TGIF everyone!

:welcome: to froggygrrrl from another newbie :) .

Please tell me I heard the weather man wrong?!?!!! Is the forecast for another 2-4 inches of snow tonight?! :scared1: I just can't stand it anymore!

Bunchkin - I've heard about those fake teeth. Not too long ago I saw a "documentary" on beauty pagents for kids and they talked about them. One of the kids profiled refused to wear them and they acted like she was the one with the problem :confused3 .

piglet - hope you're feeling better soon!

Hershey - how's the throat?

As for laundry, I'm with a lot of you. I'm better at folding now that I try and do 1 load every day but I still have a small basket for DHs white socks and one for colored socks/underwear - he's on his own with those. It is just one of those jobs that NEVER ends. DS7 has started wanting to earn $$ to add to his Cars collection so he carries the folded laundry from the basement to the bedrooms and he gets $1, after 3-4 times we're off to Walmart for him to buy a new car. ;)

Speaking of laundry, time to go put that load in the dryer. Have a GREAT Friday everyone!!:cheer2:

Hi, all! Welcome to all the newcomers...this is a *gr8* group here!

Thank you all for your continued prayers for Brian's gf. She seems to be making a small amount of progress each day..however, she still hasn't woken up. She was moved out of ICU this week, and the plan is to try to get her in a hosp closer to home, soon. Brian & I were down in Springfield this week visiting her in the hosp there.

My other son, Christopher, finally found his perfect job! He is very, very excited (as he shld be!) to have found a position doing exactly what he wants to do (computer graphics for video games!) but the worried mom in me doesn't like that it's all the way in Nevada! I guess I am just going to have to get up my courage to fly out there & visit him! Mark drove out there with him to get him settled in.

So, we have had a very eventful past few weeks!

I do try to read this thread when I have a chance, and know that I think of you all, often.

So what do you all put your kid's loose teeth in when they come out?

LOL, I had all my baby teeth saved in something, and then when I was going through my stuff to move, I found them all, and like, ewwww!, and threw them away. :scared: :rotfl2: I had also kept things like retainers and such, and threw those away as well. Those are things I don't need or want!!!! :scared1:

DMM - Love the Pocahontas story! :cutie:

Love everyone else's stories as well! :goodvibes

Donna - I'm sorry about your DS gf. I hope she wakes up soon.

:wave2: Hello all!

Baby Teeth - I never kept them just gave them to the Tooth Fairy.. One day when Geoff was getting a bit old for the Tooth Fairy.. he mentioned that Robbie told everyone at school that the Tooth Fairy was your dad.. so Geoff wanted to believe the story about the tooth fairy but the kids at the playground know so much more than parents..

So I said- well maybe Robbie Dad is the Tooth Fairy.. he doesn't work outside the house so maybe he is... that worked!! From then on. the Tooth Fairy was Robbie's Dad..

I like all the teeth stories!!

Although, I wasn't referring to keeping them in something permanently but putting them in something for the fairy pickup!! :thumbsup2

I do have each kids first lost tooth, but that's it! :)

Leigh You kept all your teeth!!??? GROSS!!! :rotfl2:

Tiggerrn Hope your DH feels better soon......for your own sanity!! :thumbsup2

Donna I'm still keeping good thoughts for Brian's girlfriend!
Congrats to Christopher on his new job!!! But please tell me he didn't move to Vegas though!!!!

Kid's bring their report cards home today.
Both kids are excited because we pay $$ for good grades here. :)

Really report cards eh? How come I didn't hear anything about it. Sounds like someone is keeping secrets, but more likely Megan didn't know. She's oblivious to such things.

Happy Weekend everyone. I haven't been around much. Been really busy up on the podcast board. I love the DIS podcast and the people up there are really CRAZY! But, I can't forget my good friends down here.

Hey don't forget to set your clocks ahead an hour on Sunday, lest you be late for church!

Megan's baby teeth are in a small glass and pewter tooth holder that I was given at my baby shower. I have it hidden in my sock drawer and someday when she's caught on to the whole tooth fairy business, I can give them all to her. My Mom gave me mine.

So Bunchkin, ever heard of a baby being born with teeth!? I had teeth when I was born. Two little front teeth that were pulled when I was two so my baby teeth could come in. Weird eh??

I am going to head back and read up on what I've been missing around here! I hope everyone has a nice weekend! Stay warm! Can't believe I'm still saying that!

irish dancer The throat is fine, thanks for asking. It has blossomed into a very nice cold.

Donna I hope your son's girl friend continues to improve

Sam I really like your ticker :thumbsup2

I think the snow is going way north and on the other side of the lake. At least that is what I heard this morning.

Hi gang! I am back from DC. The flights were OK - left on time, landed on time but were bumpy! It was 70 when I landed and in the upper 50's the next 2 days. Saw a couple of Cherry Blossom Trees in bloom and some pansies, too. It felt like spring!

