Two papers down, one test this afternoon, and I am done!!!!
The test will be tough, and I appreciate all the and well wishes so far!
Bunchkin- Hope the ankle is better. I had a bad sprain years ago and now I have to be extra careful. That ankle is weak and twists easily.
Slo- Glad Sophie hurries up. Our puppy refuses to come in. He sniffs the whole yard, his nose stuck to the ground. I don't know if he can't find the scent as easily or what because of the snow. I have to trick him in with treats, enforcing the bad behavior.
gef- Chocolate martinis and I aren't friends. They did me wrong once!
piglet- Congrats to ds! You should be proud. Attitude is everything!

Hi everyone! Oh man! I totally forgot about the meet! The funny thing is that we were at that mall anyways! hahaha!! We did some Christmas shopping and then left for dinner at Weber Grill that night! It was great!

Sandy, I think it was you, but I could be totally wrong that mentioned vacationing at the Atlantis resort? I just got an email about a special they are running now.
It starts at 199 per person per night package that includes 2 sessions of interacting with the dolphins. I didn't read too much about it, but here is the link:

Lowery's sounds yummy! I have heard the advertising on WLIT, too. Maybe, I will have to start a new Christmas tradition.

DS starts his YMCA basektball league tonight. When they called this morning to let us know the time of practice, they asked dh to coach the team. This is not what dh needs right now since he is super committee to the baseball team. I just know that when I get home from work, he will be coaching 12 year old boys basketball.

Here is a Puppy Chow Recipe.

Muddy Buddies or Puppy Chow
9 C. Chex cereal
1 C. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 C. creamy peanut butter
1/4 C. margarine
1/4 t. vanilla
1 1/2 C. confectioner's (powdered) sugar

Put the powdered sugar in a plastic bag or big bowl with lid and set aside. Melt choc chips, peanut butter & margarine in microwave. Add vanilla & mix thoroughly and then stir in cereal until coated. Work quickly, before the mixture cools off too much! Add the chocolate coated cereal to the bag/bowl of powdered sugar and shake until all pieces are coated with sugar. Dump/spread out onto a baking sheet and allow to cool/set. Store in air-tight container.

mac & slo I forgot that I never mentioned on this thread that I hurt my ankle! I mentioned it on the meet thread when I had to say that we were not going to be able to make it to the meet.
This is how I hurt myself:
I just had come home and I was actually trying to squeeze out of my shoe by using my other foot as leverage to get out of my shoe and started to loose my balance.
I couldn't grab for anything to catch myself because I was #1) holding a drink in one hand, #2) was also holding a huge folder under my arm, #3) had my huge purse around the wrist of the other arm and, #4) was talking on my cell phone (which was in the other hand) to Hersey!!!
So I landed on my rear end nearly missing the wall with my head, the pop flew to the rug....etc....you get the picture. So I picked up the phone, which fell too, and told Hersey I dropped my drink. I hadn't told her yet I fell.
Needless to say, because I had my bare/socked foot bent in a position to take off the shoe on the other foot, it was over stretched as I twisted my ankle.
My ankle is better. My arch is still in a lot of pain. It hurts to stand for too long on it and to walk for very long.

Never a dull moment around here!




momto1 Thanks for posting that recipe. DD has had it at Girl Scout camp many times and loves it.



paint My right ankle has been twisted and sprained so many times that I freak out when it gets snowy and icy! Luckily, that wasn't the ankle I hurt last week!

What a yucky morning!!!!!!
I wish I could just crawl back in bed and stay there!!!!!

This year I took the extra Christmas socks out of the attic, so I could pre-stuff them, so yesterday morning I did Stephanie's stocking This morning I'm going to Wal-Mart before I go to work, and I'm getting the rest of Katie's stocking items, and then I will stuff her's tomorrow. Now I have 2 less things to do on Christmas Eve Why didn't I think of this in past years????


