I’d always take a Contemporary upgrade over Coronado.
Hmm… you got me thinking what would I take? I have a soft spot for WL so I’d prob ask for that one thinking it’s the cheapest deluxe option I would accept so maybe there would be a chance? I think I would find CT Main Tower or Poly acceptable due to my curiosity about the remodels, any EP Resort due to transport to EP/DHS & Riviera because it has a real coffee shop and I love the property.I wouldn’t take that upgrade unless I was doing a MK heavy trip with small children.
I would do it if they offer YC/BC and maybe any other deluxe but not a CR garden wing. Now a theme park view I would go for.
But we’re talking Coronado Tower. I’d take CT garden over CSR any day too if we weren’t talking Gran Destino Tower.I’d always take a Contemporary upgrade over Coronado.

So Garden View would mean you are in the Garden Wing; there is also a Std View Garden Wing room. The CR tower rooms are theme park view and lake view.
This is a girls only trip with my 3 daughters(29,31,33). They are teachers and I am a nurse. This trip is all about dinner, drinks, pool time and sleeping in. They’ve been going to WDW since they were babies, so while we will do the parks, it’s not a rope drop to fireworks type of trip. I can remember when they were teenagers, they’d want to stay back in the nice air conditioned room and watch Lifetime movies
!
Ahh, in that case I’d be much more inclined to take the upgrade due to Monorail access to Monorail Resorts and EP. Also the pool might have a more chill vibe than the main pool at CSR (I’m not a fan of CSR Quiet Pools since they don’t have hot tubs). This is a girls only trip with my 3 daughters(29,31,33). Well when the new Steakhouse 71 opens next month (Sept.) in the location of "The Wave" it will have a new bar. And when the California Grill (may have new name) when it reopens after closing on Oct 2nd for a 50th refresh.Well, at CR I think the only bar option at the moment is Outer Rim?

Note: California Grill is currently unavailable for bookings after October 2 as we create a special dining experience for the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World Resort.

I finally called back. I got offered an upgrade to a garden view room at the Contemporary. I said I’d call back after talking to family members. We are AP holders, but with no annual pass or any discounts, there isn’t a huge price difference between our tower room at Coronado and Contemporary garden view. What would you guys do???
Nobody else has received a call for any room at CSR. This sounds like a very specific situation where Disney wants the room those dates for some reason only they know.I have not received a call and our trip is also scheduled October into November. I really don't want to stay anywhere else....

If that is the case, I would take the upgrade. You can monorail pub crawl to all the lounges (even Territory and Geyser point if the boats are indeed back by then) like enchanted rose and Tambu. You can watch the fireworks with a drink in your hand from the lookout at CR or book CG for late night. Two pools which aren't the best but you have an option. This is a girls only trip with my 3 daughters(29,31,33). They are teachers and I am a nurse.
