:surfweb:
It's 5:20am on a Saturday morning, and here I am posting :faint:
I'm up early, because I want to be at work by 7:00am - I have so much to do :faint: I wish, I wish, I wish, I had someone else with me that knew how to do things, so they could help me. Oh well, I'm not complaining about having business - I love that!!!! I'm just tired, and I'm getting more tired :faint: My job is very physical at times, and yesterday I didn't sit down one time between 10am - 7:30pm. Today will be more of the same :faint:

HERSEY - Thank God for the internet is right!!!!! ::yes:: 100% off all the girls gifts from Santa were bought online:thumbsup2 The boxes at work keep getting taller and taller - it's pretty funny!!!!
**Have fun at your family Christmas party tomorrow :)

Crissup - We like the crunchiness of the corn being frozen, plus, the cold is a nice counterbalance with all the hot food:thumbsup2 . Yep, we love it, so you can post all day long on how we should cook it, but it's not going to change my mind;)

Mac - Are you going to be able to make it to church this weekend? I'm going tonight, so I"ll cover your back for you:thumbsup2

Wendy - Have a great time on your trip!!!!:cool1: I can hardly wait to hear all about it when you return.

ID - Stephanie is always a challenge to get out the door for school too ::yes:: She's hard to wake up, and she moves so slow while getting ready, and then I have to be a like a mean drill sergeant:rolleyes: She truly loves going to school, but she would be much happier if it started at 10am, instead of 8:10am:laughing:

Leigh - I"m glad you are doing well:) Good luck with getting all your things done this weekend.:wizard:

Bunchkin - Wrapping is my least favorite part of Christmas - I hate it!!!! I have much to do, so good luck to both of us :teeth::wizard:
**I love the sub idea - I should do that for New Years Eve :scratchin
**Have fun at the Girl Scout function today :)

DG - I'm sorry your dad needs surgery right before Christmas:guilty: I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers:angel:

momto1 - What did you buy for the teachers? This year, all the teachers are getting $5 gift cards to Dunkin Donuts. I haven't had time to go out, I don't have time to wrap gifts, so they are all getting gift cards:thumbsup2

Well, now that the furnace has kicked in, and I've got some coffee in me, I should go get ready for work.
Have a great day today everyone!!!

Howdy!!

Still no wrapping done here, no time for it yet.
Did clean this morning though! Vac, mop, vac the couches, made a coffee cake. Not too shabby.

slo The walk-in closet in our bedroom is hard to walk in to because of the presents piling up in there!! I really need to wrap. That way I can at least put some of the wrapped ones under my bed. I won't stick them there unless they are wrapped. We've had prying eyes look there once before!!!
Hope you get all your work done. Do you have things promised by a certain date?
I ususally do gift cards for the teachers. Either Target or Chili's restaurant. This year the room mom's for both kids are accepting $ donations to buy the teachers one big $ gift card. I'm going with this option this year. It will save me money!!! :)

I went and opened a new bank account last week and the man who helped me was a ex-Disney castmember. He was full of info!! I asked him where all the costumes were, because if I ever go on the MK tour one thing I really want to see is all the costumes!!! He told me they are all under Ariel's Grotto. I know I'll be thinking of that from now on whenever I walk near, or over, that area!!!! :goodvibes :mickeyjum

Slo ~ Hope that you are able to get it all done and that you can get some rest soon.

Wendy ~ Have a great time on your trip!

DG ~ some :wizard: for your dad

Had a good time shopping yesterday. Going out there we ran into some lake effect snow, but it was all done by the time we got back to the car. It was nice to spend the day with my mom.

Heard that the news for my grandma is looking up. They have managed to get the tremors down to morning only and now they last no more than 15 minutes. She is also aware of how bad the depression is, and is fighting hard to get better. Still a ways to go, I am just hoping she gets to be home for Christmas as it was always her favorite holiday.

I actually took a cab from Union Station to my office, which is like 2 blocks.

