California Screamin closed for my stay

Hi

I am arriving at LAX on the 21st of January and we are having that night in the parks. We then have all of the 22nd and 23rd. We have most of the 24th, and fly out that night. I looked on the disney site and it says that california screamin is closed for refurbishment. Are these plans proposed, or solidified in concrete. Do they ever change? I want to know weather Screamin will definately be closed, or should i keep a faint hope of it being open.

Not that my info to share with you will help, but they have been down since Labor Day. I was there the weekend of Labor Day. Hopefully it will be up and running by the time you get there.

California Scramin' is closed due to an accident. I believe that the cause has been found and they are working on fixing it.

There is no way to know when it will be up yet. It could be a few weeks, months or longer.

Facts and rumors.

FACT: CA Screamin closed due to accident on July 29 which sent about 13 people to the hospital, but none with serious injuries. It has been closed ever since. DCA lists it is closed for refurb, but it is really closed for accident investigation and testing.

RUMOR: Prior to the accident, CA Screamin was due to go down in January for a scheduled refurb. That may in fact still happen.

FACT: The investigation has progressed to the point where they are running tests with large water containers to simulate people.

RUMOR: Since DCA was going to go down in January for refurb, DLR might just do the refurb in parallel with the investigation so that may be happening now.

RUMOR: DLR is working hard to have Screamin back up for the holiday season which is considered to start in mid-November. Rumors are that they may have it back up in October.
