Morning all.
Welcome to the new friends we have aboard!!!
NiteOwl-good to see you again.
Sam, sorry for your loss. I hope you are all doing OK.
Rose, congrats to Matthew on his great finish!!! Those boys and their race cars.;)
Carol, glad to hear your are doing better and getting around once again.
I think I am off to get the van washed and vacuumed out today. :cool1: It is finally warm enough that everything won't freeze shut right away.
Then I shall take poochy for a walk again. He has entirely too much pent up energy and I am tired of playing ball in the house.:lmao:
Work was not too nuts yesterday, thank goodness. I think I left my brain at home in bed!!! Needed a brain dead job yesterday for sure!!!!
Later all. Much to do today while the temps are up!!!

Good morning all and welcome to the "heat wave." If it get's any warmer out there, I'll feel like I'm at WDW. :rotfl2:

Morning! It may be warmer, but I just had to argue with DH that the younger two still need to wear winter coats to school.

Rose ~ :cheer2: great news on the winning car! Nathan is going with a "bear" car this year to try and win for theme.

Sam ~ I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Even when it is expected, it is still hard.

Slo ~ No knee brace for me, since it is a knee cap issue they won't help. I continue with PT and hope that the end of this long road is getting close.

Morning! I am playing hooky from Spanish this morning. It is nice to havea class that meets for shorter periods, multiple time a week. Missing one isn't such a big deal. We had a busy weekend! At the last minute, we had some friends come down for the weekend. That pretty much shot all my plans for anything productive! It was fun, though. Then my mom came down (bringing the kids back) and we went for Thai food. Yum!
Sam- to your family on the passing of Dh's mom
Becky- Glad you had a great time at HSM. DD did, too. She said "Troy" took his shirt off and he was cute! I am in trouble! She also got a $12 sno-cone!
Rose- Conrats on the Pinewood Derby! DS did it last year for the first time. His was pretty slow! The scoutmaster's son won. Hmm...
Newbies- Hola! (hey, its an homage to the Spanish class I should be in! )

MOH- I finally told her to just forget about it. What can I do at this point, right? I suggested we get bfast some time this week.

Okay, better shower for work (for some reason they like that:dance3: ).
Have a good day!

Becky- Glad you had a great time at HSM. DD did, too. She said "Troy" took his shirt off and he was cute! I am in trouble! She also got a $12 sno-cone!

:rotfl: I knew that was going to happen because I was on another thread quite a bit ago with someone who knew a performer (in a different cast) but DD had told me she wanted to know *nothing* about it ahead of time, so I kept my mouth shut. I looked over at DD when it happened and she had the mouth open, shocked look on her face. :scared1: She was so not expecting something like that to happen (it was a costume change type of thing). Her comment in the car was "He was ripped" -- :lmao: Although he wasn't quite as cute as the real Troy. Your DD *only* got a $12 sno-cone? I did a whole lot more damage than that. I did the $15 pose with Troy/Gabriella photo shoot (with the others in the background); 2 stuffed animals (the girl in cheerleader outfit/boy in a jacket) that was $44; then the T-shirt that was another $22. HOWEVER, we bought no food, saved our appetite for lunch. I can't complain too much though because some of this was a make-up from not really getting anything at the concert.

Rose -- Congratulations to Matthew!!

Sam -- My sympathies for your loss.

Welcome to all the new members and the old members who have resurfaced.

hi today.. things are being hmm well they are workish..

Tonight I am going to a wake for one of my friends Mom and then to scouts.

I found you guys!! Sorry I've been MIA, but we had a loss in the family last week and we had to do the whole wake/funeral thing and it was a long, difficult week, but we got through it! My DH's Mom died on Tuesday and althoug it was very expected, it was still hard nonetheless. Sam

Hugs and sympathies to you and the family. It is always hard to lose a MOM no matter if it is expectd or not. Great gift for the caregiver. I am sure she will treasure it.

I live in Grayslake by the fairgrounds. Lived here for like 2 years now. .
welcome.. I'm in Palatine.