My mom and dad took Daisy to The University of Illinois yesterday and they did not receive good news Daisy has several tumors and they are bleeding inside her. The university said there's nothing they can do They gave Daisy about 2 months to live As sad as this is, I'm glad that my mom doesn't have to make any decisions about putting her to sleep. Daisy can go home and live her life until she's to sick to go on (I guess eventually this will happen), and then my mom will have to put her to sleep. I'm just praying now that she can make it through Christmas, so my mom and dad can have one last Christmas with her.


Mac - Are you doing alot of online shopping this year?

paint - If Sophie had a warmer coat, she would want to be out too. But with her having hair, and not fur, she gets cold so easy. The poor thing shakes so bad, that I've had to wrap her up to get her warm.

Nathan was given permission to bring his trophy to school today. His teacher and the principal both want to see it. Mr. K (the principal) told Nathan that an award for his great attitude is far better than a MVP award. That made Nathan all happy again.

I found out yesterday that my grandma (dad's mom) is in real bad shape and is in a mental facility right now. I knew she had her second cornea replacement surgery, and it did not take, but did not know she was doing bad in other ways. Guess she has been having body tremors (thought Parkinson's but they ruled that out) and the doctors feel it is psychological, thus her being hospitalized. From the sound of it, they are not even sure they can help her.

The semester is over! I feelgoodabout the test I took yesterday, too. Now I have to plan the dc's holiday parties for school. Why do I volunteer? I have three other moms who said they'd help. Any ideas on a gingerbread theme? We are doing houses, decorate and eat cookies, a craft, and a game or two.
slo- The puppy is in his defiant teen years now. He squeezes out of the fence, eats junk, then throws up leaves! He also looks at us, then goes the other way whenhe is to come in! Now that he's about housebroken, he is being a brat! Btw,I am so sorry about your parents' dog. As annoying as they are sometimes, we still love them (much like family).
Bunchkin- Oooh...a "pop" is never good!
momto- Let the baking begin! The problemis, I sample to much...one for this cookie tray, one for this basket, two in my mouth! I did go to the gym today, though! Baby steps...

Morning guys! Well, Illinois has made it in the news again for it's wonderful politicians. Hopefully we'll do better selecting our next governor.

We finally finished the tree last night, Sunday got too busy. I just love Christmas and I love sitting in the living room with all the lights off and just the tree lit up.

geffric - thanks for the info on the Chocolate buffet, sounds yummy. Wonder if there are any reservations left, if not I'm going to pencil it on the calendar for next year.

Hersey - so sorry you're sick, we've had the cold around here too. I think we're all well now (knock on wood).

Bunchkin - Ouch, lots of PD for you , hope your foot gets better soon!

Dan - thanks for the meet photos, wish I was there! Will have to make my way up there to check out the new CR model.

slo - I thought the Lia Sophia stuff was expensive too, wish they had that same deal at the show I went to. I would have been able to get some things, oh well.
*The girls had a great time sledding/snow boarding but got home too late to do the tree (we go to my in-laws every Sunday for dinner).
**There certainly are a lot of options for dinner, unfortunately a lot of them are $$$$ so we save them for special occasions.
***So sorry that your parents didn't get better news on Daisy, I hope she is comfortable and pain free in the time that is left and that your parents get some quality time with her.

The weather is bad.. so i was gonna just stay in tonight but Eric has to get his drums for practice to his friend's house and go to a concert at HArper tonight and Geoff has a boy scout thing.. so Guess I'll be driving around..

I finished buying Katie's stocking stuffers yesterday, and now I get to stuff it this morning, and then that's done I'm going to wrap Santas gifts at work, so that means I may not have to be up until 2am on Christmas Eve


Thank you to all for your kind words regarding my family and their dog. I will keep you updated on how things are going, and will probably ask for continued prayers when things get worse for Daisy or when Daisy passes. This is a very sad time for my mom and dad