I had an information security forum downtown at the Palmer House in October. So, one morning I decided I would hoof it from the train to the PH. Whew! What a reminder of how out of shape one is! Needless to say I took a cab back. LOL

Thanks for all the congrats for Jen, everyone! :) I know she's so looking forward to getting a job and starting her career. :)

Thanks for all the congrats for Jen, everyone! :) I know she's so looking forward to getting a job and starting her career. :)

Yes, thanks so much everyone for the congratulations! Today was her recognition and pinning ceremony. It was so nice hearing the professors and fellow students speak about the program and how hard the students have all worked for this degree.

Tomorrow is graduation day, and hoping this rain stops! They have a few events including mass, ceremony and two receptions. We are going out to dinner after all the events. Can't believe my baby is graduating!

I got a lot done yesterday, but not as much as I wanted to get done. I have 3 jersey's left to sew done, and 2 of them I already ordered the mats for a couple of weeks ago (I was waiting for the jerseys to return, because the customer needed to iron them), and when I went to sew them down, both the yellow mats have an orange stripe/line that went from the top to the bottom (something with production). I was so mad!!!!!:headache: Because now I can't start these things until Wednesday night (the new mats won't be in my door until Wed. afternoon), which throws everything off:mad: I get so mad when these companies send me unacceptable things:mad: This line is something that should have been noticed while they packaged these items. Well, there's no needed complaining, it's not going to change things. So instead of doing that, I sat at my very neglected desk, and did some organizing and paying bills. But, outside of the bad yellow mats, I was able to get a lot of other work done, which was a great thing!!!!

Today, we are going out to breakfast, going to the NW Indiana Visitors Center where they have things from The Christmas Story movie (including Santa on the mountain with the big slide - I"m hoping the line will not be to long for the girls to see him), and then we are going to the mall to finish our Christmas shopping. Then when we come home, we are doing a little baking, and then, if there's time, we'll watch The Polar Express - it's a very filled day!!!!:)

Crissup and CarolAnn - A huge congradulatioins to your DD :cheer2: :cheer2: I hope you are having a good time with all the graduation celebrations:cool1:

Bunchkin - Yes, everything that needs to be done for Christmas, is promised for Christmas (or another earlier date if needed). This is the time that gets stressful, because my materials only come once a week, and now I have to double order, because if I make a mistake, than I'm screwed!!! Generally, these companies let me return the unused material, and I"m hoping they continue that this year.
**Do you enjoy wrapping? I really hate it!!! I'm going to continue wrapping early tomorrow morning before I go to work - it's the only time I have. I guess I could do it at night, but that's my down time, and I need to have that, or I don't sleep well.

piglet - I"m glad you had a nice time shopping, and that your Grandma is starting to get better!!!:) I will continue to keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

Well, I guess I should go get ready for the day - have a great Sunday!!!!!

Good morning! Is everyone's snow melting :woohoo: Yes Yes I know we are getting more tomorrow, but it tomorrow and not today

I still have a little baking to do this morning. I go this afternoon by my cousin for our annual chirstmas party.

I need to go get the cake in the oven.

Hi, all...

Thank you for the reports on last weekend's DIS meet at Doorway to Dreams. Sounds like everyone who went had a good time.

Slo, good luck with getting everything finished. I am like you, wrapping is probably my *least* favorite part of getting ready for Christmas. And, Brian's birthday is on December 30th, so I need to wrap stuff for his b-day, too. (I always make it a point not to wrap his birthday presents in Christmas paper!) Once again, I'm so sorry to hear the news about the little dog!

Bunchkin...you wear me out reading all the things you do...how are you doing after your fall??

Hersey, hope you have a great time at the party! Have you finished all of your Christmas shopping?

CarolAnn/Crissup...congratulations to Jen! Sounds like an exciting, busy time for all of you.

DisneyG...thoughts and prayers for your dad's surgery. Please let us know how it turns out.

Mac...I'm glad you were feeling well enough to go out for church today!

I would appreciate any continued thoughts/prayers for Mark's sister...she got some test results and things are not looking good right now..she is scheduled for a new round of chemotherapy starting in January. Thanks to all!

