Mary Rose: I am sure you had a good time at the concert ! :thumbsup2 Don't forget BB on tonight. :teeth:

Terry: Enjoy your 2nd day of retreat through your church. Is this the week your doing things on your own at week ? If it is....... :wizard: :wizard: You will be fine. :)

Doreen: My goodness one little tornado and I will never hear the end of it? :confused3 Really I am glad you made it home safe and sound !! :grouphug: Did you hear about our tornado in our neck of the woods about 2 weeks ago ? These storms are getting crazy around here.

Linda : Did you get hit will the bad weather yesterday?

Andy: All I can say is I am glad your the one going through this and NOT me because I just won't be ready till Brooke is 35. :rotfl2: I am already trying to pull some of the grey out of my hair.

Three weeks from right now, we'll be waking up for the first time on the ship! And getting ready for CC. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!

Kristi - I think your little one will be fine without fins for snorkeling as long as there isn't a path to follow or a speed to maintain. If close to shore or boat you should be ok. The fins make distance and speed a lot easier.

Just dropping in to say Good Morning, and I do agree with Andrew, the days seem to be dragging as of late.
Dont they just, hope its this slow on the Cruise ship that goes so fast.

Good morning everyone. I'm so glad it's sunny out. :sunny:
I'm getting so tired of all these thunderstorms we've been having lately.

I know that I still have time :hourglass to get ready and pack and before I know it, I'll be in a panic right before we leave packing and wondering what I forgot to pack; what I still need to buy etc etc.

Andy - I was at the Disney store last night. Nice shirt that you bought. pirate:

Doreen - how long does it take for the LS to arrive?

Less than 3 weeks now. :woohoo:

It is so muggy outside this AM, thanks for the AC. I'm not sure if it has been off since May. Busy night at the Skyline Grill, but I was able to slip out early. I guess that is one of the perks of knowing the boss. I cannot believe that in 3 weeks I will wake up on a ship and not in my bed. I am soooo looking forward to this vacation, and to meeting all you great people. I already feel as if i know you.

Andy-I'm glad Angelina got home safely last night. Having a son, (21) I am on the flip side of the dating game. But we have had some girls call and stop over and I find myself extremely judgemental, after all, he is my one and only.

I was holding a 7 wk old baby last evening, and he and my husband bothe said "don't get any ideas". I am now waiting for grandchildren, as my clock has stopped ticking. But my son has to finish sr yr at LeMoyne College and then hopefully law school.

OK, I rambled enough, I thought my sisters would be on. Speak of the devil. Karen is on the phone.

Hope everyone has a great day and enjoys the countdown.

Elaine

Good Morining all

Happy Sunday, another sunday and off to the mall again.

Diane,

I don't know if I mentioned this to you already...my DH just finished his certification!!! He had agreed to stay home with our boys for a few years when I was starting out in a very time-demanding career. He enjoyed it so much he thought he'd like to go into teaching, so he permanent-subbed for a few years to see how he'd like it. Now he's certified for elementary!!! (dang it, if the sub jobs were with older kids, he could've fallen in love w/ High School, then it wouldn't have taken so long to get his certification (he has a business degree)!!! Doh!).

Anyway, it's been very trying around here, as our school system (we live in a very large "city"; probably as big as Nassau County for all you NY'ers) doesn't even post any openings til August. Very stressful waiting, b/c I'd rather he taught in our kids' school system and not have to go into the neighboring cities. Of course, the school that wants him is the furthest from our home (closest school is 2 miles; this other school is at least a 30 minute drive - arrgghh!).

So, thanks for letting me rant. Good luck w/ finishing your certification!!! I hope you find something you truly enjoy!!! :cheer2:

Hi Bev--yea, I think the shirt is rather cool looking myself!!!

Hi Elaine--dear old dad had to make a rescue run last evening and bring DD home early, that's why I said breathe s-l-o-w-l-y in my post last night. Not sure all that transpired, but DD was in tears :guilty: when I got there to pick her up, and she didn't feel like talking, so I let it go, for now.

