:surfweb:

I had a pretty productive day yesterday.
Stephanie and I finished her report and her poster that goes with it. Then I cleaned, cleaned, cleaned for about 4 hours. Vacuumed, dusted, Murphy Oil Soaped all the wood work - I felt really good when that was all done:) I really wanted to be outside, but I had to get that cleaning done, and now it is :teeth:

Mac - I also hate exchanging things, and I always forget until I'm actually at the store. Stephanie got some new jammies for Easter that are way to big, that I need to return, but I keep forgetting

HERSEY - I forget about gift cards too ::yes:: I also have a Kohls one that I received for Christmas - I need to use it for a couple new pairs of capris.

DG - How did everything go with the townhouse yesterday? Did your parents like it?

paint - I'm glad you had a very nice night with your Dfinace the other night:goodvibes I know what you mean about a lingering friend - we used to have one of those too ::yes::

ID - I bet those kids were cold at their track meet :cold: Were they able to cover themselves us, or did they have to stand outside in their shorts?
**I didn't know there was an Ed Debevics in Yorktown Mall - I think that's where we had our last Chicago DIS Meet.

Bunchkin - I would love a shopping trip!!!! :goodvibes
**I"m glad the spagetti dinner was a success :thumbsup2
**Can you give me the exact ingredients again for when you make the Beer Bread with the Italian Cheese. Kevin got some Italian Cheese, but I didn't write everything down when you posted before (I forgot to), and I'm to lazy to go back through the thread and look for it. Thanks!!!!:)

Zero - I"m so glad your DD's birthday party went well on Saturday
**Have a wonderful time at The World :cool1: Be safe, eat lots of good food, take lots of pictures, and make tons of wonderful memories!!!! Let us know how the trip was when you come home!!!! :)

Disneynut - I'm sorry to hear that your DD wasn't feeling well yesterday  How is she today? I will send lots of PD your way for her to feel better soon :wizard:

Well, I'm off to get walking this morning
Have a good day today everyone!!!

Happy Monday:yay:

Back to work this morning. I cannot wait for vacation. I need to rest in a major way.

DD is feeling better. I made her rest all day yesterday. Last night she was back to her old self. DS is not feeling well now. I hope he only has it as long as she did.

Have a great day everyone.

Hope you kids feel better... but with all this weird weather we have been having!

I got the lawn mowed, we got the weed eating done, cleaned the inside of my car out and got some flowers planted. I had a full day yesterday... but i got done what i needed to. :cheer2:

Wow, busy weekend of doing nothing really.

As for the meet, I did not know the Lombard one was there. Has anyone been to both? Is one bigger than the other? I would prefer downtown, just that way there could be more to do for those who want to make a day of it. (I'll never forget taking two 4 year olds to the Sears Tower and then walking to Ed's! What a day!!)

i'm trying to pull up the disney tv schedule for the week.

when i do, i'll post it here.

Hello everyone!

I'm from the burbs ( Romeoville ). Just found this thread :cool1: . Looking forward to getting to know then Chicago area folks here on the DisBoards!

Morning all!!! Sorry about being MIA.
Slo, glad you missed me. Sorry to hear about your bad day Saturday. What a bummer.
I tried to back track a bit and catch up, but you all have had a lot going on here lately.
So, I'll just give a shout out to everyone :yay: and hope all is going well for you all.
Worked 4 days this past week and the kids had lots of practices for ballet, baseball and soccer, so there wasn't time for me to get the car :sad2: . Now DH wants to see if he can cure the check engine light problem in the van before we trade it in. He thinks it is a $50 fix if he does it himself and may help us get a bit more in the trade in. Hopefully, he will get that done this week. May doesn't seem quite as hectic as April was, so here's to hoping I can get this taken care of soon. Otherwise I may say forget it and let's just drive the van til it drops.
What's this about a meet??!!!! Please, Please, Please be my weekend off.:rolleyes1 I would love to get to meet a few more of you. I hate always working the weekends when everything fun is going on.
Well, I have got to get busy today and get some stuff done.
Zero, sure hope you have a great time on your trip!!!
Hope everyone is now well and :grouphug: to all of you with sick family members.
Talk to you all later.

Good Morning everyone!:flower3: We decided not to go for the townhouse :sad2: turns out i should listen to my sister :confused3 we found out that there have been some problems with windows being broken, cars being broken into, and some other misc. problems. one of mike's coworkers has a sister who just moved out of that area b/c she was having alot of problems. who would of thought... it looked like a nice neighborhood. oh well, my heart wasn't set on it... it was nice but i wasn't in love with it. we are just going to take our time looking.

well, gotta run... i really wish it were friday and not monday. have a fabulous day everyone!

oh and :welcome: mike! stop by often!

Hi! Lingering friend did leave, then we went to bfast and came back and took a nap. I am too old to go out for drinks! Then, the kids came back and played outside while I made dinner. Then we all played baseball in the yard. It was a relaxing day!
Bunchkin- Yorktown would be great!
Zero- Have fun!
Tiggerrn- Hi!
Mkike- Welcome!
Dgal- Who knew? Frankfort seems so nice. Trouble making teens! Was it by Frankfort Sq?
Slo- You did have a productive day1 I got some stuff done, but I was still recovering from the night before!
Well, going to take ds to lunch then work on my wedding favors. Later!

Hey everyone! Ducked out for a number of days and now have no idea what's going on!!! Kinda tried to read up though.... Sorry about the rain, Slo. Sorry about the townhouse, dgal.... Cool new hula girl, Mac. :rolleyes1: ... what else....

