California Grill - To go or not to go!

there is a dress code . I believe men need a shirt with a collar? (I'm not sure if a polo shirt is acceptable). as always, they are more lax with women (ie many dresses have no sleeves).
just wear something "nice". no jeans, tank tops, tshirts, shorts, etc.l(although dress shorts MIGht be acceptable, not sure) It's a classy place.(but not stuffy). they don't require suit jackets for men.
hubby wore a nice pair of slacks and a casual shirt with a collar (short sleeves). I wore a dress to the knee, with no sleeves.
have fun!!

According to the website when I booked Cali Grill... there is not a dress code anymore except that men should not wear tank tops..... T-Shirts are listed as acceptable

really? that is surprising. although there has always been a double standard with women's and men's dress codes. (once hubby went with friends for a drink after work at a restaurant. they told him..at the bar.. that he couldn't be served with a tank top on. the female bartender was wearing a tank top).
I don't care myself, but I think a lot of people prefer California Grille to remain an "upscale" restaurant, (befitting the prices, DDP or not) and would prefer to keep it "fancy".

CG is always one of our favorites. The last time we were there, my little one fell asleep at the table into his dinner. The CM wrapped up his dinner with a dessert into a "special" bag. He was thrilled to find it in the am. We have always had the best service on property there, it really is a nice experience. The outdoor viewing area is really beautiful in our opinion.

It is also to easy to hop on the monorail if you want to go over to Epcot.

Cali Grill is amazing. I would always pick that first.
Next I would pick either Citrico's or Narcoossee's.
If not Epcot = Tutto

I've eaten at CG many times and the food is always excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to eat there again.

...that's my opinion on the view, anyway. Yes, it is is spectactular and I cried actual, real tears of joy when my husband and I were sat at our table directly in front of the windows, in full view of the castle, in time for "Wishes."

But its the food that I will be going back for... We had an incredible meal that I swear I can still taste! Of all the signatures we did for our anniversary tirp, Cali Grill is the only one we're going to bring our son back to and I'll gladly pay OOP for, if I decide to go that route. Its that good!

I wish it were local, because its perfect for a girl's night out, too! Great drinks and excellent service, as well.

CG is our favorite!!! Best sushi I've ever had. Flatbreads are to die for. My husband still groans with happiness at the thought of the dinner he had there the last time we went!

One great thing about the place besides the food and of course the view is the fact that you can really stretch a meal out there. We've easily spent two hours from start to finish the last two times we went - not deliberately, just because we were enjoying ourselves so much - and our servers encouraged us to do so. What a refreshing change from the usual in-and-out service in "the real world"! I am so excited to go back there in...96 days!
