I called Disney a little bit ago and asked a CM if she could check to see if we would happen to have a pin code and she was happy to check. She came back on the phone and said that she saw that we were booked with a TA (this is our second year using one) and she said that she did see that we had one or more dicounts/possible pin code of some type, but because we booked with a TA, she wasn't able to look at them or do anything with them :confused3 I'm not doubting her or saying that she is wrong, I Just wasn't aware that she could not even check for one. I understand that my TA would have to apply it, but I didn't know that she couldn't check for it. I think I'm confused

Your TA owns the reservation so they can't discuss it with you at all. You'll need to tell your TA to call and check:)

Thank you! Like I said, I wasn't doubting it, I guess I just hadn't given it any thought and it caught me off guard. I've already left a message with my TA. Thanks for clearing that up for me :goodvibes

Your TA will be able to call and get any PIN code applied. If there is more than one the CM can price each to see what will give you the best deal.

Sometimes the PIN codes come directly to you through email or snail mail, maybe they are on their way. If you get one just call your TA with the PIN code number to apply it.

It is my understanding that the CM can check for a PIN code for you, just can't apply it to your reservation (TA must handle that). I am not aware of the CM not being able to tell you about one though. Doesn't sound right.

This is what I am confused about as well. I just simply asked if we might possibly have a pin code attached to our family name and she was very nice about checking and then told me that she did see something, but couldn't discuss it with me because we booked with a TA. I wasn't asking her to apply it if there was something as I know that they can't do that and I would have to have my TA do it for us. I handle my own dining and always call them to do it on my own with no problems, as do I book all other extra things such as BBB, Pirates and Pals, etc. so I don't see what the difference is lol.

ETA: I just talked to my TA and she said that there is no reason why the CM couldn't have told me if I had a pin code or not. She said that the only thing that they could not do is apply it to my reservation, but that they certainly could check for one. I guess I will be calling back tomorrow...along with my TA.

Just wondering since we've never used one before. Why do you choose to book through a TA?

Honestly, our TA is a good friend of mine and our daughters play on the same soccer league, so I guess we do it more so to just help one another out than anything :) She's great at what she does and I figure that she can benefit from the added money as I can benefit to her adding any discounts, pins and whatnot and making my payments, so to me it just works out. I do handle my own dining, simply because I just like doing it myself in order to suit our itinerary. :goodvibes

Thanks for your explanation. We've never used one do I didn't know if I was missing out on anything. I think I'm too controlling type A to allow a TA to do ours but that is very nice of you to look out for a friend!

No problem. Nope, your not missing anything, we are just blessed to have 'The Disney Queen' (as she's known to many) as a friend/agent :rotfl: I am bit of a control freak as far as vacation planning goes, so that is why I handle our dining, itinerary and things like that. She is fine with doing everything for her clients, but she is perfectly happy with letting anyone handle the details of their trip if they want to, which works for me.
