California School Schedule (June 2013)

When does school end in the Anaheim and surrounding area next June 2013. Are they year round and it does not matter or is there a June date that most schools are out? Will help in our planning. Thanks.

I"m not in the Anaheim area but in Northern California and our schools end May 31st. We were thinking of going to Disney the first week in June and have changed that trip to somewhere less crowded LOL.

It is going to vary...My nieces live in the area and one gets out the first week of June and the other is out the third week of June.

We are NorCal as well and get out May 31st.

We went the day school out this past summer and it was actually very nice there.

I think you can assume crowds from june 1 onward. I have been the past 2 years the first weekend and/or week in june. VERY crowded! Especially with grad nights, grad vacations and school trips.
If you have any flexibility in planning, avoid june if you are worried about crowds.

School are varied on the end dates. You are going to find them getting out anywhere between end of May and mid-June.

Another thing to keep in mind is that many elementary schools will have an end of year Field trip to Disneyland and of course Grand-Nights that now "mix-in" with day guests.

The state schools get out in may. Other colleges are out in 1st week of June. Some hs get out in first week of June others 2 nd week. And younger kids out the second week. Everyone is out by end of the second week of June.

Bmorr: Google Los Angeles school district, Anaheim school districts, etc and they should have THIER schedules online that show their off dates. That would be more reliable as its straight from the "horses mouth" so to speak.

There can be schools a few miles apart having different schedules so without looking at each district in the LA area (not just Anaheim), it will be hard to tell. The general suggestion that schools let out from the last week of May until the middle of June is pretty accurate. One thing you might want to consider is waiting until July when the SoCal AP's are blocked. When you combine the small window for SoCal passes, grad nights and everyone else doing an early summer vacation to "beat the heat", I would avoid June completely.

It's the etc part that gets difficult.

There are so many "local" districts that are both close enough and large enough to effect attendance it would be tough to compile them all. Besides which, I really think the influx from neighboring states can have just as much of an impact.

We played guide for friends who were visiting from AZ few weeks ago. They ran into more people they knew in the parks than we did, and we live less than 30 miles away.

BTW, the 3 largest So Cal districts near us get out June 11th, 19th, 20th in 2013, so the second week of June info isn't correct for the area as a whole.

As I mentioned above, with the SoCal APs blocked, July should be better than June. July 17th should see a bump in visitors as it's the park's anniversary. DL was pretty mellow for our trip this year with Cars Land drawing bigger crowds, but on the 17th, DL was packed. Also, as unexpected as it may seem, Saturdays are not so bad in July either. Not only are SoCal passes blocked, but so are Deluxe passes as well. We had other commitments the Saturday during our trip but reports were that Saturdays were some of the best touring days.

I looked at dates from the beginning to June to the end of July for our trip. The price of nearby hotels steadily increased from reasonable the first week of June to very expensive by the beginning of July. I was there the last week of May this year and it was nice, not overly crowded. Our schools get out a week later this year.

Honestly, some of the hotels didn't have dates available in July which surprised me.
