Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways" Part 2

Hey Gang!

I hope that those folks who have started their vacations have safe trips. (And know how totally jealous I am that I'm not on vacation yet myself. I just keep telling myself, "Five more days, Dori, five more days"!)

I need to change my departure time. Due to the airport security issues, I have made reservations at one of the hotels near the airport. (It was either that or catch an earlier Airporter Van and 5 AM was already 'ugly' enough as far as the kid and I are concerned.) So, we will be leaving the house around 6 PM on Thursday 8/17. Fortunately, that is one of my Mom's days off. She is going to drive us over to the hotel and then we'll catch their shuttle to the airport in the morning.

I don't know about the August 2008 cruise. There are a few other trips I would like to make with Devin before he's grown and out of the house and I only have 4 more years to do it. Although, I have heard Alaska being thrown around. If that's the case then I may reconsider. (I've been eyeballing the Inland Passage cruise for a couple of years now.) If DCL does a cruise to Alaska, does anyone know where the point of origin will be (Seattle or somewhere in California)? If Seattle, then I'm willing to play tour guide for anyone interested.

I also wanted to tell all of my "Lost @ Sea" friends that I feel badly about having to back out on doing t-shirts. So, I am bringing a small surpise to you guys. (I hope that my other new friends will not be offended by this. That is not my intent.)

Well I better go, I am working this weekend and also trying to get a bunch of other stuff done before we leave on Thursday.

Where is the 3:00 Dis meet going to be at?

The Promenade Lounge which is on Deck 3 Aft right next to the Internet Cafe. If you walk out of Parrot Cay and go straight you will see it on your right as you pass the Internet Cafe.

Greetings from the road.
First night is in Cambersburg PA

Had to stop by my brothers-in law picnic before we left. so this put us little behind our schedule. Then Traffic on Tapenzee bridge and 287 south was slow and delayed. Finally arrive at Hotel at 6pm to find out the connecting rooms we wanted were not listed on our reservations. After some discussions with front desk staff we got two king rooms that are next to each other but not connected. For the same price.

So Mom and Caitlin are in one room and I am next door.


Tommorrow we drive less than 3 hrs and arrive in Lorfon VA around noon.

I hope Andrew UK finnaly got off ground and in the air.

All in all a smooth ride once I got into NJ.

What Cruise staff members does everyone want to see on our cruise or hope will be on our cruise? I heard Dougie was back.

A CM that has become part of our family over the years is Gloria Morobe. She works in retail, most recently Treasure Ketch and I heard she went on vacation a few months back and apparently she hasn't come back.

I could speak for hours on what Gloria has meant to our family and we miss her so. Thank God we have memories of her. Below are just a few.

Greetings from the NJ Shore. What a LONNNNNG ride, but we finally got here around 9pm and met my niece for dinner at one of my favorite restaurants.

I'll reply to a few things tomorrow night when we get back home... In the meantime, Safe travels to all of our friends who are already on the road, and/or in the air!

DORI.. no need to feel bad.. just look at all the peolple that thought they could go.. and now look at all the great FREINDS that are going.. We are so lucky...

My 2 children ds13 and dd17 are goign to the PROMANADE meet, and are both looking forward to THE STACK.. last time Jaclyn was gone the majoirty of the time and asking me for money to get new pjs for sleep over night, movie time, I have many pic of her and the girls getting sun.. If they meet at OUR first MEET at the PROMANADE lounge.. and then they see them again at THE STACK.. maybe they would feel more comfrotable knowing, "well they are mom and dads friends"

Or be like my kids and run like heck, becasue they are mom and dads friend,,lol .lol...

I think its VERY IMPERATIVE they go to the first mtg on SATURDAY to get to know kids their age..They also get their own personal navigator geared to the STACK only..

She cant wait for it.. and meanwhile my son is on the shy side...he is excited about the new DISNEY QUEST on deck 2 I think?? Last cruise he was with me the whole time...

I am all alone.. with nothing to do.. UMMM... no one to talk to...Boy will that change in a weeks time..

I have to learn to sleep.. UGGGG!!! I am dog sitting this weekend as well.. and will need to be there about 630 am fully dressed and ready for the day... I am getting a bit of papmering today with ELAINE and JACLYN with a PEDICURE.. so be sure to notice this week.. When we meet,,lol Never had one..

Ok so BEV.. I still think you should fly. I took care of my 89 yr old grandmother and we drove back and forth to INDIANA sometimes x2 a yr.. It was so difficult for her..16 hrs with her... 11.5 hrs with DH driving.. With flying you get on the plane and 4 hrs later your there.. You have to remember her need to go to the BR, walk around more often( more stops), and she will be catered to on the plane.. Where is your REST?? you will be so tired by the time you get there..
Give yourself this luxery and fly..Grant it I would give most anything to have my BABCI sitting here with me now,, ( mostly since it would be time for her to piddle),,lol But I say stay flying. its about all the SAFEST time to FLY.. they are checking everything so well...

Ok so can you tell I am trying to get to 1000 before our CRUISE??

ANDY.. I will mail out the box later today.. Can you imagine that all 4 WALMARTS in my area , 2 AC MOORE, and 2 MICHEALS, do not have the DCL(slime green) ribbon anymore.. I had 1.2 boxed still to do and I rean out.. .. UGGG..Their are 3-4 different ribbons onthe bottles,heheh they are all labled and ready to go to ANDYS MOM.. (thank you)

I was talking with my mom yesterday morning on the phone and told her to keep an eye out for a couple of boxes. I sent my box out yesterday morning. If you send your box out Monday morning by Priority Mail it should arrive to her by Thursday. We will be leaving her place and will be heading to the port area sometime Friday morning.
