I have read many messages about people having problems with New reservationists at WDTC but Haven't had any problems... UNTIL TODAY!!! I have a friend that works for CRO whom told me to call today b/c he had heard AP rates for may would be coming out today at the earliest. I called the 407-WDISNEY number and a girl answered... I said "yes can I be transfered to... in CRO" She then says to me "CRO?" I said yes the Central Reservations office, I would like to book a room only reservation and he has been helping me... She proceeds to tell me that there is no such thing as CRO and she can help me with anything I need. I chuckled in shock, then said well I am just calling to see if May AP rates have been released. The response I get is "No, Thank You for calling Disney Travel, have a nice day!!!" I said Ummmm... ok thanks and she disconnected! I figure one of two things Either she is just having a bad day in her own life and I got the brunt of it... Or she is really sick of people calling for those rates??? Oh well I have had those days but still it caught me off guard a little!

Poor woman must have been constipated! No other way to explain it...

Seriously, whenever a telephone rep is EVIL I always hope that the call is one that they record "for training purposes." Your call can be used as the "how not to treat the public" example!

Hope your next call is better...

I also called today about the May AP rates. I actully did talk with CRO, but I had a wonderful CM. When I asked about the AP rates she started laughing. She said she had already been asked that so many times today. Anyway, she did tell me she had no idea about the AP rates, but to keep trying. She said if it was her, she would wait for the AP rates too. One funny thing that really made her so special was that my 4 year old DS was standing there saying "Who's on the phone?" , she said tell him it's Mickey Mouse checking in.;) I just love Disney!

Don't you just love having to pay long distance fees trying to spend money only to have someone be rude to you.

I wish I had so many customers willing to pay to call me to spend money.

Seriously, we've called every day for a month and surprisingly we've had very polite reservationists at both WDTC and Central Res. In fact, on nearly every call they have asked if we were already booked with "the code" just in case we didn't get an AP rate. They freely offered to book a code res and told us that we would still be able to apply the AP when and if it becomes available. That's an absolute first--used to be a major cat and mouse game of 20 questions trying to find out about a discounted rate! :D

Maybe it was the heat after all. . .

I have also had very pleasant CM's with every call that I've made to Disney. I actually end up in those long conversations with them (thank God for free long distance on the cell phone):D They are always plesant and extremely helpful. However, when I called to make my WL reservation I was also told no AP rates yet. We'll keep waiting.

I got a good chuckle out of this one - I'm always thinking that they have the best CM's and the worst CM's...I've learned that when you get one of the later - say thank you very much for your help, hang up, call back and hope you get a better one when you call back.

Yesterday I called down to see if I could upgrade my room for our stay in May....the CM seemed helpful enough - I was asking various questions and maybe pressing the bar a little (but, hey - it's my dime, my vacation, my money and her job) and she'd put me on hold....well, that last time she put me on hold to check something out with someone else - she didn't quite connect right, GOT ME BACK ON THE LINE and proceeded to mimic and rag about me and all my questions TO ME!!!

When I said to her - "Are you finished??" I swear I heard her draw drop all the way in Jersey.....I was promptly transefered to a supervisor who apologized profusely and helped out with all those horrible questions I was asking....still on my dime.....

Oh my God!!!

I can't believe that.

ROFLMAO

Griggle,
I think that is hysterical - (don't take that the wrong way) I just think that your comment "are you finished?" was so classy - good for you!
And it was probably a very good lesson for that reservation agent - I bet she NEVER does that again.

First of all, I agree that she was rude and that is totally inappropriate. And, Griggle, wow your story is amazing. Now, I’ll probably get flamed for this and mean no offense, but just a couple of thoughts… One is that I wish people wouldn’t use acronyms (CRO/AP, etc.) when communicating to people outside of this group. We don’t know whether anyone else knows these acronyms and I can see where it would be frustrating to have no idea what someone is talking about. The other thing is that I don’t understand why everyone has to call every day. We know that as soon as AP rates come out it will be posted here and on Mousesavers, so why do we need to burden CRO with so many calls about this. In the long run, we’re paying for the extra time and manpower it takes to deal with all these calls.

Well Pugsley, I agree with some of what you have said but first of all, I would like to say that I never use acronyms when I call to book my stays. I didn't use them on this particular call for sure. I don't even use them at work... in fact it took me a while to get used to using them here on the Dis. As for Calling CRO when we know it will be posted here... Well forgive me just this once for wanting to get a heads up on it. One reason I did it is because I know that the minute they are posted 30,000 other Diser's will be calling for the same thing... I am taking my whole family on a 32 day trip to WDW, we happen to be stayin at a resort that sales out of AP Rate very quickly. I have been going to
WDW ever since before I really remember, I go multiple times a year, I've learned to be very very patient, but I am a bit anxious to make this one very special since my Mom and Dad as well as my brother/sisters will all be there. Over all Pug I agree with you completely. But I felt I had to defend myself a bit after reading your post.

I’m sorry, phanomouse, I really didn’t mean that to be directed at you personally. Tons of people do it, and I thought from your post you had said CRO and they didn’t know what that meant. Sometimes with the acronyms it just comes naturally to use them since we’re so used to them, and we forget that Disney may not use the same (or any) acronyms. It’s just a hot button with me -- I used to date a guy who used acronyms when talking to CMs and they would look at him like he was some kind of nut (and in fact he was!). I hope you get your AP ate and that you have a wonderful trip. I’m waiting for May AP rates myself!

Just a note about acronyms. When I was checking to the VWL as a DVC member, the valet asked me if I was a DVC member. DVC members get free valet parking at the DVC resorts. I said, yes I am, do you need to see my membership card. She said since I knew what DVC meant, she knew I was a member!! So, CM's do use some of the same acromyms we do here, and they do understand, sometimes.
