Yikes! :scared1: While pulling a load of whites out of the washer and moving them to the dryer, I just realized that I haven't put any underwear for either of us in the 'to pack' pile. That would be a very bad thing to forget! :lmao: I better go do it before I forget. :rolleyes1

Dori :rotfl:

And you know what else, I could lose all the weight and be 100 lbs and a size 0 and I still wouldn't be comfortable with or like my body :lmao: I guess that puts me in good company as I'm sure most woman on the planet feel the same way! ;)

Hi! Andy told me about this board from the passporter site - I'm glad that I found it in time! Thanks so much, Andy. :worship:
This is our first family cruise. My DH and I were on the Big Red Boat for our honeymoon but that was a long time ago! LOL. My DD is 6 and DS is 11. The biggest kid in our family is my DH - and we're all soo excited about this trip!! We've been to Disney several times but this is the ultimate.
We're staying at the Radisson and have late seating on the ship. We're in room 2120 on board. We're also going to WDW on Thursday and are staying at Shades of Green.
I was so surprised when I read thru "some" of the thread - it's so big I couldn't read thru it all. Is it true that this cruise is full? I booked this as a gift for my family in January 2005 and thought that I was booking early - looking at some of the early posts, I guess I wasn't. Wow.
Since many of you are veterans, I'd appreciate any suggestions that you have. I still have 1.5 days before I fly down to Florida...
Thanks!
Jude :yay:

Bev are you really driving??? wowowo...

TERRY how was your trip home. No fender benders I hope.... ROBBY.. welcome home..

Is anyone kids ready for school yet??

We had to get DANIEL new luggage today.. His old black one finally gave way... the handle would not go up anymore. I know talk about spoiled.. His wonderful AUNTS helped pitch in and we were able to get him 3 pieces of the ATLANTIC quard wheeled luggage.. its its HUGE too.,..... MR if you need to use it.. send it my way... :rotfl:

Ok only 10 more posts to 1000... can i get there tonight,. DOUBT it.. I am so tired...

I am busily working on the packing now too. (That and doing research for the technical design that I have to have completed and reviewed by Thursday, before I leave.) You almost can't see the bed in the spare room for all the piles of clothes, shoes and toiletries piled on it.

I've been eye-balling the massages on board too, but just haven't been able to bring myself to do it. My problem is this... One of my best friends is a Licensed Massage Therapist. (And in my experience, she's the best I've come across.) I can get a 60 minute full body massage with hot rocks and aroma-therapy from her for $50. I can't seem justify the cost of them on the cruise to myself. (I already have plans to go see my friend for the 'works' when I get home.)

Dori :cool1:

HaHa....I have the same issue. Can't justify the price of getting a massage on DCL when I have a great person at home. I'm getting a massage on Tuesday.

Only time I got a massage on DCL was when I hurt my neck two days before the cruise. I was packing my snorkeling mask and decided to try it on for size. Gave myself whiplash when I tilted my head back. Ouch.

First thing I did when I boarded was head straight to the spa to book a massage. I will admit the lady on DCL who did the massage knew exactly what to do and I felt much better.

Dori - I have a funny underwear story! I was listening to the radio and they were talking about the difference in the way men and women pack for a weeks vacation. When they talked about underwear, the woman said she would pack 8 to 10 pairs, just in case. My guy said he'd pack 1 pair. He'd wear the pair he had on for 3 days then turn them inside out and wear them for another 3 days. Then he'd wear the 1 pair he packed home. Ewwww! That's digusting, yet at the same time very funny!

Buddy Bear and others interested in Majahual,

I spent several hours yesterday trying to find info on Majahual and stumbled across this map.

http://www.chacchobenruins.com/uploads/Majamap.GIF

From what I've read Tequila Beach Club is nice but more geared towards the "younger" crowd. So people say head for Tequila Beach and keep walking. That means go south of Tequila Beach. I read good things about Pez Quadro restaurant. Quieter area. I believe you "rent" a beach chair for some nominal amount and order lunch from the restaurant.

I tried looking for some private hotels/resorts in the general area and came up empty. Either they were too far away or the beach wasn't nice. I'm sure there are others but you need to know the name of the resort.

I think the really nice places are closer to Tulum.

So that's what we're going to go - go beyond Tequila Beach and find a nice place. I did read the Cats Meow is a fantastic restaurant but the beach was okay.

I know my kids are going to want to swim at the big pool near the dock.
Thanks for the map; that is helpful. We have heard good things about the Cat's Meow, but will probably keep walking until we find something nice and family like.

One question we are still dealing with is what do you do with a 2 year old in a taxi? We are dragging the car seat with us; that will stay in the van at the DCL terminal. Missy was considering a booster seat. :confused3

Welcome JUDE...and family.. :welcome: Where in UPSTATE NY are you . I am in SYRACUSE.. Hey you only have about 11000 post to read in 1.5 days.. good luck..

What deck are you on?

MARY ROSE Jaclyn said she is putting her foot down on that one.. :confused3 JOHN.. I will take video of you.. and send it along to the family....
SHIRLEY.. we will keep you safe. but we have one heck of a crew on board..

This time next week, I will be passed out in my bed because of all the fun I had on my first trip ever to Castaway Cay! :goodvibes

Have a good night, all!

Welcome Jude and Family!!!! :welcome: Jump Right in and join us. It's a great big fun group!! My sister (SnowWhite71) who isn't on tonight has a DD5 and is also on deck 2!!!

Mary Rose

Welcome Jude :welcome: . We also have a dd6 who will be 7 in October(but thinks she will be 20). Where are you in NY, there are a couple of us from the Syracuse area. Welcome abord - I would just try going back a few pages or you will be doing nothing but reading until its time to get on the boat.

I had to run to Walmart for underware tonight - my son must have all of his underware hidden in his room somewhere but I didn't have time to look. After packing my husbands I decided to get him some too.

Well my suitcases are full and the only thing I have backed - I mean packed of my husbands is his underware. Time to borrow a suitcase from my sister.

Linda

On one DCL cruise we did I forgot to pack DD's underwear. Even better....it was on my packing list and I crossed it off indicating that I had indeed packed it.

Yes, you can buy children's underwear in Mickey Mates.

I was almost ready to pull the "guy" thing of having DD wear the same underwear for a few days then turn it inside out.

Dori - I feel the same way but I have heard that you can get really cheap massages in Costa Maya and almost as cheap in Cozumel and it is right on the beach also. Has anyone ever done this?

Linda

Doreen - I could really use Daniel's luggage but DCL has a 2 bag per person limit. Right now, without my 100 lb backpack of booze, I'm at the limit. Oh, well, we're six people in our party and we'll have to split the booze in our carryons. Oh, but wait, four of them are minors. Okay, John and I, 50 lbs of booze in each carryon :rotfl:

Jeff; almost caught Ken the other day but he went inside before I crossed 35

My Dad is kind of in the dog house. He and my mom like to ride bicycles down the shore so a couple weeks ago they were over in Lavallette. While passing by a baseball game in the park my father inadvertently crossed in front of my Mom while going afer a foul ball

Long story - short. He knocked her off her bike, she fell to the ground, and broke her hip. She had surgery, went to rehab, and is now home feeling better, but my Dad will be paying for this for a long time. :goodvibes

If you do see him you can bust his chops about the the foul ball too.

50 more posts until 11000 and 7 more posts for me to get 1000.. whaoo!!!

MARY ROSE think about the kids.... :rotfl2:

JEFF... that is awful. how is your mom doing now? Wil she be able to ride a bike again??

DOREEN
