Hello!

We didn't go to MSI as we planned. We are all going tomorrow now, which includes DH, so the kids are happy. He wasn't going to be able to go with us had we gone today so it works out for the best for all. MSI is having so many events going on that it should be a good time!!! :goodvibes
So today we went to the Farmer's Market in downtown Joliet. That was a lot of fun. Had some lunch, then ran into the neighbors! Then we went shopping at Sam's Club.

Got stuck at the neighbor's house during the rain storm a short while ago. DH rescued me with the umbrella!! :umbrella:

slo Hope the workers will continue to install your siding over the weekend too.

irish dancer DD has her GS day camp sleepover on this coming Friday. It will be her first year sleeping over while at day camp. Luckily, she'll be with our neighbor and her daughter. The neighbor is running one of the boy's groups, boys can attend if their moms are working at day camp.

Sam Waiting to hear details of your trip!!!! :goodvibes

And tell Megan Happy Birthday from us!!! Hope she has a great b-day tomorrow!!!!
:yay:

united has cancelled all of their flights for 7:45pm ....#1519 no longer exists.

and they are closing out 50% of their evening flights from ord to vegas now.

flight # 1518 is the morning flight and that was changed from 7:30 to 8:00 am back in march.

it is 1519 that really bothers me.
the last direct flight out from mco is now 5:05.

what are your dates?
which flight numbers are you using?

i called united twice and had them fix my eticket.
when they cancelled flight 1519 in may, they put me on a flight to conneticut at 6:30 and from there a layover and into ohare at 11:30 pm.

they changed me to the 5:00 non stop flight.
only 1 seat left on that one.
was only 2 seats available when i switched to it.

because of the time difference change, they mailed me a $50 voucher for a future flight.

of course you have to book with an agent on the phone to use a voucher and there is an additional charge to use an agent.

they get you coming and going.....

They certainly do get you coming and going!

We are on Flt #1011 down on 10/4, it has changed to 6:10p from an original of 5:45p so not too bad but I really don't like getting in so late.

On the way back we are on Flt #1539 at 5:05p on 10/12.

What really scares me about these changes/cancellations are that we have 2 reservations, 4 tix on cash and 1 on miles. If things get cancelled and we get moved around we could end up on different flights and that would put me flying alone with all 3 kids and DH flying solo :scared1: .

I'm going to try not to obsess over it and just hope for the best.

wow, we were almost plane buddies there.
i'll be leaving on the 2nd and returning back on the 13th.
flight 1539 like yours but a day later.

keep checking the united schedule.
they have been changing a lot. now they have merged, more changes could happen.

and, do what i did, call to complain and get the voucher.
it's only for $50 for a time change around 3 hours but anything more is a larger voucher.

on the united scheduling board, check the on time performance so you will have an idea how late you will get in.

:surfweb:

Stephanie's at a friends house this morning (she went to a slumber party last night) and it's always weird when she's not here. She was so cute last night, she called me at 10:15pm last night, just to talk to me, and say goodnight. I was concerned she wasn't having a good time, but she said she was having a great time, and she just wanted to call me:goodvibes I told her that it made me feel good that even when she's having a great time with her friends, she's still thinking of me:goodvibes How sweet!!!!!!

HERSEY - We are having 7 windows done, so hopefully they'll go as fast as your windows. We have a bay window too, but that one isn't getting replaced :sad2: We felt it was still in good shape, and the girls love playing by that window. The ledge is really low, and about a foot away from the floor, so they love to stand on it, color on it, play Barbies on it, and etc. So we decided to continue letting them enjoy it, and than when they are much older, we'll change it.

ID - How awesome that all 9 of you will be together :yay: Have fun at your picnic!!!:cool1:

DG - :wave2:

Rose - Have a great trip!!!! :cool1: I can hardly wait to read a trip report when you return!!!! :)

Mac - I'm sorry to hear about your flight problems - how frustrating!!!!:headache:

Bunchkin - Have fun at the museum today!!!! :cool1:
**I need to get to Sam's Club this weekend to buy candy for our 4th of July parade next week (July 29th). I'm putting my van in the parade (the rolling billboard as we call it) and throwing candy. Last year we handed out coupons, but not this year :sad2: Out of 3 parades, I only had 3 redeemed, so it's not worth the effort :sad2:

Well, I better run and get ready for work
Have a great day today everyone!!

