California Grill Timing

We're thinking of booking CG for our arrival day. I want to watch the 8:00 Spectro, before leaving for dinner (we'll go dressed for dinner). We don't mind missing Wishes @ 9:00. Do you think we could make an 8:45 ADR? Should the restaurant be quieter, after Wishes? Also, we'll be parked in the MK parking lot. Will we be able to get back to our car w/o a problem or should we move it to CR? We have the TIW card & could valet at CR. Going to get the car, before dinner, will take longer though. Which would you do? TIA for the help.

I think you might be cutting it pretty close. SpectroMagic is about a 30 minute show and when it starts depends on where you are on the route. You then have to make your way out of MK, onto the resort Monorail, and up elevators at CR to California Grill. I think you would be safer with a 9:00PM reservation.

After your meal you need to take the resort monorail all the way around to MK. How late it runs will depend on how late the parks are open but I don't think you should have a problem. Alternatively, you can walk from CR back to MK. This might be your best bet.

i agree, go with a later time like 9pm or 9:15pm. Rushing to get to an ADR is not that fun, been there! However, they are supposed to hold it for 15 min later -so i hear.

Honestly if Wishes is at 9 and you make an ADR for 8:45 chances are very good to excellent that you will not be seated on time anyway because who is going to give up their table 15 minutes before fireworks. You might as well make it for after fireworks and yes, it is much quieter after anyway.

Thanks for all the input. I was thinking that if we booked an 8:45 ADR we'd be one of the 1st parties seated after the mass exodus. Thanks to your suggestion we'll go with a 9:00 pm ADR, which would hopefully give my DH time to move our car to CR.

The CR is about a 5 minute walk from the MK entrance, I wouldn't bother with the monorail if I was in a hurry.
