I was wondering the same thing. Is it possible to have drinks in the lounge area after you are finished with dinner in order to see Wishes? Has anyone done this?

You may be able to, if there is room, but it has often been reported that if you dined at CG earlier you will be allowed back up to watch the fireworks from the outside observation deck.

If you have access to the observation deck for fireworks, don't pass up the opportunity. We got to take in the fireworks from the deck following my sister's wedding reception a few years ago, and that was my favorite part of the evening.

I was really looking forward to dinner here but we just didn't love it. We had a 7:30 ADR last Thursday, hoping to see the 8:00 Wishes. We checked in at 7:20, directly behind a family with a 7:40 ADR. They were seated within 5 minutes and we were seated at 8:25, so I guess the best strategy is to get there as early as you can. I knew we probably wouldn't be seated in time, but would still get to see the show from the balcony, which was fantastic. The kids were really getting antsy (and hungry) and the fireworks were a great diversion.

We didn't really enjoy our meal, and my husband referred to the whole place as "style over substance". He had salmon and said it was fine, nothing out of the ordinary. I had the filet, which was drenched in a very salty sauce and had maybe a tablespoon or so of onions and potatoes underneath it. Very disappointing. The kids had flatbread and grilled chicken, which were average. I am usually not hungry for dessert but devoured my delicious bananas buzz and my husband picked at his, but neither of us can remember what it was.

I didn't find CG to be worth 2 TS, but maybe we were just expecting too much.

I've dined at California Grill these past 2 years with my wife and her parents on two different occasions. The first year to watch Wishes from a unique vantage point from their rooftop deck, and the following year to celebrate my 34th birthday. Both experiences were enjoyable with exquisite food, service and ambience. I look forward to returning in October 2008.
