Safe Travels Kristi!!! :wave2:

Sue and Vicki - it's hard to believe that it was almost one year ago when we meet at Trail's End. Sorry that you can't come with us, but wishing you both the best. Maybe we'll cruise together in 8/08. Take care.

I'm writing a list and checking it twice. I hope to be packed by tonight.

Take care everyone.

Bev :sunny:

:sad2:  Im sorry to say that I wont be able to come to the Radisson friday night and see all the Hurricane Francis and SOF cruisers after all. DH just informed me that he is on call next weekend (he swears he didnt realize it until yesterday  ) and he cant be 2 hours from home incase he needs to go in for an emergency order from a hospital.

I thought of coming alone with the kids but the logistics involved to coordinate with our Saturday plans is just too complicated (it would involve me driving home 2 hours Sat AM and then back to Orlando by 10AM for a team outing for work.)

I wish you all a MAGICAL cruise. :boat:

Mary Rose and Doreen - Have a smoothie for me!!!! :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

Well I planned to be almost all packed by now and haven't done a thing yet today. Instead I have been washing the dog with Tomato juice, vinegar, and deodorizing shampoo. Can anybody guess why?

Yup - you guessed it, she got sprayed last night. We new she got sprayed a little, my DH & kids were outside having a fire when the skunk sprayed but we didn't think she really got a direct hit so my DH just washed her and put her in her crate. The air smelled so bad that you couldn't tell that she smelled just as bad. By morning the house smelled so bad.

She likes to drink the water from the hose and there is even a hole in the hose that she will run around and get her face into it. Well, long story short she got very sick - the vet is pretty sure she just drank too much water. She has been getting sick and is really lethargic. Of course she still smells(so does the house) and we can't wash her again today. She also rolled in the dirt when she was wet and now she is muddy and smelly.

It was a morning where everything we touched went wrong. Now I have a headache and feel like crap! So much for best laid plans.

Linda

Oh Ginny! That makes me so sad! We'll miss seeing you guys :(
So how about the 2008 reunion cruise :thumbsup2 !!!!! Till we meet again friend.......Doreen & I will certainly toast a smoothie to you!!

Just heading out to pick up some last minute things I haven't managed to find yet. Who would have guessed navy slacks for a 3 yr old would be so hard to find! He's not quite big enough for a school uniform size or it would be no problem. I took the 3 boys shoe shopping yesterday - what fun that was!! :sad2: Not quite the same as taking my daughter shoe shopping LOL. She is always excited to try on pair after pair after pair... princess: I picked up a cute outfit for my mom to were on pirate night so she won't feel left out of our family theme. She was so excited when she saw it! It makes it seem like we're almost stepping onto the ship!

Tonight is my last night of work before vacation! :dogdance:

I've seriously got to get packed come Monday. All I want to think about on Tuesday is flying to Orlando. We are sooo excited! We'll be at Embassy Jamaican Court and doing Universal for a couple days. If anyone else is going, drop us a line. I'm taking our laptop so I should be able to check in from the hotel.

Safe travels to all my disfriends!

Oh Linda, how awful, I can't even imagine having that smell in the house. I see skunks "on the road" all the time around here, and the smell turns my stomach when passing them. I really feel for you!!!

I just stopped by to wish everyone a wonderful vacation and safe travels. Our vacation starts on Wednesday this week and we will be heading to Disney on Thursday morning, we have a flight out of AC at 7 AM. I hope to see a lot of my friends at Senor Frogs in Cozumel. We should be there by 1 PM at the latest. :Pinkbounc :cool1:

Again, everyone have a GREAT time.

Linda - There is another concoction that works better than the tomato juice / vinegar ect. for skunk sprays. It is dish detergent, hydrogen peroxide and something else. I'll check and see if I can find it.

How do I know? Because I made DH wash the dog at 2 am on the patio in his underwear. Hey, he was the one who let her in the house smelling like that!!

Be right back.

Wow - talk about bad timing! So sorry for your woes! A little pixie dust and good thoughts for you and your poor dog pixiedust:
I've heard how very difficult it is when a dog gets sprayed. My friend was dogsitting for her parents and it just consumed her entire week getting the dog and the house back to normal. Wishing you a quick de-smelling process tomorrow when your dog is feeling better. :dog2:

Linda, here's the remedy:

What you need
Next go to a drug store and get the following, if needed:

1 quart (or liter) of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide, H2O2.
Use fresh (unopened) hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Hydrogen peroxide eventually turns into water (H2O).
1/4 cup (50 ml.) of Baking Soda
1 teaspoon (5 ml.) of Liquid Soap
1 pair of plastic or latex gloves

To Use
Bathe the dog outside or, if it's too dark or cold, in the bathroom with the door closed and window opened.
Combine the ingredients in an open container (do not store in a sealed bottle--it will explode).
Using gloves, wash your dog with lukewarm water and the mixture while the mixture is bubbling. Work the mixture well into the fur.
Be sure to concentrate on the area that was sprayed.
Keep mixture away from your dog's face and eyes (it's a harsh solution). (If your dog has been sprayed in the face, try Tricotine Liquid Douche Concentrate or any over-the-counter douche.)
Let the mixture stand for 10 minutes or so before rinsing off.
Rinse the dog with lukewarm tap water. Don't wash the mixture into your dog's eyes (use a washcloth to cover the eyes if you're rinsing the head).
After bathing, check your dog's eyes. If they are red and watering, your dog may have taken a direct hit in the face. Skunk spray won't blind the dog, but it's very painful. Contact a vet.

Good luck!

Denise

Thanks Denise - I think we will have to deal with the smell overnight because she is just too sick to even try to wash her again today. I will pick up the ingredients on the way home tomorrow.

Linda

My SIL actually told me this morning to buy a douche but I thought we would try the other mixture first. The thought was really just a little more than I could handle at 7:00am this morning.

Linda

Oh Linda - So sorry for your pup and for you guys! Hope you all feel better and that the remedy works!!

Lyn - We will be there at Senor Frogs friend!!! I think out excursion ends around 1:30 so see you after that! Enjoy your vacation!!!
