California Grill reservation time to see Wishes

Trying to make ADRs for early August - what would be a good time to make a reservation for the California Grill to see wishes? Would 9pm work? Thank you.

Should be ok as long as you show before your ADR time. Even if you have to wait 30-45 min after, you'll still be up there before Wishes starts at 10pm. Might have to head outside to watch it if you're not seated near the window, though.

With any dinner ADR, you can come back later with your receipt and view Wishes from the deck. Quite personally, I liked it better this way. I was able to watch the sunset from the restaurant, browse the hotel shops a little bit, and stake out a great spot before the diners strolled on out.

According the posted hours for August, it's at 10pm.

We are doing dessert only, so have a ressie for 9:15 or 9:30 I think.

This past January our ADR was for 6:00 and Wishes was at 8:00. We were still eating dessert at that time. And you can't see real well from the tables. There is a bit of an overhang that obscures the view.

You also don't want to book too late (within an hour of Wishes start) because tables will NOT be turning over at that point. People will be drawing out their meals after a point so they can see the fireworks, lingering over dessert and drinks.

I sure hope we don't have to wait 45 minutes for a table. Either way I'm sure DH and I will enjoy ourselves at the lounge grabbing a few drinks if we have too!

It isn't unlikely with a 9:15 reservation. As someone said upthread, few people will turn over a table once they are within an hour of fireworks.

The lounge gets very crowded as tables don't turn over and people show up.

Crossing fingers!!! I will keep trying for an 8:30 or so ADR. And if we have to keep our current ADR I will show up a bit early and hope for the best!

We're doing 7:30 p.m. at Cali Grill this August. Our past experience is they run behind at this time for dinner. In August 2008 their was a tropical storm and we couldn't go outside, didn't have a window seat. The food was outstanding!

If you don't have ressies I would look into it they disappear fast...You should be good regarding your time!

We have the same time. Our experience is that not only do you not get seated on time, but that the meal is slow. We usually do five courses at CG and a bottle of wine - so its easily a two and a half hour meal for us. (Cheese, Sushi, App, Entree, Dessert)

Hmmm...now I'm thinking of changing my ADR. I don't want to start eating after 10 pm. Jiko, FF, Citrico's??? And do Cali Grill in October when we go with the kids??
