Has anyone been to this? Is it something worth doing? Need to jumpstart the holiday mood. We are still not used to it being christmas season and 60 degrees outside!:santa:

We have done this a couple of times and it is a lot of fun. It has become very popular, so you have to actually choose what hour you want to tour the lights. We have driven inour own car and used their Jolly Trolly on different trips. The Trolly was fun if you have a fun group that likes to sing, but it entails another line to wait in to load up.

There is also a big Christmas shop that sells ornaments (we though them very reasonably priced) and food. You can decorate your own cookies (for a fee) and do some other crafty things. There is Santa to visit and get pics with. You can buy their photo package, but they will be happy to let you use your own camera as well. We really enjoyed it, Saturdays are quite crowded. The price includes a day pass to the gardens as well, so we spent the whole day. Their bird of prey show is quite good.

Yes, it is worth it to go at least once. It is the same every year, so it gets kind boring if you go more than once. It is much better to ride the Jolley Trolley, cause it is like you are riding in a sleigh with a horse, some one is describing each scene and you can hear the music, but I will advise you to take a blanket, cause the wind can be chilly some nights. If you are able to get tickets for the first round, then you won't have to wait as long. We usually luck out and get 9:00pm, so it is almost 11:30pm or 12:00am when we get out of there. There is a great shop and they have performers sometimes. Also make sure to watch the light show performance on the beach.

Have a great time.

It's been years - maybe 10? - since I've been with my family, but I remember it being great. But then, I love large numbers of Christmas lights. I'm like Clark Griswold, but with a smaller house and not as many lights because it would cost so much to run them. But if I could...

Like PP said -you would get tired of it every year. It is not amazingly high tech -just lots of nice lights.
Check the weather -if you are doing the jolly trolley and it is cool -really bundle up and bring blankets etc..
The open air trolley is cooler than you might think. We do a little cycling and enjoy Calloway as a whole. The birds of prey show and the butterfly gardens are nice. Also you are close to the Little White House. (we are history buffs as well as FDR fans)
We live a few hours away and occasionally do an overnight.

DH is taking me to the Bulloch House Restaurant in Warm Springs on Saturday night for our Anniversary and he suggested we go see this again, since we haven't been in about 5 years. I know it hasn't changed, but it is a little nostalgic. I did get an e-mail from them and they have gone "Green" this year with the lights, might be interesting to see if you can see the changes.

I never went to Callaway Gardens but went to Lake Lanier's, which was INCREDIBLE! The radio station I was working for at the time gave us free tickets and we took a van full of my friend's foster kids and my son. The kids were estatic! I would definitely recommend it.

I'm taking Michael to the Stone Mountain Christmas too to get into the Christmas mood, too. You might like to take the girls there, too! http://www.stonemountainpark.com/mini-section/default.aspx?id=42
