Poor Katie was complaining of a stomachache all day yesterday, and I just kept telling her she needed to use the bathroom, because, normally she does when she has a stomachache. Well, at 8:30 last night, up came her dinner:eek: She has not been sick like that for literally 2 years, and I think it kinda freaked her out :scared1: Luckily, she hasn't been sick since, but I didn't get much sleep, because I was waiting for the next round to start anytime. I even had her sleep on my floor, so I could keep an eye on her. We are going to take food with her very slow today, because we are going to see HSM on Ice tomorrow, and I want to make sure she is okay.

piglet - That's good that he choose German ::yes:: I think he will use it alot more than Latin.

Bunchkin - Luckily, Jennifer was able to get a claim form from them, and it required a police report and an estimate on a new windshield. So Kevin got both, and now we are going to keep our fingers crossed that this will work. It will probably take a good couple of months to get money, from what the news has been saying about this topic, but that's okay, because he doesn't want to get it fixed until spring anyway (he's afraid it'll just happen again). So we'll see what happens (fingers crossed).

JR - Thanks for the links, I wish we could go.

Sam - I have a Mickey key too for home :goodvibes I love the idea of different characters for different doors - I may have to steal that idea if you don't mind :)

Laura - Congrats on your wedding anniversary :goodvibes I'm glad you were able to celebrate it at a nice restaurant - its sounds great!!!!!

Donna - Thanks!!! I really hope they pay too, because we just don't need another bill to pay right now:sad2:

TTTTTTigern - Wow, you had a busy day yesterday :faint: I hope today is a little more relaxed for you.

paint - Have fun at your party Sunday :)

HERSEY - :wave2:

momto1 - That's awesome about getting those skates for so cheap!! I hope he enjoys them!!! :)

Becky - I thought it was students against drunk driving too ::yes:: We have a specific police officer in our town that is the "SADD" officer - it's even written on his squad car. I'm going to have Kevin ask him about this the next time they are on a call together, because I'm curious on when it changed.
*Congrats to your DD :cheer2:

Mac - Did Mr. Mac make it home?

Well, I gotta go get ready for work.
Katie is going to come with me today, because Kevin has many errands to run, and I want her just to relax. So I'll bring out her little bed, and she can lay in my office and watch movies all morning and early afternoon:)

Have a good day!!!

Hey HERSEY - We posted at the same time :) I'm not happy about it being so cold tomorrow for when we go to the ice show, but it seems like whenever we go to the ice show, it's always super cold :cold: I'm just hoping now that Katie is fine, because we are planning on going to Ed Debevics (sp?) afterwards, and I'm really looking forward to it.

Has anyone heard the weather for tomorrow  a high of 5 degree. Where did I wake up? I don't remember signing up for this.
If anyone is going to be out and about make sure you have blankets, cellphone and charger and plenty of gas in your car you do not want to be stuck. Just my little public service anouncement.

I know, I had the alarm set today since DD has gymnastics & cheer. I thought I was not quite fully awake, so I hit the snooze!!! It came back on and then I listened to the weather part and realized it was not in my dream...BRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!

My older boys have their Cub Scout Blue & Gold tomorrow and DD has a cheerleading competition, not too far away but far enough.

I'm SO not looking forward to going out in this. I don't do cold.

I'm glad to see I'm not completely losing my mind -- at least about this. The president of the club was explaining the program and the SADD club & she specifically said "It's Students Against Destructive Decisions"...my brain when "huh?" :confused3 I guess it makes sense that they expanded it to include overall good decisions. I don't know if it's just something our HS changed on their own or if it was an overall thing. We had a police officer who is a DARE officer (I think he has another title too -- maybe student liason?). I forget -- all I can say is these High School kids look really small AND our teachers LOOK like students!!! They were introducing people and one person was the Health teacher -- I nearly fell out of my chair. I thought she was one of the students. I wouldn't have been able to pick out the teachers (other than the couple I know). Just having an 8th grader, I guess I expected the High Schoolers to look a lot older than my DD and I know the President of the club didn't & she was a Senior. Of course, maybe it's the other way around -- my DD is looking older and I'm ignoring that fact vs. the High Schoolers look too young to be High Schoolers to me.

I have to bake a cake for Blue & Gold tomorrow, have to run to my nephew's birthday party this afternoon (still need to get a gift) and will be running around everywhere. So, off to get a move on things.

good saturday morning all.

slo: hope your dd feels better soon.

to all that have weekend plans, enjoy yourself and your friends and families

Hi all. Anyone going to the DVC events at Woodfield Mall this weekend? I don't think we're going to get to make it out that way, but I'd be interested in hearing a report from anyone who does go.

Hi Everyone!
I wanted to go so bad today for a WDW fix and the kids are sick. DD ended up with walking pneumonia and is on meds now.

Becky...sorry I don't know but how did the driving go for you with HSM? You can PM me.

Where is this cold coming from. I thought I saw yesterday it was going to be in the mid 20's all week.Stay warm tomorrow!