:flower3: :wave2: Well I am not new but I have been away for a while. I hope everyone has been well.
Hi niteowl. nice to see you how are things at your end??/
Well, guess what.....
Matthew had his Pinewood Derby yest. and got 2nd place for speed in his Den!! :cool1: :woohoo:

Congrats on the winning car.. good luck at District..

We went to Medieval Times today.

\How was Medieval Times? Did the kids like to eat with their hands?

Tomorrow is a pack bridging and Geoff and his OA ceremonies team is doing the cermony and our troop is particapting as we have boys bridging to our troop. Thursday is a college seminar at school and a boy scout spring campereee meeting.. And of course we havelots of work to do for pancake breakfast..

Another shameless plug ----if anyone is interested, our boy scout troop is holding the 18th annual all you can eat pancake breakfast on Saturday 2/9 at United methodist in Palatine. Scouts in uniform are free..

Wow! You were all busy posting over the weekend! So, sad the weekend is over and now I am back to work.

Sam - My sympathies to your family on your loss.

Pinewood Derby folks - Congrats to the winner! And, to the rest - you did your best. My nephew took the big kahuna this weekend down in Central IL. DS took the big prize his second year in scouts. He was thrilled. DS was supposed to meet with the Scout master last night to he could achieve Tenderfoot for the next Red and Green Ceremony. When asked if he was ready...he said "no". What?? He told me he would be ready in two weeks.. Whatever!

Order our Astros tickets for a Disney and Spring Training trip. All tickets have been ordered, reservations made, ADR's are made...now bring on the trip! I need a Disney fix!

Slo- Were your ears burning last night? I was telling Dh about Tonga Toast. I think I am putting it on my not to be missed list this year. I have never had Tonga Toast!

Enjoy the day!
Lori

Hi ya everyone. just stopping by briefly before heading out for the doctor. It looks like a nice day outside.

My brother should have arrived in the World by now. Finally got his Christmas gift to him before he headed to the airport last night. We were starting to stress out a bit since we had gotten him a Disney gift card for his trip. LOL!

We had to wake up abruptly today when the phone rang and it was DD2, who had just locked her keys in her car on her way to clinicals. Carol and I were already just past town when security finally got it open for her.

Don't tell Carol I told ya's, but it's rumored to be her birthday tomorrow. Shhh... ;) :lmao: We already drove up to our jewelers this past weekend and I bought her a new chain for her pendants. Gold prices are through the roof! But, she's a happy little camper, so it's worth it.

Anyway, talk at ya's all later!! Ciao!!

Hiya chicago, a very busy weekend had me wishing Sal still had today off too, but no such luck! haha! I am still putting all his presents away from yesterday (Romans baptism) and trying to catch up with custom orders (my online store) that it just seems I can't get ahead this week. (and it's only monday!!)

Hope you all are doing well!!

Becky- DD told me "Troy" was cute but hairy?!? She got the bear and t-shirt, too. I was just shocked that a sno-cone cost that much!
DMM- What are you selling online?
Momto1- I've never had Tonga Toast, either! Something tells me I'd like, though!

Hi all!!

I just tried cutting something with the wrong side of a razor blade, and I cut my finger instead:eek: Ouch!!! It hurts, and it's bleeding alot. So....that tells me it's time to stop working today:rolleyes: Pretty soon I need to make the girls and I some supper, and then we leave for home at 7pm. It's been a long day, and I'll be glad to have it over.

Tigggerrnnnnn - I hope you got all your errands done today. :)

DS - It is like a heat wave :sunny: It was finally bearable to stand outside and watch Stephanie get on the bus this morning.

piglet - I have a problem with my knee cap too, and my knee brace is cut out with a hole in the top to stick the knee cap through, and isolate it, so it doesn't move around as much - it's very uncomfortable!! You're lucky you don't have to wear one.

paint - I hope you and MOH are able to go out for breakfast, and put this behind you. I also hope she doesn't give you anymore grief:wizard:

Becky - The Troy guy takes his shirt off:eek: I wonder what Stephanie will think of this.

geffric - Good luck with your busy week ahead :wizard:

momto1 - I can hardly wait to hear what your opinion of Tonga Toast will be after you try it. It's my very most favorite, and I can hardly wait until October, so I can eat it again!!:goodvibes

Crissup - We'll keep it quite about CarolAnns birthday tomorrow;)

DMM - How was Roman's baptism yesterday? I hope it went well :)

Have a good night!!