Good morning! I am getting the pre-vacation cleaning started. I going to do a major clean than hopefully next weekend just do a smaller clean up. We will see how that plays out. I am trying not to go shopping.

Slo Stephanie is so cute. I like that she called you last night she is such a considerate child. Is Katie having an easier time away from Stephanie?

How about those Cubbies? :woohoo: They needed that win after lossing 3 in a row.

Have a great day everyone. Off to do the chores :faint:

united has cancelled all of their flights for 7:45pm ....#1519 no longer exists.

I think 1519 was my flight back as well, on 10/19. When they announced all those cuts a few weeks back, I checked my itinerary and found that we were now leaving at 6:10pm. :( So we'll have 1 1/2 hours less at WDW. At least (so far) I still have a non-stop flight back. We're not doing much that last day, just planning on hanging around the CR and renting a boat, and we'll see if my mom's cousins who live nearby can come to see us and go out on the boat with us. I was thinking if they did, maybe we could go over to the WL to eat at WCC. So I think we can still do all of that by 3pm (assuming there are no more changes :furious: ), but it'll just be a little less leisurely.

Good Afternoon Everyone! :flower3: What a beautiful day it is today, even with the showers this morning! My dad is having a BBQ with a couple of his friends so I'm hiding out in the office until mike is done with work and he can pick me up. Dad hired some people to pull out about 25 bushes he planted about 20 years ago. Said he's in the mood to change the landscaping! when he told me he wanted to pull those out i kinda freaked :scared1: he has a bad back and i didn't want him to hurt himself. so i talked him into hiring someone and he did!! so they are working on that right now and my car is blocked by their truck.... not a prob though gives me time to go online and say hello to all you wonderful folks!! :goodvibes

Rose ~ have a fabulous trip! :cool1:

Bunchkin ~ have fun at the MSI!! :goodvibes I haven't been there in probably 15 years... wow how times flies... the Field Museum on the other hand... try to make it there once a year or so...

ID ~ good luck with your ticket situation :wizard: hopefully it will all work out!

Slo ~ that was very nice of Stephanie to call you last night! Glad she had a good time!

WooHoo, GO CUBS GOOOOO. hey chicago what do ya say, Cubs are going to win today!!! sorry, i randomly break out in song and that happens to be the song of the day!!

Have a good weekend everyone!! :flower3:

you are lucky.
only on the weekends does that 6:10 direct flight exist for october.
i come back on a monday and the last direct flight is at 5:05 pm.

i saw that the fares for october went down today for united.
that's a good thing, i guess they are trying to fill up the empty seats for the fall travelers.
i figure if the plane is full, less of a chance to cancel that flight and reschedule the passengers to other flights.

We are staying home today and bumming around all day :yay: Hopefully the rain will stay away, so we can have some pool time :beach: I will make sure to wear some sunscreen today, because my sunburn is still slightly pink where I burned before

HERSEY - Katie cried and cried after we dropped Stephanie off, but after that she did okay. I took her home, gave her a shower, and then we watched TV for awhile - she thought she was staying up really late, but it was really wasn't - it was 9pm when she went to bed:)

Leigh - I"m sorry to hear about your flight change - that's a bummer!!!:(

DG - Did you and Mike do anything fun after he came and picked you up?

Mac - :wave2:

Bunchkin - How was the museum yesterday?

I"m off to make some breakfast
Have a good day today everyone!!

good sunday morning chicagoland homies.

off to church soon, will have your backs covered for the week.

it is raining here again.......

Hi, all. I'm sorry to read about everyone's problems with flights for their trips, and hope you all find something that will work out, and not cause too many headaches.

Slo, enjoy your pool time, but be especially careful with the sun. I always hear that it is even more brutal on cloudy days.

Hersey, I'm still wondering how I could have missed that you guys were going on your trip so soon, and not in October...I guess time is just passing too fast for me! <and being a HUGE Sox fan (I know I am a minority here on this thread!), I am hopeful tonight's game will have a different outcome! But, congratulations to the Cubs fans!>

Bunchkin...how was the museum? Hope you had a good time.

Mark & I went up to Long Grove & Strawberry Fest yesterday, it turned out to be a very beautiful day!

Sorry for a quick post, shout out to all, have a good Sunday!

