Oh Andy that is fantastic news! But please don't tell me you are beating us to Florida??? Mike (bob) can't retire till 2007!!! We will be moving to Sarasota in July/2007 & I am counting the days!

Should my actual retirement date be Janaury 1, 2006, I hope to be in Florida within a week of my retirement, if not sooner!!!

Good Morning Everyone:
I haven't felt like being on the boards lately. I am coming around........I have had a difficult couple of weeks myself. I wen't out of town last weekend for a double funeral. Just sad for someone to lose both parents in one day nine hours apart. It was a fantastic love story. I am having problems with DS in school. I know everyone has been there it's just that it's been happening all at once with me. I am better now. I haven't caught up on the posts not sure if I will .

Darlene: I am happy to hear your son made it home safe and sound. I will continue to pray for our troops !! Stress can do that to you. Hope you feel better soon.

Andy: I would be thrilled. That is great news !!

Has anyone heard from Doreen? Glad the snow has stopped. Things have started to melt. Yeah !! Finally got the car washed the other day. Have a good day to everyone else I missed. Tina

Andy - Congratulations - wonderful news. Since you will still be here this summer are you still planning on meeting the ship of fools in CA??? Or better yet - call and get yourself a cabin on the ship???

My DH's company will also pay his benefits for life if he does the 25/55 thing too. Nice perk if you are close to either milestone. Alas since DH is only 41 and only has 18 years in - we wont be waiting for that. His company wont transfer him and he cant stand the thought of 14 more cold winters in NJ so I have my company working on a transfer for me and hope to be a florida resident sometime in 2005. My management is very supportive and have been wonderful about making calls and sending letters on my behalf that Im quite hopeful this will happen in the not too distant future.

Has anyone heard from Doreen, I havent spoken to her in a few weeks since she was down in VA with Karen?

No, we cancelled our California trip all togehter and decided to use some of our DVC points and we are spending six nights at Fort Wilderness during that week we had scheduled for California. This was we can drive to Florida and won't have to put the $$ out for plane tickets.

Here's the final tally of contributions for the tsunami victims made by my company:

"Employee and corporate donations totaled nearly $3.2 million.

The campaign consisted of an initial corporate standalone contribution of $100,000 and more than $1.5 million donated by employees around the globe. The company has matched employees’ contributions."


(I was hoping that the company would have to match $1 million. But, $1.5 million is even better! Yea! Way to go, team!)

I am soo jealous. Our company put out an ERO (early retirement offer) to the employees this last fall. I whistfully thought about it, but the bottom age limit was 50 and I've got several more years to go before I'd be eligible.

But I'm thrilled that you're going to be 'parolled early with time off for good behavior'. (Good behavior?... Are you sure about that?)

Gee, since you're already going to be in Florida... How about we change the location of the before-cruise DIS-meet from the Radisson to a slumber party at your place?!!! (I claim the couch! LOL)

Andy- talk about cutting it fine,we fly at 8.30am from Cardiff , so 91/2 hours later, take off 5 hours, I make it around about 1pm local time at Sanford Airport add another 2-3 hours for immagration and travel to the Pop Century, so I guess about 4-5pm on the 18TH August. Do you actually leave on the 19th?

We don't check out until Saturday morning August 20, we'll have to make a meeting place for Friday August 19th if you wish. I imagine you will be quite tired after traveling all day on the 18th.

Tina: I'm sorry to hear about all you've had to deal with lately I hope things with your DS at school straighten out.

Terry: What makes this soooo hard is that Chuck travels all week long. I sometimes feel like a single parent again. My DS has got himself on the wrong path. Everything just seems to be happening all at once for me. I am better now. DS has a long road ahead of him. I will be beside him all the way.

HELLO HELLO HELLO> I have written this about 4 times, and than it gets erased... this time I will send it before I get to winded.. We are all doing fairly well.
Karen's surgery was more extensive than we thought. I had to stay for 2 xtra days.,.. not that I minded but it was an ICE STORM in VIRGINIA while the whole EAST coast got the snow storms.

Back home here on the RANCH... I had to play catch up since it seemed the whole house routing stopped while 'MOM" was gone. 2 weeks later think i am getting in order here.

DARLENE>> gald your son in on AMERICAN soil again. did i hear a new grandchild is coming soon with that 2nd honeymoon?>

ANDY... can we keep the sleeping bags at your place while on the cruise.. we may need them for after the cruise like the last one...

JOANNA.. did you decide on a dog? i wanted a BISCHON or a SHIH TZU.. I got the SHIH TZU.. and I am happy with her. she is such a peanut.. she goes everwhere with me.

TERRY.. we are here. KAren is safe and we are gong back down there for mid-winter break to bring JACLYN there for the week. So my mom and I will take her there for a little R&R..