Welcome to all the newbies! Come and visit us often!

DS11 is dentally delayed as we joke with him. He still has 7 baby teeth to lose. He just lost 2 in the past month or so. Since he is too big for the childish pillow for the tooth fairy (and probably too old for the money, too!), he uses an envelope that he addresses to the tooth fairy and leaves outside his bedroom door. We snatch the tooth and put the money in the envie.

Going to the spring craft fair in Sandwich tomorrow. At least my mom told me it was tomorrow. I hope she is right. I probably won't be much but it is a good way to get in the spring mood.

Time change this weekend -bleck, bleck, bleck!

It seems my guys didn't do much while I was gone. I have a huge pile of mail to go through and I am sure laundry. It looks like the dog had an accident that wasn't cleaned up very good (or at all?) that I will need to work on. I left dh a note to pay a bill on-line. The note still sits here. I guess I better get busy instead of hanging out on the puter tonight.

Keep warm and wish the snow away!
Lori

All this tooth talk! Ds brought home his front tooth in an envelope! I got to hear the whole dramatic story. There was blood, which is always exciting! He looks so cute. Hopefully, he won't have a big dorky front tooth in the wedding pics!
Born with baby teeth?!? I still have a baby tooth. They keep telling me they could pull it and somehow pull the adult one down with braces. Um. No thanks. Hasn't affected my modeling career yet!;)

:surfweb:

I'm up early this Saturday morning, because Stephanie and I have a retreat at church from 9:00 - 11:30 today. This retreat is in preparation for STephanie's first communion - it should be very informative, which is nice, because I wasn't raised Catholic, and this is all very new to me.

paint - I hope you did well on your midterm :wizard: Enjoy being on break!!!

piglet - I'm sorry you are still not feeling well  I'll send some more PD your way to feel better soon :wizard:

Bunchkin - Yep, Stephanie lost her to front, bottom teeth at the exact same time when she was 4 1/2. It was kinda funny, when she went to her first dentist appt, I told him that these teeth were hanging by a thread (they were so loose, that they were grossing me out, and she wouldn't pull them out, because she was young, and was nervous), and I asked if he could yank him out. He agreed, and he gave her some laughing gas (she was so loopy:laughing: ) and it took no effort for him to pull those suckers out:rolleyes: Needless to say, the toothfairy was extrememly generous for those teeth - $5 a tooth :thumbsup2
**Did you put the cheese on top of the bread, or in the mix?
**To answer your QOTD, both girls have this little pillow that shaped like a tooth. On the back of this little pillow is a small pocket that holds the tooth, and then the money after the toothfairy comes - it works out great!!! :thumbsup2

Tiggggggern - I"m sorry your DH is sick :guilty: I'll send some PD his way to feel better soon:wizard:

ID (my new abbrev for irish dancer) - I hope we don't get anymore snow - I just can't handle anymore :sad2: I've never hated a winter more than this one.

Donna - Congrats to Christopher!!!! :cheer2: That's awesome news!!!! But I'm sorry he's so far away :guilty: I wish him tons and tons of luck!!! :wizard: Please keep us posted on how he is doing.
**Thanks for keeping us updated about Brians GF. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers  She's much to young to have to go throught his:guilty:

Sam - I have heard of babies being born with teeth, but I never knew one until I read your post :teeth: I'm surprised they were pulled out when you were 2 and not earlier though.
**Hey, did I tell you I got the Apple Bread from Market Day? I have some apples in the house, so maybe I'll make it this weekend :scratchin

HERSEY - I'm sorry you have a cold :guilty: I'll send some PD your way, for that cold to go away soon :wizard:

momto1 - Welcome home!!! I'm sorry you came home to a lot of work:guilty: Good luck getting caught up this weekend :wizard:

To everyone else - :wave2:

Well, I gotta go get ready
Have a good day today!!!

Howdy!!

:welcome: to all the newbies on the thread!
There's been a lot this past week or so!

So what do you all put your kid's loose teeth in when they come out?

DD has this little box that is for loose teeth. It came with a Tooth Fairy Barbie doll we got her a long time ago before she ever lost her 1st tooth. It's funny that she still uses the box even though she no longer plays with Barbie dolls, let alone owns any anymore. We sold all of the dolls, clothes, vehicles, etc at our last garage sale. ALL of it got bought up quick!

DH put DS's tooth in one of our business envelopes!!!
I said to him, "Is that all you could come up with??". MEN!! :headache:
So I think I need a more suitable loose tooth holder for him!

