Call me paranoid, never riding outdoor rides during fireworks

This was indeed a very small fire, it was reported at 1030, and declared out at 1100 and the attraction was open at midnight.

The mermaid fire was smaller yet, it was out with less then 1 20 lb. fire extinguisher.

With the many thousands of WDW shows over the years, its a pretty excellent safety record.

I was quite surprised to hear that it re-opened so quickly. From any pictures / videos, it certainly didn't look small. But thank goodness...and mostly that no one was hurt.

But...but...but...car accidents, ebola, amoebas, shark attacks, and getting struck by lightning don't require FP+. Those are all tier 3 choices. ;)

Up to you. I also think you should probably plan to avoid all of Fantasyland during for at least an hour after the fireworks show if this is of concern to you.

There was some heavy wind the other night, so it's not something that might usually happen.

Plenty of other areas of the park to enjoy, but if you're planning to avoid all attractions for this reason, it's a little overdoing it.

okay... I missed whatever happened that sparked this discussion. Could someone fill me in?

There was a small roof fire on 7DMT(likely fireworks), it was put out in minutes and the attraction opened a hour after that.

Of course it was GREATLY blown out of proportion, to the point there were *I saw IT myself* reports of the whole attraction burning though and caving in on itself!