Erm... just been really busy!! Hate this come/go weather. Today is very beautiful though in our neck of the woods. DD had her 5th birthday party yesterday. Just family, but I ran to the Dollar Deals store to grab something and found they had so much theme decorating stuff that I decided to do an impromptu Lauo (sp?) theme. I was mom-of-the-year when DD saw the streamers, habiscus cutouts on the walls, flamingo balloon, hula girl table topper, hula bobble doll that we used as a cake topper, and fancy straws and cups. Even a blow up limbo stick the kids played limbo with.

Good times. She made out pretty good on her gifts too, and her squeal of delight of "An American Girl doll!" made the effort to buy the broken one and have it repaired really worth it. She really delighted in the hospital bracelet, hospital gown, and balloon that said "Get Well Soon" that came with the doll. We figured out it was Molly, w/o her glasses. It was a great day. :lovestruck:

I want in on the Wall-E meet idea! I was going to suggest the same thing. But the theatre I love is the AMC at Woodfield. Are all AMC's themed like that? All big and pretty and majestic? That's where DD and I saw HM in Concert 3-D, since it didn't show out by us. I don't think I could do an earlier June meet due to funds- we got a lot of stuff going on this month. :guilty:

Have a nice day ladies!

I love squirrels! :teeth:

Hi guys! Wow, what a nice day.

DH is out of town so of course I stayed up too late last night :rolleyes1 . Kids were great this morning getting ready so no one was late :thumbsup2 . Did my morning walk after drop off and it was beautiful out. Took DM to have blood drawn to check her coumadin levels then lunch at Panera. Before I knew it it was time for school pick-up. We're having left overs for dinner and I've promised ice cream after track practice.

Disneynut - sorry your kids are sick, we were there last week and it's no fun.

slo - they could keep their pants and coats on until they were called into the holding area, unfortunately that was at least 4 races early. DD had an Underarmour on but her legs were bare (note to self, need to get her a pair of leggins to wear under her shorts when it's cold)
*The Ed Debevics is next to VonMaur on the side with the theatre. There is also an Egg Harbor.

Mckymousefn - wow, you got a lot done outside. I weeded for an hour, the mowing will have to wait for DH to get back.;)

Mike© - :welcome: Hope you come by often!

Tiggerrn - glad to see you around again!

disneygal - guess it was a good idea that you didn't go for that townhouse. Hope you find something you fall in love with.

juliez - sounds like a GREAT party! Luau themes are so fun.

mac, piglet, paint, Leigh and everyone else - :wave2:

Well, time to warm up those left-overs.
Have a great night.

ETA: Mom just called, her coumadin levels came back over 5 :scared1: . They are supposed to be at 2. She's now off the coumadin and I have to take her in again on Wed for another blood test. :sad2:

Hi all!!

Finally got my hair cut and colored earlier today!! Man, I hate grey hair!!! :headache:
Then I went home picked up both kids and went back to the salon and got their hair cut!! So all of us are nice n' purty (pretty!) now!!! :)

slo Are you talking about the Garlic Bountiful Beer Bread we make? If so, I add at least 2 tablespoons of Garlic Garlic (usually more) and then about a 1/4 to 1/2 cup of Italian cheese. Mix in with the beer and bake as usual.
What did Stephanie have to do a report on?

Tiggerrn Hope your DH can get that check engine light off! :thumbsup2Lets hope the next meets are on your day off! :goodvibes You sometimes DO miss every thing fun!!!

disneygal Trouble maker teens for sure! Or tweens for that matter.

paint Do you live close to your ex so that the kids can visit him often?
I'm guessing that's where you were referring they went to.

Mike Welcome to the Chicago thread!! :)
Lots of us live in or about your area!! :)

Leigh How'd you get hooked on squirells?

piglet The Ed's in the mall is very small compared to the one downtown. A group would have a better chance of getting seated at least near each other at the downtown location.

julez The Wall.E meet won't be till the end of June or early July. The movie doesn't open until the end of June anywho. And I know some peeps here will be on vacation right around then, and we do like to try to accomodate everyone. :thumbsup2 So I hope that works better for you and yours!!

Hi to everyone! Sorry to hear some of you are dealing with sick kids! I've had enough of that lately too so I feel for ya all!!!

Gotta run!!!

Mike @, well that was the closest i could get to the c circled...

hope you stick around and join in.

we are a friendly bunch here.

Anyone celebrate Cinco De Mayo? We had some Mexican food and margarita, then ran a few errands. Not too exciting! Then we returned some duplicate shower gifts to Target. Saving our gcs for a big tv! Deposit on Disneymoon is due June 20th, though. Taking donations...;)

Bunchkin- Yep. We live on the other side of town from x- maybe 10 mins. It is pretty convenient. The kids see him every other wknd, plus Wed. evenings. Date night for df and me! My friend says she needs an xh, too. terrible, I know!:rotfl2:

Just popping in wondering if anyone knows about any gyms that offer a good tumble program?

DD is getting a bit burnt out on gymnastics but loves the tumbling, so I'm trying to look for something that is more focused on just tumbling. I was looking into even possible power tumbling but everything seems to be Southern IL for that. A bit too far of a drive ;)

Since she will be a cheerleader anyway next year, the coach suggested a tumbling class over the summer but left it up to us as to where we wanted to go (umm...that doesn't help!). I have 1 place in mind but searching the internet didn't give me a whole lot of options.

I thought maybe some word of mouth help is in order, there may be some places that just don't have a big web presence but are available.

Thanks.
