Morning! Did you all hear the news that they are extending the Hanna Montana movie? Now Disney is saying they will let the movie run its course instead of only playing for one week.

No more snow! I can't stand it! Wow, what a busy weekend we had. Sunday was a day of shopping with dm - out to lunch and to an antique and collectible sale. Then Sat. pm, dh and I went to a surprise 60th birthday party. The birthday boy was very surprised. It was fun. Sunday we picked up ds from my moms then headed to baseball practice and then to the in-laws for the Super Bowl party.

Glad to hear all of you Hanna fans had fun at the movies.

The shooting at the Lane Bryant was tragic. One of the women was from our town. I don't recognize her name but she is just about my age. So...it is possible that we know of her for school, scouts, baseball, or something. DH cousin lives right in that area. The police put her house on lock down. The couldn't leave for hours. How scary.

OK...no more snow. Have a good day everyone!
Lori

The Hannah Montana was a lot of fun, and many girls in the theater were as crazy as they were at the concert  Many older girls (13 and up) were standing and dancing (which I felt really bad for those people that were sitting behind them, because many of these girls were tall), and alot of screaming  I really wasn't expecting that at the movie theater, even Stephanie said she wasn't expecting that. But it was a lot of fun, and the my girls loved it!!!!:cool1:

Have a good day today!!

Slo! Wow!! Megan and I went to the concert at the AMC Downtown and there was nothing like that going on there except maybe a minor squeal here and there. And, when the Jonas Bros. were done, about 20 teenage girls got up and left? Megan was wiggling in her chair, singing a little bit and I know she wanted to dance, but everyone was just so "sedate". No clapping, no cheering, no dancing, nada! Couldn't have been more different. We got there an hour early and we were about the 9th and 10th person in line. We had good seats and all went well. Parking though = $26.00. :scared1:

We had a great day. Stopped in at Disney Store on Mich Ave for a HM t-shirt and some bangles. Went up to American Girl in order to have a doll hairdo, lunch, and then off to the "concert" movie.

Megan really wants to go to a real concert, but I told her she'd have to be at least 12 or 13 first. She didn't like that! Oh well...

Have a great "gray" day out there. We need some sunshine!

I just booked a WDW trip today! I'm going again for the F&W Festival, and my parents are coming, too. We're at POR on 10/15, and CR-MK View  for 3 nights, 10/16-19. So that will be two partial days and 3 full days. We'll go to the parks those days, and for the partial days we'll do DTD and bum around the monorail resorts. :yay: :yay:

Could it get any foggier out here?
I can barely see the houses on the other street behind ours!!
I had to drive in it on the highway earlier and it was freaky!! :upsidedow

Joe BW Villas!! :yay: That's on my list of places to stay!! :thumbsup2

Sue WOW!! $26 to park! Was that in the AMC garage??
Glad to hear Megan got her doll into the salon!! :)

Leigh You and your parents are going to have a great time at F&W!!
And an MK view room too!!!
How's the new house? Did you ever finish unpacking??

Well, I better go start dinner.
Lauren and I watched Paula Deen over the weekend and she made a bacon cheeseburger meatloaf that Lauren begged me to make. So I'm off to recreate this meatloaf. Let's hope it tastes as good as it looked on tv!! :thumbsup2

For those of you with little ones, the Field Museum has some PBS character days coming up were characters will be at the museum making an appearance, there will also be activities. This month is Arthur and next month is Piggly Winks.

Also the Planetarium has several free days this month.

YIKES!!! I just read this and know I have to go pick up DD from play practice and take her to gymnastics practice. I look out the window after reading this and think EEP! It's going to be a fun night. NOT.

Leigh -- Sounds like a fun time. You're going on my little guy's birthday.

Good Evening Everyone.

Every one stay safe in the fog. Most people around here are driving with their hazard lights on to help with visibility.

I'm so glad the fog has gone away - I was not wanting Stephanie to have another 2 hour delay :sad2: It just throws my whole morning off when that happens.

Mac - :wave2:

Bunchkin - I hate tracking nasty slush into a new car:scared:
**Yes, we are planning on staying in the time share this year - it'll be so weird!!!! But Kevin says that once we stay there, we'll never want to go back to an average resort room - we'll soon find out:rolleyes: With us not staying on property, we are going to some other things this year. We are definitly going to Sea World, and maybe Cape Canaveral - it should be fun!!!:goodvibes
**Have fun at The Field Museum today :cool1:

piglet - I didn't know that about the movie. I wish it wasn't in 3D, because I would take the girls to see it one more time, but I'm not paying that price again:sad2:

momto1 - Wow, that's scary about your cousin not being able to leave her own home:eek: But I guess it makes sense, but it's still scary just the same.

Sam - Your show was very low key. We had a lot of screaming, especially when The Jonas Brothers were on, which I don't get, those kids aren't cute (IMO). They kinda remind me of a modern day Monkees Band :rotfl:

Joe and Leigh - Your trips sound great!!!! :cool1:

Becky - The driving was terrible last night, wasn't it?! Stephanie was so worried us driving home from the store, but we did okay :thumbsup2

TJ - I never thought about driving with the hazards on - that's a good idea!!!:)

Well, I'm off to get ready for work
Have a good day today!!

