California Grill vs Narcooses

I have had meals at both and times them for fireworks every time. I think that it depends on what you want for your setting. There is something very special about viewing the Fireworks from the CG. That vantage point is spectacular, but this is not a quiet romantic restaurant. I like it, but you need to knwo what it is and is not. This is a very family friendly restaurant.

I like the food and atmosphere at Narcoossees. The fireworks view is different from CG, it is lower and closer. Given a choice lately we choose Narcoossees.

Dinner AND fireworks?

No contest. The California Grill.

Viewing the fireworks from your table can be a challange with either restaurant, depending on where you are seated. What makes Narcossee even more challanging is the fact that people stand right outside the window to watch the fireworks, blocking your view.

However, with CG, you can walk out onto the roof to view (and hear the music too) the fireworks from a perspective that is completely unique to all of Disney (world at least) The view alone is specatcular. You can even see (unlike that silly blue sunset spot) Splash Mountain and the flash that goes off for the big drop photo op.

You dont' have to time your meal with the showing of the fireworks. If you eat early, you can come back up (with your dinner reciept) to view the show.

Did both last trip...California Grill hands down for food, service and fireworks.

Have done both. Both are excellent, but California Grill is my favorite. I highly recommend it, especially if you plan to view the fireworks. The view is incredible!

Sooo..... If you were me and this is only our 3rd Disneyworld visit would you go to Narcosee or. CG?

Forgot to mention no need of romance we have 2 children.

Abigail, I have been following your multiple posts on this. I feel you want to plan the " perfect" experience. There is No Such Thing. Tastes vary. We Can Not tell you what you will like best
My best advice is to stop agonizing over this, make a decision based on what you have learned and then move on.
Both are wonderful.
Many today have said Ca Grille I don't care for it. We are all different. I would choose Narcoossee's.
Good Luck

We're trying California Grill (Brunch at the Top) on our next trip, and we're heading back to Narcoossee's for the second time. Last time we went to Narcoossee's, we timed it so that we could go out onto the dock to view the fireworks. Then we came back in and had dessert. :cloud9: It was very memorable. For us, we love the food at Narcoossee's, so that's why we're heading back. We love the full steamed lobster, grilled steak, and almond-crusted cheesecake.

My vote is for California Grill. You really get the "wow" factor there! You are escorted up in a private elevator and as soon as you are escorted to your table you are struck by the amazing view (floor to ceiling windows with a view of MK). The food and service are great and you can even see the EP and DHS fireworks from the observation deck on the other side of the restaurant. We've been there a few times, but on our last trip in December, my DS9 was just so amazed by the view.

Narcoosee's is loud. You only get the view when you go outside and we've had two very bad experiences there (they forgot to give us our food and then attempted to serve it to us stone cold. We then had to wait for them to re-cook the entire meal.) We will never eat there again.

So am I correct in thinking that if we eat at Narcoosee's, they are OK with us leaving our table to go out on the deck to watch the fireworks? I'm also trying to decide whether to do California Grill or Narcoosee's for my birthday dinner!

We LOVE the CA Grill brunch and have done it on our last two trips and planned for it on our next one. And, it is nice to be able to come back later for fireworks. We are going to try Narcoossee's brunch this time around and maybe dinner.

I love the fireworks from CA Grill's deck but know I won't see any of the projection show for HEA. I too was wondering how the fireworks compare at Narcoossee's.

CG has the best view for fireworks. The food, meh. I wouldn't go there with high expectations. My previous two visits since the place re-opened after the refurb was quite disappointing. And this use to be my fave place.

Never tried Narcoosees's but California Grill was one of the best meals I have ever had on Disney property. And the view from the deck was great.

Ha ha.... So stuck! Going with Narcoossees! Thanks, I needed that! No more CG posts.

Both are good, we went to CG last week and enjoyed it. I will tell you that the HEA show isn't as good to watch as Wishes was outside of the park. You pretty much lose the projection aspect which is a major part of the show, at least from CG. Obviously there are still fireworks but not as many as there was with Wishes. You can see parts of Star Wars fireworks from the CG, but no sound is piped in. Food wise I probably lean a little more towards Narcoossee's, however our sever wasn't the greatest on our last visit.

I've eaten at both and hands down, CG wins the competition. We had horrible service at Narcoossee's the first time we went and it was mediocre the second time. The food is good, but not outstanding. It reminds me of the current food at Le Cellier rather than the "upscale" dining it's supposed to be. CG was miles better. We had a gorgeous view of Cinderella Castle at sunset, a wonderful waiter who actually knew his stuff when it came to recommending food based on our tastes, and some absolutely superbly cooked food. I had the bison and it was easily one of the best pieces of meat I've eaten in my lifetime.

Speaking for the food.

Not a huge fan of CG entree’s. We eat the sushi, appetizers, and sometimes drinks.

I enjoy Narcoosess’s food more. Yet I love seafood.