Shout out to all Chicago area friends...hope you all are able to enjoy some quality time with family and friends the next few weeks.

Hersey Have fun at your family holiday gathering! What all did you bake?

slo I don't mind wrapping actually. I like doing presents up with nice fabric bows on occasion too, but it's not the norm.
The Christmas Story thing you're going to sounds really neat. We love watching that movie. :)
Hope your supplier lets you return all the extras this year.

CarolAnn & John Hope today was wonderful for all of you! :goodvibes

Donna My foot is getting better. I was on it for 5 hours straight yesterday at DD's Girl Scout event so that aggrevated it but today it's better.
Sorry to hear Mark's sister is needing chemo again. DH's mom is going through chemo right now.

Dinosaur and Mission: Space.

Modern Marvels - Walt Disney World
Journey underground and backstage at the technological marvel that
is Walt Disney World. Enter a make-believe world spanning some 27,000
acres, brought to life by cutting-edge technology. What was once
Florida swampland now boasts the world's largest theme park. The ride
technology ranges from space-age centrifuges to enhanced motion
vehicles powered by 3,000 PSI of hydraulic pressure. And hundreds of
audio animatronics brought to life through the power of pneumatics,
hydraulics, and electrical systems. Walt Disney World is made up of
four separate theme parks, each with its own innovations: the 107-acre
Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney-MGM Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom.
The four parks are all part of a megaplex of a resort. Twice the size
of Manhattan, it was the final vision and crowning achievement of a
man who spent more than 40 years pushing the limits of technology to
create entertainment magic: Walt Disney.

It's a very very icy world around here :cold:
In fact, I'm sitting here with the phone by me, in case the school calls about a delay. My driveway is a pure ice skating rink, so I"m sure the roads are the same way. I'm sure the busses can handle it, but I don't know about all the highschool kids that drive - it'll be interested to see what happens.

Have you all been having a lot of crazy wind?
It's been so windy around here - big wind!!!! Stephanie's basketball net blew over yesterday, and that thing never blows over  (in fact it broke - she's not happy). Our Christmas decorations are all knocked down - it's alot of wind here!!!!!

That Christmas Story thing we went to was such a disappointment - I was expecting so much more. The girls didn't even want to wait to see Santa - I was so surprised:eek: We were there for maybe 20 minutes, and then we went to the mall. I got all the Christmas presents I needed at the mall, and then we came home. I baked my cookies, got a pizza, and then the girls and I watched The Polar Express on super surround sound - I love doing this!!!!:goodvibes It was a very productive and good day!!!!:)

HERSEY - How was your Christmas party yesterday? I hope it was fun!!!!:santa:

Donna - Kevin's birthday is the 28th, so I know what you mean about making sure the birthday gifts are not in Christmas paper. He tells me how other's wouldn't do that when he was a kid, and how much he didn't like it, or how others would just say it was a combo gift. I always make sure he has a proper birthday, because he always wishes his birthday was some other time in the year. We celebrate his birthday on New Years Eve when everyone is over - it's tradition now :teeth:
**I'm so sorry to hear abour Mark's sister:guilty: I will continue to pray for her:angel:

Bunchkin - I"m glad your foot is getting better :)
**We enjoy watching The Christmas Story movie too, and we watch it every Christmas Eve when we are waiting for the girls to fall asleep, so Santa can come:santa:

Mac - Thanks for the listings :)

Well, I'm off to wrap presents this morning.
Even though I'm working more than last year - I"m actually feeling a little more organized than last year - I like that!!!!! I want everything wrapped and done, so I'm not stressing to much when it gets close to Christmas Eve.

Have a good day!!!

Good morning!

Slo The sound of the wind and ice kept me up last night as well.

My driveway is not as bad as I first thought. It has a layer of snow over the ice. I just threw salt down, I thought if I shoveled it would make it worse. :confused3 I took the day off today so I'll go out later and shovel. Up the ice and resalt.

My little christmas party was good. My cousin doesn't seem to be doing well.

Well I have to make sure Alex is moving so he can go to school and I can go back to bed.