As we pulled in our driveway last night, Angelina and I saw a cat sitting on our step. The cat had a collar on and luckily a tag with her name, address and phone number. We called the owners but didn't get an answer so Angelina and I took a ride around the corner. Just as we got to the owner's house Hazel called to let us know the owner had just called our house and was coming out his front door. We are happy to report that Holly, and her owner's, are together again!!! :goodvibes

Andy- sorry to hear about Angelina's night. Have been there with my son also. I think you were great just letting her know that if she needed to talk, you were there for her. Awesome DAD!! Isn't it amazing how we are able to help our children, we must have all done well in Parenting 101. I know that the last year has truly been a test for Reenie and her daughter, but God does not give us more than we can handle. She had some unbeliveably rough sailing, but I think the waters have calmed, and everything will be OK.

I'm glad the kitty is back home safely, as I'm sure you are.

I hope your DD is feeling better today, and look forward to meeting you all.

Take Care, elaine

Good morning everyone :sunny:

I'm home today instead of at the convention because I had a bad night; migraine headache and leg cramps. :( I'm feeling better this morning, although my leg is still bothering me, and I still have a slight headache.

Andy: Sorry to hear about the DD rescue last night. I think my mother was right when she used to say "When kids are small they have small problems; when they get bigger, they have bigger problems". I hope whatever it is that had Angelina in tears last night will soon be forgotten by her and I hope she's feeling good (happy) soon :) That was nice of both of you to return the cat to its owner, too :cat: :)

Well I started a packing list yesterday during lunch time, at the convention, so I feel a little more prepared for this trip. LOL Next weekend we'll get all of the suitcases out of the attic and I will start to pack. I am going to be packing MUCH, MUCH less than I did on our last cruise. I ended up not even wearing half of the clothes I packed! LOL I found myself sending our clothes out to the laundry service a couple of times and then wearing my favorite outfits over again. Of course the only clothes I can't leave out are all of our formal and semi-formal night clothes. Other than that, we'll be doing laundry twice on the ship, and that'll get us through the entire 10 day vaction. I plan on buying one of those "Twice the Magic" t-shirts on Friday at Castaway Cay, so then I'll wear it the next day when we debark the ship and head over to Disney World. :)

Kristi: Many people don't wear the fins when they go snorkeling, I think your DD will be just fine without them :fish:

Doreen: That storm sounds so scary to have been out in yesterday!!! :scared:

Tina: Yes, the next 2 weeks at work I'll be alone in the department! Talk about scared!! LOL Actually, I feel confident that I'll remember all... ok, MOST, of what Maggie taught me, and whatever I don't remember, I'll ask someone else. And I have this line all ready to go "I don't know, I've only been here 3 weeks!" :teeth:

To all of the teachers and future teachers on our thread: I commend you! I give so much credit to people who take on the responsibility of being a teacher. My sons have had the good fortune to have (mostly) excellent, caring teachers, especially the teachers here in our town. The couple of teachers who I weren't thrilled with were teachers at the vo-tech that Craig went to; and both of them, I later found out, were either retiring at the end of the year, or moving away. Anyway, I think teaching is one of the most noble careers, and I truly applaud the efforts of every good teacher out there!!! :goodvibes

Have a great day, everyone :)

Andy.........I hope Angelina is feeling better this morning. pixiedust: and :grouphug: for all of you.

Diane.......I went back and got my teaching degree in elementary ed after having another job for 10 years. Before I got a job, I had the children. I now work around their scehdule as a preschool teacher for three afternoons a week. And I teach for the community college helping people get their GED through an alternative program for people that have been out of school for awhile or are test phobic to name a few situations. The trade off for this program is that they have 65 multi-leveled skills that thye gave to pass at 100%. This is my favorite job since it is run like a tutorial. I just show up. Nothing to prepare. A teacher's dream job. And I just picked up teaching a math class for the fall and spring semesters. I love math, so I had a blast in the spring when I taught this class for the first time. So may days can go from "this is the color orange to global interdpendence to algebra." :dance3:

I guess what I wanted to tell you is that there are other places to look too. Although I still think about getting a full time teaching job. I'd like to teach math in the middle school. Something I though I'd never say. :lmao: Good luck with your new career. I'm so excited for you. :woohoo:

Shirley

Afternoon from here!

It was the Jewel of the sea that left yesterday (got the name wrong) but it has 2,500 spaces and 1,000 staff... how does that compare to the ones in America? Bev, this is probably one for you!!