So what do you all use???
paint I bet your DD will be the cutest jack-o-lantern ever at a wedding!! princess: ;) You could be crazy and get her those fake teeth that those pageant moms get for their little girls to wear when they compete!! Have you ever heard about that? :sad2:
WOW!!! I can't believe Stephanie was just 4 1/2 when she lost her first tooth!!! That's the earliest I've ever heard anyone loosing a tooth! :teeth

Gotta run!
The school bus should be here soon!

here is another story about teeth for you.
my middle son was very advanced in somethings.
he had 2 teeth when he turned 2 months old.
i nursed him and by the time he was 11 months old, he had all his baby teeth in.

ouch was said more than once in that first year.

some son lost a baby tooth at age 4 and had his first permanent tooth at 4.5

and first root canal at age 7.....

i have all the baby teeth. the dentist gave me little cases that have printed on the top, "my teeth"

of course when i die all those little momentums will be tossed in the trash can. i am the only one in the family that saves things....

irish dancer The throat is fine, thanks for asking. It has blossomed into a very nice cold.

Donna I hope your son's girl friend continues to improve

Sam I really like your ticker :thumbsup2

I think the snow is going way north and on the other side of the lake. At least that is what I heard this morning.

if you mean me, yes....lake effect snow since 7 this morning.

it stopped around noon but who knows when it will start up again here.

hope all you chicagoland homies have a great weekend.
don't forget to change your clocks.
don't want you missing sunday school or church tomorrow.

Happy Saturday!!

I had the worst night yesterday. I had the worst case of indigestion! Holy smokes it was bad, so bad that I considered going to the hospital. :sad1:
And I didn't have anything bad for dinner so I don't have a clue where it came from. The whole right side of my chest area and ribs AND back were killing. This happened to me like a year ago or so and at that time I did go to the hospital. Of course they showed nothing major wrong with me and eventually the pain went away (they thought it might have been my galbladder). So last night I decided to ride it out and eventually all the pain did go away. And I finally got to bed at 2:30am!!! It was the worst pain!!

slo I put the cheese into the bread mix with the other ingredients. Cheese on top would burn.
Is the apple bread you bought from Market Day a dry mix you add to? I must have not seen that one.
The tooth pillows sound cute. :)

momto1 Glad to hear you had nice weather! Too bad you came home to more work! ;)

Sam I have heard of people being born with teeth. Does your mom have any pictures with you smiling as a baby? :teeth:

paint I can't believe you STILL have baby teeth!! :)
And now you'll have 2 kids without teeth at the wedding?

By me it is so sunny right now!! I cannot believe this weather!!!

Off to the store!
Have a great day all!!! :wave2:

I like all the teeth stories!!

Although, I wasn't referring to keeping them in something permanently but putting them in something for the fairy pickup!! :thumbsup2

I do have each kids first lost tooth, but that's it! :)

Leigh You kept all your teeth!!??? GROSS!!! :rotfl2:

Yeah, it is gross! :scared: I used to leave a note that said something like, please leave my tooth but some money too. :rotfl2: :rotfl: I guess I was a very direct child? :lmao:

And I had a pillow like slo does. It wasn't in the shape of a tooth, though, just a little yellow pillow of some sort with lace around the edges and a pocket on the front for the tooth/money. I probably still have that somewhere. I'm definitely a saver!

Whats for dinner?!

We're grilling out today !hahaha!! it's so cold but we're dying for it.

Mini burgers with avacado and tomato slices and Monterrey Jack cheese!

i grill out on our patio in all kinds of weather.

snow, rain, sleet or sunshine...........weather has never stopped me.

Bunchkin: sorry about your pain, I too get this and have had my gallbladder tested several times... it always comes out fine so I just stopped telling the doc and now Rolaids and Malox are permanent fixtures in my med. cabinet!

Disney Mommy Michelle: I could never barbeque in this weather. I let the dog out for 5 minutes and I have to come back in and be under 3 blankets just to warm up again! :rotfl: But now that you mention it i may need to order some take out barbeque... it sounds REALLY good! I can't wait for warm weather!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

I have all of Alex's teeth. I plan on giving them to him when he is old and needs them back :rotfl2: .

Hi gang! Dh is out bbqing right now. I got the most awesome pork chops at Dominick's today for $1.00 a pound. They will surely be yummy!

Speaking of teeth - ds is getting in a molar, I guess. He has been complaining about pain on and off for a couple of days. DH remembered the orajel. Baby orajel for the 11 year old is working wonders.

Cleaned out some of ds clothes today. So it is off to Once Upon a Child tomorrow to see if they want to buy any. The $$ always goes to the "something special to do at Disney fund". Every little bit adds up.

Did you hear about the snow in Ohio? I am glad it isn't us getting 20-25 inches today. No more snow...no more snow...

Bedroom clocks are changed. Can't forget the rest of the house later. Do you find spring forward hard? I don't like losing that hour of sleep. Now...falling back is a different story!

Have a good rest of the weekend.
Lori