Last year we went in October. :confused3 I may have mentioned going again in the fall but the school calendar is not very family trip friendly. Since Alex is in accelerated classes it makes it very difficult to miss many classes. So I thought we would try a bake in the hot florida sun in July. :faint: We will be there for the 4th That should be very interesting.

It has been years since I went to Long grove. Has it gone back to being more antique stores or is it still crafty. I heard my favorite restaurant closed. The one that was one the main street with the buffet.

As I just posted in the Meet thread, I've scheduled the measurement date for my shades and blinds for this Saturday. I went to Home Depot this afternoon and went through all the windows and picked out my choices (unless I change my mind :rotfl2: ).

Turns out I had been misinformed about the installation fees, so it's $200 less to do the whole house than I would have thought it would be. :cool1: I'm going to just do the whole house at once. I think it will be cheaper (on install fees) and easier. I ended up having to change two of my in-stock/ready-made (cheaper) shades to customs because the windows are shorter than the others and so the length wouldn't work. So that will be more expensive for those two, not sure how much. I don't have quotes for anything, I'll get those after the measurements are done. I haven't gotten my Levolor swatches yet. I think they were shipped out on Friday. So I just picked what color I think I'll get. I can change any of the colors after I get the quote, if I want to. I get 15% off for all the customs because of a Bali sale, and hopefully I'll be able to get 15% off the soft vertical blinds for the sliding glass door if they have a Levolor sale next month. That's the most expensive thing by far. :(

It took forever to go through all that with the guy. :faint: Then we went to Steak and Shake. I got chicken fingers and a good shake. :thumbsup2

We had a very nice day yesterday :)
We had to dodge the rain often (it was a weird weather day) but that's okay. The girls got to play in the pool for awhile, and I got to lay in the sun :sunny: (it wasn't warm enough for me to be in the pool).

Tonight I have training to be a lecter at church (the person that does the readings during mass).
I've always wanted to do this, but always had a reason not to. When our Priest asked me about doing this, I told him that Katie wouldn't want to sit with her sister while I did it. He told me I could take her with me - I thought that would be great!!! So I decided to do it!!!! I'm really excited about it!!!!:goodvibes

Mac - Thanks for the listings!!!!:)

Donna - I agree about the sun on cloudy days ::yes:: I slathered myself up with a lot of sunscreen (Stephanie saw me applying it, and she says, "Mom, how much sunscreen do you need?!" ), and it really helped me to not burn more - I"m still tender from the last burn.

geffric - I hope Geoff has a good time!!!:cool1:
**Where was the chocolate buffet at? It sounds yummy!!!!:goodvibes

HERSEY - I"m really looking forward to your trip report after you come home, because I have never been to WDW in the summer, and especially over a holiday. Is Alex getting excited? :yay:

Leigh - All the shades and blindes will be nice - you'll love them!!!! :)

Well, I'm off to get walking (I need to work off all my snacking by the pool yesterday  )
Have a good day today!!!

good monday morning chicagoland homies

just think, at 5:00 today, there will only be four more workdays this week!

off for a doc appointment this morning.

catch you all later.

hope it is a good day for all of you.

the listings for the disney shows didn't have as much as some prior weeks.
such a disappointment.....

Good Morning everyone! :flower3: Yesterday I had a pretty lazy day! It was nice! It's only monday and i'm ready for it to be Friday

Slo ~ we just watched a movie, nothing to exciting. Glad to hear you had a nice day and the girls had fun in the pool!

Well I better be off! Have a wonderful day everyone!

Morning gang! Way to go Cubbies!!

Bunchkin - Hope you had fun at MSI. We didn't get down to all the events. I love the Joliet Farmer's Market but unfortunately make it down only about once a year or so. If only I didn't have to work on Fridays!

Bummer to all of you with flight changes. Just when you think you have your plans made, something shakes them up!

Slo - How sweet of Stephanie calling you! Enjoy your lecter training.

DS is at Brookfield Zoo camp this week. This is his 5th summer. I can't believe it! When I went to drop him off, I hear a girls voice say "Hi Jon". Of course, all he does is say hi. Doens't go and stand by her or anthing. They had been classmates all year and had lockers 2 apart! When he went to change into his zoo shirt, she came over and introduced herself to me and told me how she knew ds. Too cute!

Zoo camp week is good. I get to leave work 2 hours early to get him picked up!
