Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways"

Hi everyone

It's been a busy few days! I was hoping things would slow down a little this week, but so far, it hasn't.

Doreen: I'm sorry you're still sick And those injections sound painful. Hang in there.

Darlene: I am so glad that you and Sandy are having a nice, relaxing vacation in Disney World!!! You sure do deserve it.

Andy: I'm sorry that you're sick and had to cancel your trip this week It seems like a lot of people are dealing with similar symtpoms. I just spoke to my sister who lives in NJ and she and her DH are sick now too. Feel better soon!


Fellow Dieters: I weighed myself this morning...and....I'm UP a pound!!! I even started walking on the treadmill this morning. I really need to get serious with this weight loss effort. I want to lose a total of 75 pounds, but I really want to lose 40 pounds by June, for our Royal Caribbean cruise. Oh well, I'm trying not to feel discouraged. I need to just re-evaluate what I ate this past week, and do better this week.
How is everyone else doing with their weight loss??

Hi guys... Im afraid to get on the scale... I was pretty good until the weekend and then blew it. Our dog died on Saturday so needless to say we are all terribly upset and dieting just didnt seem important. It was such a shock... he seemed sick, - lethargic, not eating, and belly swolen so Bob took him to the vet saturday AM and he tells him he has a tumor and if we didnt get surgery he would die and if we did he may still die. Well of course Bob tells him to do everything he can to help him but unfortunately as soon as they put Cecil under anesthesia his heart stopped. Bob is heartbroken... he picked cecil out as a puppy when he was 6 weeks old and we have had him for 9-1/2 years.

Im hoping my mood improves in the next few days so I can concentrate on dieting.

Ginny: I'm so sorry to hear about Cecil Please tell Bob that we pass on our sympathies to him. Our pets really become like family members, especially after so many years.

Diet update:

Well I just weighed myself again, and that extra pound from yesterday is gone, PLUS another pound, so I'll consider it to be a 1 pound weight loss for this week. I originally weighed myself last Tuesday morning so I'll stick with weighing myself every Tuesday, instead of Monday.

Oh Ginny and family I am so sorry... What an awful feeling.. I had to put one of my babies down last yr., she was 15 .. I know exactly how you feel. I did get another one in her place. never to RE-place.. but just to fill the void..(what a mistake,,,lol I am kidding) she is a shi-tzu.. ask Karen. I do hope it gets less lonley....

Terry congrats.. I forgot to get on the scale.. with so few trick or treaters I have a lot of candy left over... I love BUTTERFINGERS....

Today is my weigh-in day as well. The couple of pounds that I put on last week are now back off!!! This is going to be a tough week however, Hazel bought enough "Peanut Chews" to pass out for 50 Trick-or-Treaters, we had 20 children show up, not to mention the goodies that Angelina brought home Sunday night. Willpower, I need Willpower!!! LOL!!!

I forgot to mention, since I had to cancel our trip because of my inner ear infection, I called WDW yesterday and scheduled a surprise trip for Easter Week next Spring. I felt I owed this to Hazel and Angelina. They both know our flights have been changed for that week, but they don't know that we will be spending 5 nights at WDW.

Update....Smoothie maker...Ice, hmmm Sunday I gave out smoothies to my neighbors for Halloween, since it was so beautiful out, we all sat out and got tipsy. I had to walk into my neighbors house with my EMPTY ice bin and said, HELP I need more ice LOL and he restocked me.

Andy...Too bad you are going Easter week, we are going Passover week, that is our school break this year.

Have to go to work now.

Carol...Had to work the book fair till 9 last night, chairing these committee's are a killer.

Weighed myself yesterday morning (I do think my scale is sabotaged I gained 3 lbs!!!) It must have been my smoothie I had Friday nite and all the left over halloween candy.

I'm not even trying to diet yet with all the Halloween candy in the house. I don't want to set myself up to fail. I can't get into the mind set yet to diet and give up all the real chocolate and settle for low carb chocolates. Eventually I will.

Today, my son was able to vote for the first time (he turned 18 last March). It was exciting but they grow up so fast. I don't know where the years went since I feel like I'm only 21. Lol

WDW was so nice. We ate, slept, trick-or-treated, slept, swam, slept...just what the doctor ordered.
Stan (hooray) is home! Visiting nurse comes everyday. I am not a nurse, the drain makes me nervous. My admiration to all you nurses.

Doreen...I have to agree with the time change. I am in bed at 10 every night since the change and asleep not long after that.

Where are all our new friends, do they think we are crazy talking to each other 2 years before the fact.
