worth the wait.

I'm not a fan of smoke but I'm also not a fan of all the smoking bans, I can't imagine how smokers must feel.

Yeah, it's starting to get crazy. I'm waiting for the revolt. Thinking it'll be like prohibition all over again. LOL!

No emails here either.

Mine aren't working either. That's why I haven't been around in a couple of days. Out of sight, out of mind.

Just a dusting for us too! This weather is crazy! Yesterday afternoon we went fishing in one of the ponds in our subdivision and now this weather!

When we were staying at Fort Wilderness we noticed they have signs around about not smoking because of all the foliage. Which makes sense. It can be very dry foliage at times of the year.

That's nice to hear that Kelly is doing well with the clarinet. How long has she been playing? I played for many years before giving it up. Played concert band, marching band, jazz band, etc.

Bunchkin and ZeroMyHero ~ We are seeing Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky. It's at the Lyric. Mike and I are subscribers so we have had tickets to all the operas this year. We missed Falstaff b/c Mike's mom had to have a triple bipass so we gave our tix to a couple of friends! we love going... we are still deciding if we will subscribe next season though... there are only a handful of shows we REALLY want to see! we were both music majors in college (he sings, i was music management).
