Okay, about how long does it take to be seated and finish dinner at California Grill on a Sunday night the first weekend in June? I was thinking about 2 hours so if we made reservations for 8:15 should be finishing dessert and drinking coffee by the time Wishes starts at 10pm?

What do you think? The kids are going over to Neverland club, so we don't want them over there, too, too late because still want to make a fairly early start at AK the next day.

Always assuming you are seated on time, it sounds just about right. Once we're in, our meals at CG always take just about 2 hours. OF course, that includes appetizer, drinks, and dessert along with the main meal.

Okay, I think I might make it for 8:00pm. We can feed the kids their dinner, drop them off at Neverland and then get back 7:30-7:45. The sunsets at 8:20 that night, that way we could get there a little early get a drink, check out the sunset, finish our dinner, then see Wishes on the balcony. Then go back in get the kids.

So fingers crossed, I will be calling to get ADR on our 180 date, hope the system is back up then but I don't think it will be.

I have an ADR for 8:00 on a night that Wishes starts at 9:00. If I am not seated yet, can I still go to the observation area? If we have been seated, how does that work? Can we see them from inside or do we leave the table or just miss them that night?

You should be seated before they start. Inside seats are not all they are cracked up to be as many of them are not directly against the glass and there can be a glare. So most people go outside on the observation platforms. Just tell your server when you are seated that you want to go out to view the fireworks and they will space your courses so that you are not leaving an entree sitting there getting cold in order to watch.

jenfur: If by some chance you aren't seated, you can go out on the deck. They will let you up ahead of time if you have an ADR. Just don't count on sitting at the bar or in the lounge!!

FYI, last time I was there I had 7:45 reservations and didn't get seated until after Wishes. There reservations system is terrible. Now we were a large party of 8 so maybe that made a difference but still.......
