Calling All 8/19/06 Special Western Cruisers! AKA "The Cruisin' Castaways" Part 2

Oh no, Andy!! How is your knee feeling now? That sounds so painful.

It's been snowing/sleeting/hailing here since 7am, and it's supposed to get very windy and turn to all snow by this evening.

But on a happier note:

36 weeks till we're cruising!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah 36 weeks!!!

What a storm! We got 2 to 3 inches per hour near the end there & it was even thundering & lightening. A Comair Jet got hit coming into Logan, but nobody was hurt. I was leaving the mall when I saw a flash of blue I thought one of the steet lights in the parking lot blew out, until I heard the crash of thunder. Very scary!

Good Morning All,

My knee is OK, it is just aching from all the cold air, it was a sudden jolt I took however.

Last evening Hazel and I went to take care of the ticket table for our church's annual Christmas Production. We arrived at the church at 6pm and found the street leading up to the church very dark. Once we got in the church we found out that a transformer had exploded and the electric company wasn't sure when the power was going to be restored. The show was scheduled to start at 7:30 and we had people arriving around 6:15 that wanted to buy tickets. Around 6:30 a call was received and we were told the electric should be back on around 8:00. The show's director decided that we would wait until 8:00 and if the power wasn't back on then we would have to cancel the show. It was announced that if anyone couldn't make it to one of the two shows on Saturday or Sunday, they could have their money refunded. We had a few people come to the table and ask for a refund, but most of the people said they would wait until 8:00 and see what happens. Well, 8:00 rolls around and still no power, we can see the electric company trucks outside, and the men are still working on the lines. At 8:05 the announcement was made that the show was cancelled and about 20 or 30 people start heading for the ticket table for refunds. Just as we were started handing out refunds, the lights and full power comes back on. I could hear a loud cheer coming from the choir room. The show is going on!!! The people who we gave refunds to, are now back at the table buying their tickets back again. The show finally got under way at 8:20, after we finished at the ticket table, Hazel and I sat in the back to see the show, which of course was quite nice as always. Hazel and I finally arrived back home near 10:30 last night, and I went straight to bed. We have to be back to the church by 1:30 this afternoon, and probably will be there until about 9:00 tonight. The church provides dinner for all those that are working in and for the show.

Yes Tina, your siggie is within the legal limits, except for that red bow on Dante.

BTW, Terry is doing a weekly countdown, I think she might be overwhelmed trying to do a daily countdown, LOL!!!

I just talked to my sister-in-law and she said it is OK to take my nephew Peter with us to Florida for the week between Christmas and New Year's. Peter is going to get to spend this week with his dad, they haven't been able to see each other since August, so this is going to be great for the both of them!!!


Just talked with my brother Pete in Florida, he was so happy to hear that Peter is coming down with us next week. I told Pete to call Peter and give him the news, I know he is going to be so excited about seeing his dad, I'm getting goosebumps just thinking about it!!!
