California (L.A. area) DISers

I just got back from my first trip to L.A. (and my first trip to California!) and I just wanted to say how much I loved the city and the surrounding areas!

I must admit, I went expecting to NOT like it.....the smog, the snarled freeways and just the general HUGENESS of it, but I thought it was wonderful! I didn't get lost one single time, and didn't find the traffic to be all that different than the rush hour gridlock we have here in Florida (ya'll just have so many more lanes of gridlock, LOL!)

My younger DS is very interested in attending the University of Southern California (hence the reason for the visit), and we both fell in love with the gorgeous campus and were very impressed with the school. Before the trip, I was not happy about this being one of the top choices on his list of possibilities, but now I'm thinking he'd be so lucky to have an opportunity to expand his horizons and go to school there!

Just thought I'd share how much I loved your city!

Hi Bet! I love L.A. too! Glad you got the WARM and wonderful weather in my home, I'm freezing in Orlando at the moment.

I knew you would enjoy the USC campus and I'm glad you guys had a successful trip...and that you would be okay if your son ends up attending school out west!

Michelle, the ONLY negative about the trip was not getting to have a DIS meet with you! But it may very well end up that I'll be visiting lots more in the future, so I'll look forward to seeing you out there next time!

And yes, the weather was absolutely fantastic!!! Sun & warm weather WITHOUT the humidity, I loved it!

I hope it warms up and that you have a great time in WDW!

MJ, I knew you were in So. Cal, but I had no idea you were so close!!! I'll definitely let you know if and when I'm coming back!

Yes, it was very windy, on Thursday, but with the beautiful blue sky and warm weather, it didn't bother us at all.

Hi Bet,

I like San Diego a lot. I think traffic is bad everywhere anymore. This is a little off topic, but I am thinking of moving to Florida. Have family in Ft. Lauderdale and most other relatives on the east coast from NJ on down. What do you like most about Florida and dislike. I know I don't want to live in the southern part. Some people really like Florida others say they can't stand it. I no about the humidity and that is something I will have to get used to.