Just me flying by again.......

Ordered our Astros tickets for a Disney and Spring Training trip. All tickets have been ordered, reservations made, ADR's are made...now bring on the trip! I need a Disney fix!

Hi I'm Debbie I live IN Chicago and haven't been around in awhile but I love this gang. I saw you mentioned Spring Training. My DH is a huge Cub's fan and so for his 40th on January 6th I gave him "The Ultimate Road Trip" Cub's spring training in Arizona.
Here is where I booked the package....

Here is where they are staying and playing golf....

I'd love to hear what your plans are if you want to PM me. Dying to talk to someone who has done this. I apologize for not knowing your backround.

Sam - My sympathies also to your family on your loss.

Hi to everyone else out there too!

Oh and we LOVED HSM on Ice and DD (who JUST turned 5) keeps talking about how "the girls just ripped off Troy's shirt". Then I volunteered at her preschool today and ALL 4 girls who went to the show also brought it up with each other! I couldn't believe how it all starts so young!

Tomorrow looks to be interesting weather-wise. Oh well, the slightly warmer weather was nice while it lasted.

hello chicagoland homies.

i have been up and out of the house before dawn this morning.

worked and had to get son from o'hare this evening and my entire schedule is off now.

just now reading the threads and trying to ketchup.

yes, tomorrow is going to be bad where we are.
between 4-5 :00 we will have over 50 mph winds and white out conditions.

weather man said tonight that we will have a 48 degree drop in temps within a 24 hour time period. (from tues to wed)

stay off the streets tomorrow if the storm comes your way.

sweet sleep homies.

:surfweb:

Debbie - I'm glad you enjoyed HSM On Ice :) I'm looking forward to next weekend - it'll be fun :teeth:

DS - The weather does look yucky!! At least it'll still be a little warmer when it's time for me to stand outside to watch Stephanie get on the bus. :)

Mac - I sure hope this storm waits until after I close the store. I don't want to have to drive in to go back to lock up, and I don't want my 16yr old employee driving in it either. Oh well, only time will tell.
**Here's to a more relaxed day today :wizard: :wizard:

Well, I'm off to jump in the shower
Have a good day today!!!

Looks like I'll be trying to beat the storm today by getting as much done at work this morning as I can so I can go home early -- don't know how well that's going to work out.

Otherwise I'm pretty excited about the news that came out yesterday that suggests the Imagination pavilion may be getting a major overhaul sooner rather than later. :cool1:

DS ~ Hope you are able to get home early!

Heck, I hope everyone is able to be safe and sound at home before any bad weather hits. I for one have to work tonight. :sad2: Plan to leave earlier than usual to make sure I get there on time (don't even start until 5:30) and just hope the roads are not bad on my way home. I doubt we will have many customers, can not think of a good reason to go shopping in this stuff.

Slo ~ How is your hand feeling? sorry to read that you cut it.

We survived PTA night at Chuck E Cheese last night. I was in a lot of pain though and took two Vicodin (the second one came an hour later) because one was not helping at all.

OMG! I just read that there had been a bomb threat (it was a prank) called into Oster-Oakview over the weekend in New Lenox. The kids had to go to Haines while the police checked it out. (I guess the threat was left as a voice-mail and not discovered until yesterday morning.) These poor kids! This is the same school where the new playground was burned down earlier this year.

good tuesday morning chicagoland homies........

i see no email notifications again.
i would have checked in sooner if i knew you were all waiting here for me.

rushing around like a chicken with it's head cut off.

bbl

just for fun
