Good friends of our always stay at Caribbean beach for the pools.

Haha....I, too, noticed we were relegated to page 2 yesterday. Can't remember the last time that happened.

Here's a funny story for you guys.......after we got back from the cruise we kind of didn't socialize much as we were going to see all our friends at a big party in September.

So we went to this party and the host hired this fabulous band. As soon as everyone had enough to drink the band opened the mike to anyone to come up and sing along.

So a few "brave" souls go up and sing......are you ready......Guns n Roses.

DH and I darn near died. We really hadn't told anyone about our cruise with Slash.

It was priceless.

Hmmm...It's now between AKL & Caribbean Beach. Seems the pools at CB are nice and the decor of AKL. I LOVE decisions like this.

I just got home and found a nice little surprise package from DCL in my mailbox, along with the postcard I sent to ourselves from Castaway Cay!

The "package" from DCL is called "My Cruise Travel Kit" and it's for rebooking onboard, for February. The letter starts out saying "Welcome back aboard!" It has all of the dates listed specifically for this cruise such as when online booking opens up for Palo and excursions, when the final payment is due, etc. It also came with a cardboard folder that contains smaller folders with info all about the Wonder in general and specific info for the 3- and 4-night sailings, the excursions offered for Nassau and Castaway Cay, etc. It was nice to come home to this today.

Both of the kids have friends over this afternoon/evening, so I might be ordering pizzas and salads for dinner. I'm fighting off a sore throat/cold thing that's going around the office. I have swollen glands and I'm feeling a little tired, so I think pizza is about as easy as it gets, ans the kids will all enjoy it.



Joanna: Have you seen my pictures of AKL and CBR on my web site?? We were just at AKL this past May, and we're staying there plus the Wilderness Lodge before and after our Wonder cruise. Regarding the pool areas at both of these resorts, AKL wins hands down. It's a much larger pool area, it has a zero-depth entry, and plenty of lounge chairs all around the perimeter of the pool, plus a better slide.

The DCL postcard I sent to work from CC arrived today as well, but the one I sent to Angelina, wishing her a HB from Mickey didn't arrive today, actually, I'm hoping it doesn't arrive until Friday, which is Angelina's actual birthdate.

I gave Angelina the choice of where she would like to have her birthday dinner and she selected Olive Garden, which surprised me, I thought for sure she was going to select Applebees. I told her she could invite a friend to come along, and of course she chose her best friend Trish.

Hi Everyone!

Joanna - I just wanted to write and tell you that the Contemporary is our absolute favorite resort!! We also love the Poly and the Beach Club but whenever we stay at those we travel to the CR to visit the arcade. Not only do my kids love it, but I must admit, I love it too! We also liked the Carribbean Beach. Our kids loved the food court. It's a good choice is $ is an object. If money is no object, (oh, and when is that?) I would have to vote for a deluxe. One other thing about the CR it's on the monorail which is awesome. But have you considered the BC/YC it's great for teens because of Stormalong Bay, which is a really great pool. We are staying at the BCV in April and love being able to walk to Epcot and boat to MGM!


Andy - So Angelina's turning Sweet 16 in real life now and not just in "Magic" land! I'll write again on Friday, but do wish her the best birthday ever (for "real" life) that is!

I got my visa bill in the mail today that had my shipboard charges on it

But I did charge the stateroom host, head server, server and asst server tips on it. So I need to take that into account.

Ski - That shipboard bill is SCARY indeed!!!! I spent much more than last time and last time I was on for 10 days! It's the pictures and the spa darn it! Let's just say, it there was a highest shipboard bill, if I didn't it win, I'd be darn close to the top!


Note to self - (15) 8X10's is just TOO much! Although I love them so!

It is a boring evening at home, alone, with my book. It is the same book I brought on the cruise, but it did not make it out of the room. Well, maybe once, but I don't remember opening it.

Russ is still working and Russell is at school. I really do enjoy nights like this. it is cold, and I have my heavy robe and slippers on. Soon to go up and watch some TV. Dancing with the Stars tonight.

Had some tests done today. I get the results nex Tues. and then next Wed I have Grand Jury Duty. 1 year, every Thurs. My company pays me, so I do not lose any time.

Elaine: It's so funny that you mentioned the book you brought on the cruise. LOL I also brought a book on the cruise with me and I never even looked at a page of it while on the ship! LOL I *just* finished it last night though. With John away on a business trip, I had the time to relax by myself and finish it.

Mary Rose: I really was glad that they finally started a package for the 8 X 10 pictures at Shutters. On our 2004 cruise there was no package for the 8 X 10's, only the 6 X 8's, but we ended up with only a few of those, and several 8 X 10s

OMG, that song in my opinion is the worst. After hearing it everyday 6th period during lunch last year when I would visit Tresslar's class and the kids in that class would play that because they knew i hated it.

Ok so anyway.. School is in full session.. We are actually looking into COLLEGES.. wow.. I cant believe my DD is old enough to go to college.. Seems it was just yesterday that I was standing at the nursery windows cooing at her...

I think they gave the kids growing pills... DS shot up 3 inches I bet already since we are back..

Still didnt buy a laptop/notebook. I am a very hard sell.. I have been looking at Dells, HP, and Gateways.. Sams Club/staples/ Dell .com and so many other places.. its getting narrowed down now..


JOANNA.. I liked the CBR.. The main pool was great with the slides and the food court from what I remember was great too.. I also, like the POP CENTRY and stayed in prefered.. near the pool... It did take a bit to walk to the rooms but once you were there... you were there.. Basically, its the same thing from any resort...

Hi Everyone!

Well guess what? I just came back from the doctor and I have tennis elbow!!! And you know what else? I got it from carrying my 100lb suitcases! I will never, ever overpack again! Next cruise I am bringing my toothbrush, a pair of shorts and a bathing suit! That's it! I'll wash those things out in the sink in my cabin! Doreen - did you catch that I didn't mention undies? That's right, on our next cruise I will go COMMANDO Anyway, now I have an elbow brace, a wrist brace and a heavy duty NSAID. And tomorrow John(DH) is having a plantar's wart removed from the sole of his foot! Being back to real life stinks!

BTW - does anyone else still have DIARRHEA?????? DS John is fighting it again for the third time since we've been home. He goes for his annual physical on Friday and I'll check with the Pediatrician then.

MR......whoa, that's some serious tennis elbow to have all those braces. Just watch out for upset stomach with the NSAIDs.

Okay.....I must have missed the whole story with the band XOP on the ship. Anyone care to give me the synopsis? Were they just a terrible band?

And speaking of music.....I thought the songs at the sailaway party (the ones that the CMs and the characters dance to) were really dull.

When we first cruised in 2002/2003 the songs at the sailaway party were pretty current with what was playing on the radio at the time (Ricki Martin, etc).

I don't know where DCL got those songs from as they really didn't put me in a party mood. Even my kids got bored pretty quickly.
