My thoughts will be with you and countless others whose lives were so devastatingly changed by 9-11. As the daughter of a Syracuse, NY firefighter, we grew up 2 blocks from my father's station. Whenever we heard the sirens and he was on duty, my thoughts always were wether we would see him again. He was injured a few times, but always came home. May God bless all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

I saw this quote on a plaque at one of the New Jersey transit train stations. It says "We remember those who rode the rails with us that morning and did not come home with us that night".

Sums it up perfectly.

We actually got hooked on DCL because DB and family went on their first cruise in October 2001. Even with all the airport craziness and fears about flying, they still had an amazing time.

So much so that we booked when DCL announced they were beginning the western intineraries.

Yes tomorrow is not a good day and my DH is flying tomorrow. I can't believe he booked a flight tomorrow.

And to get my mind off it, I booked the 3 day Wonder cruise in February. Contemplating doing back to back Wonder cruises, but the kids want WDW also. Anyone else doing a 3 day Wonder in February?

We're doing a 4-night Wonder cruise in February, plus a couple of nights at the Wilderness Lodge before the cruise, and 3 nights at the Animal Kingdom Lodge afterwards. I booked it all myself, separately. We have Annual Passes to Disney World so it's always nice to get another chance to use them.

Here's our itinerary:

Feb 2-4: Wilderness Lodge
Feb 4-8: Disney Wonder
Feb 8-11: Animal Kingdom Lodge

We have been watching 911 shows all weekend.. my thoughts and prayers with everyone who lost friends and family.. Tomorrow will be a difficult time for many. I just finished reading GOOD HOUSKEEPING about a widow who found love twice... Life is way to short to be rude and mean to people.. for you never know when it may be the last thing you say.. For those that travel and work in NYC... Thank you for keeping the city alive. I love going there... and as you all know.. a 5 hr trip is nothing to me and my family..in fact I mentioned it today as I was bringing my daughter to work that we should go there since there was no school tomorrow..I forgot about her job.. Silly me..
Bless all the men and women who protect us from the rude and evil people that try to destroy us.. but you know.. we are strong and thats why we have FREEDOM.. Good 'ole USA..

Good morning everyone

Well it's the 5th Anniversary of September 11th, 2001. It seems like yesterday, and personally I can't bring myself to watch any of the tv specials or even watch much of Good Morning America this morning since the entire show is a tribute.

Back in 2001, John and I watched the news continually for many, many days but we made sure we didn't watch much while the kids were in the room with us.

It's just too heartbreaking, still, for me to watch the specials or the news about Sept. 11th. I can't watch any of the movies or anything.

I hope we all have a safe day today, wherever we may be.

Doreen, Mary Rose, and Elaine: How fun was that 4-way phone call yesterday?? You know, we should do that regularly; each of us grab a cup of coffee, call each other on the phone, and have a "Virtual Cove Cafe" session! LOL Or, a "Virtual Meeting of the Lost At Sea - Cruising Castaway - Double Dipping - Reunion Cruisers" Something like that. LOL Just how many people can we get connected to a single phone call?
