We have (had it seems :goodvibes) an adr for 6:50 p.m. on 9/10. I came home last night and received a message from a manager at CP that they have to reschedule all reservations that are after 4 p.m. for that night! Now, in full disclosure, I knew I was pushing it by making a reservation for that late during NOJ although I didn't think it would be an issue as long as we ate and left. I wouldn't have a problem if they told me I had to bump it back an hour or two, but isn't it crazy to not allow any reservations after 4? Isn't the park open until 7?

Part of the disappointment is linked to the fact that MK is closed early on 4 nights of our trip. Now, I knew this for a long time, and I'm not mad or complaining about it - its just disappointing. And, most of you know how hard it is to make all these adrs - figuring out what park you'll be in and trying to guess what you'll feel like eating and what time you might be hungry :rotfl:. Anyway, I'm a little frustrated right now and waiting for a manager to call me back (I left a message this morning).

I'm not really sure how to resove this. I checked this morning and there's not much available that would be easy to get to. We don't have hoppers, so eating in another park is out. I'll let you know how it turns out though :).

What about going to Poly to eat at Ohana or Kona Cafe or possibly 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian and then head back to Magic Kingdom for the evening?

Magic Kingdom closes at 7 that night for "Night of Joy". It seems like the OP made a late ADR so she could get in as much park time as possible. We will be there at the same time. ADR's were made at 180 days out & it is now only 60 days away. Late in the game to find prime dinner time spots during the free dining time period. :sad2:

I agree with you OP. Canceling everything after 4 PM at this late date? Very upsetting. I actually think 1900 Park Faire is a good idea if you can get in around 7 - 7:30. Comparable buffet with characters. Of course, if you are traveling with little boys, they may not want to se the Cinderella characters.

Hopefully the manager can help get you in no matter where you want to eat. I would suggest having a few ideas in mind before you get the call back. Ask for what you now want & what will work for your family & see what they can do for you. If you really want Crystal Palace, what about a lunch there & a counter service dinner back at your hotel or at Downtown Disney? If nothing else, Planet Hollywood at DTD takes the dining plan & the portions are huge! You could split some entrees there & save some credits for another meal.

Good luck & please let us know what happens!

Well, they called me back and while the lady I spoke with was very nice, there was no wiggle room or help on finding something I preferred. Ohana is completely booked - I would have liked that :). I did decide to do lunch there although that's not ideal (because we LOVE CHH for lunch :goodvibes). I could tell the CM (not really sure that she was a manager), felt bad about it and I decided there was no purpose in complaining to her. I think it was a done deal.

I may email Disney just to lay out my thoughts although I don't think it will change anything. Does anyone know the email address for guest services - I couldn't find it on their website?

If you LOVE CHH for lunch, you will LOVE it for dinner. It's the same menu. Just have your TS lunch, then eat at CHH around 6:30. Problem solved.

First I would like to say sorry your plans are having to be changed at such a late date.
I am confused :confused3 You decided to do lunch at CP? Personally if you like CHH for lunch I would stick with that and check online and on the cancelled ADR thread for 'Ohanas. It is very likely something will open up.
Another suggestion, what about WCC at WL? short boat ride over and back from MK.

Well, I'm not going to lose sleep over it or anything :rotfl:, but the problem's not exactly solved since CHH is only open for lunch. Unless something has changed - then that would be great :goodvibes. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Actually, WCC is a good idea and one that I think has availability. We do have one other day at MK, so I may be able to get CP for that day. I'll also keep trying for Ohana. Thanks for your sympathy too - its not a huge deal, but it feels nice when somebody emphasizes :goodvibes.

I was surprised when the CM told me CP will be closing at 4 p.m. that day. I will be somewhat upset if that's not the case when we're there :upsidedow.

I totally hear you about if they should not close at 4 that day. It is hard trying to schedule ADR's when there are early closings due to parties etc at MK. I am going in October and have to schedule around MNSSHP.

Sorry, didn't realize CHH was open only for lunch that day. That IS a bummer!

I got the same call, I also had a 6:50 ADR, for the same reason. I don't think they are "closing" at 4, because I was able to go on line and book a 4:45. I think they are blocking out ADRS for NOJ folks. We ended up at Cape May Buffet, instead, and took another night at CP. Cheesed me off good...the rep I talked to said they didn't know about NOJ 120 days ago. Apparently there were the ONLY ones that didn't know!:confused3

Yes, I was "surprised" as well...they open at 3:15 and close at 4? Really? And I can still make a 4:45 ADR? Yeah. BTW, Cape May Buffet has openings, and since it's at the Beach Club, you would be OK. You could also hang out at the Boardwalk or go mini golfing (our 2 choices since MK closes early). We do have hoppers, so we may head to EPCOT since they have EMH.

I would have taken a 4:45 (maybe it wasn't available when I talked with her?), but she insisted that they closed at 4. It will be hard to not be upset if I see them open when I'm there. Maybe I won't even go there that day :sad2:.

They didn't offer the 4:45 when they called me, but the story sounded a bit, ummm, false, so I called Disney Dining. I asked for the latest ADR they had on my day, and she had 4:45 available. We want to eat after the park closes, so we opted for the 8 PM at Cape May.

This is standard practice for when there is a hard ticket even such as NOJ or graduate night. We ran into the same problem in May. While it is frustrating it is what it is. There is no reason to be upset but the latest they took seatings in May was 4pm as well. I'd not want that 4:45 ADR ... it may have slipped through the cracks and they are going to have the same problem you are with even less time to make changes.

They actually called me again today. It sounds like the person I spoke with yesterday didn't mark me off her list :goodvibes. She also tried to tell me that the park closed at 4 p.m. Only when I pushed her a little bit did she ask her manager who relayed to her that they were closing the restaurant only at 4 p.m. in order to "clear out" the park for NOJ. I feel a little more upset about this today - closing the restaurant 3 hours before closing and letting us know this close in just feels a little wrong. Again, its not a huge deal and the rest of my trip is coming along even better than I had thought. But still, I feel a little unsettled about it.

I don't have a problem with the practice. What's frustrating is that they let me make the adr in the first place, apparently are still taking later adrs, and that they didn't let me know before now. I definately would have planned on Ohana for that night if I had known this. And while I know there's nothing I can do about it, its still a little upsetting.

This happened to me too. Sunday night as I had company over for dinner I got the call from CP. She said they had to cancel my 4:55 reservation because the restaurant was closing at 4. So I asked what was the latest time I could get in and she was able to change our time to 3:40. My family really wants to eat at CP but no one whats to eat dinner that early. So Monday I called Disney back and was not able to get anything better or CP on another day. I also went on-line and noticed CP had a 4:45 opening which I immediately booked. Disney sent me a cancellation email 10 minutes later! I can understand that things come up but if they are going to book another group then they should offer the first party that booked something else. Don't just kick us out and say sorry.
