We arrived 45 min early for our reservation. We put in a request for a table by the window and let them know we are OK waiting until one becomes available. We have a seat in the lounge and are waited on immediately. Mo is our cocktail waitress and is very friendly and brings the bottle of wine we ordered right away (Chinon Cab Franc yum tasty).
Our wait for our table wasn’t long at all. I don’t even think we drank ½ glass of wine before they came to get us.

Our table had a wonderful view of M.K. and we had a beautiful sunset. The table had Mickey Mouse confetti all over it and we soon discovered that they only do this if your celebrating something. I had told them when I made the reservation we were celebrating our 19’th anniversary.

Our waiter was Andy and he was also very good. We placed an order for appetizers of sushi to start. Mark had the Spicy Kazan roll which was great and I had the Rainbow roll which was good. We then split a bowl of soup I can’t remember what it was I think it was a crab soup, it was good.

After Wishes was over our Filets came out from the kitchen. Mark had ordered his med rare and it came out under cooked and he had to send it back. I ordered mine med and it came out cooked fine but it was dry and wasn’t very flavorful. Mark wasn’t going to send his steak back but Andy wanted him to like his steak and took it back to get refired.

After our second bottle of Cab Franc our Mickey confetti wants to join in the fun.

We each ordered a desert and Mark ordered coffee and I ordered a cappuccino. Marks Banana and Caramel Custard was very good and my Valrhona cake was heavenly. Each of our deserts had a special little chocolate sign congratulating us on our anniversary.

My overall opinion is that service and atmosphere was great at California grill but if we go back we will just order Sushi and wine and forget about the Filets. C’mon man when you can get a sirloin steak from Mama Melrose’s that tastes better then a filet something is wrong.

I personally didn't like California Grill. I could of gotten a better (and much cheaper) meal somewhere else on property.

Fortunately we were on the free dining plan...so we didn't feel ripped off. But I would think twice about using 2 dining credits for C.G. in the future.

Crap, I guess we'll have to grin and bare it. Hopefully it will be OK in a few weeks.

Go in with a great attitude and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.........think twice about the filet though.;)

Seriously??, thats my go to meal if I can't find something else I like. You are right, I we don't like it we just will not go again.

My theory is that my steak wasn't that good becuase they held on the heat while Wishes was going on (nobody is served at that time) and that dried it out and made it tasteless. Maybe if you'r not there during Wishes you will have a perfectly fine steak. But if you want a great Fillet Le Celleir was the best I had while at the world and would choose it any day over Ca.Grills filet.:woohoo:

Wow. One of the very few bad or marginally bad reviews I've ever seen of CG. I hope you are right and it was just because they held your food. CG is my hands down favorite place at Disney and I was just able to grab a ressie for 11/9 at 7:20PM!

Personally, I think that what CG does best is fish. The filet is just OK, but it is by far and away the most popular dish. Try the Grouper or Snapper and you will make out much, much better.

This was probably one of the best meals I've ever had. The service was impeccable, the meal flawless. We ordered the filet, the snapper, the veal and the pork and everything was cooked perfectly and absolutely delish! We were there for a 9:20 ADR and got our meal served after the fireworks without any temp issues. Our waiter (Walter) was phenomenal. We had a large group too (7 adults).

I would go back here in a HEARTBEAT.