Morning all!!
Bunchkin, we are off that day as well, but I am still scheduled to work. Hoping for a trade so we'll see. Seems I always have to work the days the kids have no school and then I am scrambling to find a sitter for 8 hours. My niece said they could stay with her. Last month we planned that and her DD got strep!!! So at the last minute I was looking for someone else to keep the kids for the day.:sad2:
Speaking of strep, seems the tonsillectomies they both had this summer have done the trick. We have had a healthy year here so far. Knock wood quick!!! :rolleyes1
Well, I have had 2 nights straight of driving home in awful conditions, but I think I preferred the fog of last night to the snow of Sunday night. Let's hope the next couple are OK.
Mac, looks like you are going to get another good round of snowfall tonight. I am hoping it misses us this time.:rolleyes1
Leigh, that vacation sounds great!!! MK view. Only in my dreams. Where did you stay when you went to DL last year? I am thinking of the DL Hotel if the budget allows for our trip there in June for our friend's DS wedding. They are getting married at the Grand Californian (not in my budget). Bunchkin made me think of perhaps staying across the street at the HoJo. Would save us at least 1 airline ticket (perhaps 2).
Piglet, I had to laugh. Of course they are extending that movie. $$$$$ talks!! That little girl is making them a ton of cash!!! I hope they are paying her well.
Well, I best get this day started. Lots to do today. PTO junk and get this house cleaned up a bit. :laundy: Long weekend of running around = nothing done here. Have a good day all.

good morning chicagoland homies.

yup tiggggeeeeerrrrn, i think you are right.
i have been following the weather watch.
right now, i will be hit hard.

mr mac is in times square new york on a proxy vote meeting for his company. he was delayed out of ohare yesterday due to the fog and got in at 8 last night to new york.
he called me this morning and says, he doesn't know if his flight on wednesday evening will be cancelled.

time will tell.

bunchkin, if that meatloaf turned out well, i'll be done for lunch.....

happy day all.

think spring.

no skool for us today. teacher institute day.

Hi gang! Are these potholes crazy or what? They seem to be worse than I remember them in years past. I am betting I end up with a flat from one. My car seems to be attracted to them.

Off to vote when I get home this afternoon. The past 3 primarys I have voted in I have ended up getting called for jury duty the following June. Coincidence or what? We will see if that happens this year.

Leight - Food and Wine sound great. We had a package booked last year but then had to cancel. I am thinking about it again this year. DS and DH are thinking about doing the Exebition Everst thingy and that would be during F&W, I think. Have to check on that. Your trip should be great.

Bunchkin - How did the Cheeseburger Meatloaf turn out? That sounds yummy and something we would like at our house.

Now... to prepare for the next round of snow. Stay safe driving everyone!
Lori

Hey! I just noticed that I am a Mouseketeer and no long Earning My Ears! My dh says I am a good little mouseketeer! Oh, happy day!
Lori

Stop with the weather!!! No, no, no!!!!

DD has play practice again tonight -- I DON'T want to deal with another snowstorm. At least I don't have any parent meetings tonight though if it comes through.

Can I hibernate now? First it's the snow for the parent meeting, then the fog last night, I don't want to go out again in messy weather. I keep thinking "Ok, it's Feb. we don't have *that* much longer of winter left" but it's not really helping a whole lot.

The potholes are nasty around here at least. There are a few roads that are really bad. It's like an obstacle course to see if I can avoid them (sometimes you can't).

Hi all!!!

The Field Museum was great!!! The kids really loved it and have thanked me for taking them there a half a dozen times so far. :goodvibes
It was a really quiet and low crowd day there! :thumbsup2
And I left there without spending a ton at the gift shops!! :thumbsup2

I still need to get out and vote. Luckily it's right down the street.

slo I'm sure you'll enjoy staying at the time share AND getting to do extra things because of the money you'll save. :goodvibes
We would go see Hannah again IF it wasn't $15 a ticket!!
I'm guessing that maybe they will release it to DVD!! That would be nice! ::yes::

Tiggerrn We'll figure something out if you can't get the day off on the 18th. I know you're trying to get extra days anyways. There's always the weekends or spring break is around the corner.

momto1 The meatloaf turned out really YUMMY!!! :goodvibes
But it did take a bit longer to cook then it stated on the recipe. It is a very moist meatloaf full of lots of ingredients!! Everyone loved it.
In fact it's what's for dinner tonight too!! :thumbsup2
You can go to Paula Deen's website or Foodtv's site and look up 'bacon cheeseburger meatloaf'.

Well, I'm going to scoot!! :wave2:

Everyone remember to go VOTE!!!! :hippie:

Potholes are real bad around here too. I agree that I think this is the worst I've seen in a long time.

This weather is nuts:scared1: I was hoping we would not have a repeat of last Feb, we only had five full days of school the entire month. The first three days have pretty much been a repeat:confused3 . Everyone stay safe & warm:goodvibes I need sunshine!!!!!!

Lori

i know for lake county that the drivers license is used on calling people in for jury duty.

if you have an illinois license, you can picked for jury duty.

vote early and often.

i always vote early in the morning.
then i have my sticker to wear all day long when i do errands or have to work.

momto1 The last time I got picked for jury duty. They said they go off the drivers license lists since most people don't vote thinking they will get picked for jury duty.;)

So far this evening I was pelted with freezing rain then just rain. Now it seems to be nothing. We will see in the morning how much of the white stuff we get. Probably since I'm planning for a day off nothing will happen