Icy here too! It rained well into the night and with those falling temps we ended up getting a ton of ice.

Lauren is sick....again! Her classroom has been full of sickies she said.
Hopefully she'll get passed it before weeks end AND won't spread it to the rest of us here. :)

Yesterday I got up really early and went Christmas shopping. I was out the door by 6:30am!! Had a great coupon for Kohl's, 20% off of everything even sale prices. Went to Bed, Bath & Beyond too. Or as Larry the Cable Guy calls it: Beer, Bed & a Blonde.

Did anyone catch all the old 60's & 70's live action Disney movies on TCM yesterday? Then they also had a documentary about how Walt made all those films. It was filled with all kinds of info I had no clue about!! Really neat!
We watched Son of Flubber and The Apple Dumpling Gang.

slo I hope the basketball net is repairable. We have so much ice on the front our house that you can't see out the windows! :3dglasses
We are wrapping presents here today too! I want to get it done before weeks end since the kids will be off of school after that.

hersey Sorry to hear about your cousin.
What kinds of yummy treats did you bring?

mac Thanks for the listings!! ::yes::

DMM :wave2:

Have a good day! :flower3:

Morning all! I haven't been here in some time and I'm afraid I am out of the loop a bit.
Bunchkin, seems as though you are gimpy again. Hope you are mobile and well soon. Hope Lauren is feeling better shortly. Kyle was sick 2 weekends in a row. The first time I didn't think much of it, flu or whatever. But when it happened the following weekend, I decided enough already and he went to the Dr. Not strep!! Thank goodness. But since he'd had it twice, the Dr. did give him antibiotics. He is his old self again. Not always sure that is a good thing. Kellie never got any of it.:worship:
Slo, wrapping here today, too. Too cold and slippery to bother with heading out to shop. And of course, since it was 50 degrees yesterday, I had to work.:rolleyes1 Guess I will finish up with my stuff later this week. I will head back over to Southlake Mall. Maybe I will stop in to say hello if I am not hurrying home. Probably Wed. since kids have choir after school that day. Gives me an extra hour.
Donna, sorry to hear Mark's sister is undergoing chemo. I will keep your family in thoughts and prayers.
Well, I best get moving on my wrapping.
Hello to Mac, and Carol, Hersey, Crissup, DMM, Piglet and everyone. I will try to go back to catch up better later if I finish wrapping in time.
Oh, anyone decide if they wanted to trade addresses and Christmas cards here? I would love to if anyone wants to PM me their address.

Hi everyone that said hi to me! Can you believe the weather today? Yes it's cold, but that sun just makes it a happy day! we're off to sign up for Spring Skate lessons and Gahhh FAmily Karate! hahaha!!

Hello to Mac, and Carol, Hersey, Crissup, DMM, Piglet and everyone. I will try to go back to catch up better later if I finish wrapping in time.

Don't feel bad. I've been so bad that I've been lurking and not posting anything, aside from the occassional quick blurb. Even on my own site, I've been pretty scarce for the past year. If it weren't for Cleo keeping things running over there, it probably would have died a year ago.

I sometimes think about saying "Get well to all sickies, happy birthday to all birthday peoples, etc). LOL!! But then I think that would look like I didn't care enough about anyone to remember their personal dates. I worry too much about stuff at times. LOL!!

Anyway, good to see you back. You, Slo and Bunchy are among the first ones I notice missing when I don't see ya's around for a while.

Can you guys believe how close Christmas is?! Where did this year go?? I'm looking at photos of my kids and I just can't believe it! We spent saturday in the City picking up our photos from the studio. They are really great! I love how they all came out. I'm still cringing at the amount, but i'm hoping that as the years go by and I remember them at this size I will think how worth it it was in the end. Right?? Right??? Pllleaaasseee tell me i'm right! hahaha! I just wanted something of a higher quality than the Sears portraits we were always doing! This is the collage of 4x6s, the big family portrait is being framed right now and then we had an album done of all the 4x6s that we didn't frame.

ljkui.jpg

The glare is nasty right now! haha! Sorry!
