Calling AKL super-experts: what room request for best MORNING view of the animals?

Finally got our AKL room booked! Savannah view with bunkbeds! Here is my problem, though. I am traveling with a decidedly non-morning-person (make that a decidedly non-morning-teenager!). During Christmas week, when getting to the parks early is a real must-do. I think the prospect of waking up to a view of a giraffe (or zebra or wildebeast--just about any large mammal-type animal would probably do) would help her drag herself out of bed in the morning.

Can someone help me identify the kind of room (i.e., what savannah, what floor, maybe even what room numbers) I should request? I would be really grateful!

I stayed in 4572 and it was perfect. Zebra wing. A long walk to the lobby but worth it.

We were in 4213, Kudo trail Arusha savannah. It overlooked what we called Pelican Pond. My favourite thing to do was to get up early in the morning before it got light and stand on the balcony. At first I would just see these indescript shapes in the dark but as it got lighter, the shapes would turn into zebras or eland walking along slowly with their clicky knees. I loved it. And while I waited for the big animals, I had a great time watching the pelicans and other birds doing their thing. They were a lot of fun to watch.

Request Arusha Savannah, Zebra Trail. The restaurants and pool are on this side of the Lodge.

We were in 3531 Zebra Trail and the view of the animals was fantastic. In the morning we saw just about everything, including the baby Giraffe. They were a stones throw away from our balcony just beyond the electrified perimeter fence that protects the animals from getting too close to the lodge. My DD1 loved it and we'll be going back in December 2007 & 2008. We've been lucky enough to get free upgrades from standard view to Savannah view so lets hope our luck doesn't run out too soon.