Slo ~ Hope Katie is feeling better and that you can enjoy your plans. Yummy on the dinner plans. I love Ed Debevic's but can never get Dewain to take me.

I think it is also Mothers Against Destructive Decisions now. It is weird to see it that way (SADD too) but it does make sense. Back when those groups were founded the big deal was drinking and driving. Now we have to deal with so many "new" drugs and just real scary stuff.

OK, looked it up and while I was wrong about MADD changing, here is what I found out about the name change for SADD. Guess we are all kind of out of the loop since it has been over 10 years since it was changed.

http://www.sadd.org/
In 1997, in response to requests from SADD students themselves, SADD expanded its mission and name and now sponsors chapters called Students Against Destructive Decisions.

I always DO say I live under a rock, so it doesn't surprise me this change took place 10 years ago & I was clueless.

Slo- I hope dd is better and you get a nap in. I can never sleep after one of them has vomitted. I am on "puke alert" at the slightest sound or movement!
Hersey- I'm so lazy. I know.

Baking Tastefully Simple's Absolutely Almond poundcake right now. Smells so delicious!
DD and her friend are pretending to be puppies right now- crawling around, barking and howling.:headache:

anything that happened to change the world in the last 10 days, i know nothing about............ sharing that rock with me?

i had 3 in skool and never had time for a thought except how to get thru the day......

I just looked out my window and its snowing AGAIN!!!

I am getting ready to go sledding with DH's niece and nephew. I think I may just sit in the car and watch.

Have a great weekend all

Well, its' snowing here too in the very south burbs. But because of all the rain we got last week most yards have lots of green showing.
So no sledding here.

slo Sorry to hear Katie is now feeling well. Hopefully she will be fine by tomorrow. I haven't been to Ed Debevic's since I was in high school!!!! :rolleyes1 Loved that place!
I hope that the claim on the windshield gets paid! :thumbsup2

paint Almond pound cake yum-o!!! Have fun at your party and I hope you get lots of sales....to earn you lots of free stuff!!! ;)

Hersey You forgot one thing on your emergency car list.....chocolate! ;)

mac I hope you have a good weekend too! :)

crzykid Have fun sledding!

We've been gone all day and now I have to help Lauren with a school project about our family immigrants. She's doing her report on her great grandfather on her dad's side. He was from Sicily. And was Cosa Nostra!!!! :ssst: :ssst: But we're not telling her that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :sad2:

Bunchkin I thought the chocolate was a staple in everyone's car?:confused3

It stopped snowing here. Just light flurries anyway.

Paint ~ I love the Absolutely Almond Pound Cake! When I bring it to shows (I am a TS rep) people seem so amazed at how simple it truly is to make and how great it is to eat. Hope your party goes well tonight!

Slept most of the afternoon to avoid my knee hurting. I could have taken a pain pill, but would have slept then too. Lauren seems to be sick now, low fever and complaining of her ear hurting. Poor thing fell asleep when I did, and is still out cold.

Yes, looks like we are sharing the rock!!! In all reality -- if someone doesn't post it on one of my boards, I have no idea any big news is happening until usually the next day. hey don't usually break into Diego, Dora, Backyardagins, etc... with breaking news.

Therefore you are all now charged with adding important news to this thread because it will be the only way I know anything important. Otherwise, I will just keep going through my day oblivious to what's going on.

Which reminds me -- DS-11 is Star of the Week and he has to find a current event and write a summary on it for Monday. Hmm...guess I actually have to find out what's going on tomorrow so he has something to write about. I don't think writing about Ned's Declassified (which he's watching right at the moment) or his video games is going to do for this.

going to church in the morning.
will cover all of your backs for the week.

that's the kind of homie i am to you.........:goodvibes

off to watch tru tv.

sweet sleep all

Good morning fellow eskimo's!

 It's cold out there. How can it be so cold and sunny. Where was the sun yesterday?

Slo Did Kevin go to the car show?

The dogs just went out again. Hershey sure like the cold weather:confused:
Poor Minnie is getting to old for the cold she limps.

Stay warm everyone.

Hi, all...happy freezing Sunday! Anyone feel like a popsicle??

Mark's sister is doing okay. She did have a setback, where she had an infection and was in the hospital again for a few days, but no other yucky things as far as we know. Thanks, friends, for asking!:)

Bunchkin...good to hear from you!

Paint...thanks for explaining about the party. Hope it was a great success for you!

Slo...how was the ice show?

Hersey...I think DVC is great for some people, but at the place we are right now, it's not the thing for us. We have done the tour at Woodfield, though, and it *does* look tempting! Did you go and hug Mickey Mouse yesterday??:thumbsup2

We crazy, crazy people ventured out in the COLD yesterday to view the snow sculptures at Randhurst mall. Actually, they were pretty amazing to see!! But, I couldn't get warm for quite a while afterwards. We stopped at Russell's for lunch afterwards, and I needed to have my chair as close to the fireplace as possilbe! I am such a wimp when it comes to the cold!!! Remind me...WHY am I a Chicago homie???:confused3

Hope everyone stays safe & warm today...bundle up out there!
