California Grill question

We are planning on having dinner at the CG after being at MK all afternoon. But, we are staying at the Dolphin. It's a long way back to get changed for dinner! Is it acceptable to wear our shorts to CG? Or should we rethink our plans and have dinner there another time?

There will be plenty of others in shorts with you Might want to wear khaki type shorts with a nicer shirt but even if you chose tshirts and such.... there will be others dressed the same!

oh good - thanks! I'm sure we'll be wearing khaki-type shorts and nice shirts anyway....but I'll put it in my notes, just in case!

They have a "no tee-shirt" policy. They'll tell you this when you book a PS.

Actually T-shirts are just fine. It's what we always wear (along with shorts) to the California Grill.

Actually, it's a no tank top policy...

This an issue that has been debated a lot on the rest. boards.

We usually dress nice (girls in dresses, guys in khaki shorts and polo shirts)...

I agree...kahki shorts should be just fine.

I will say, though, that you'll see more people wearing shorts and t-shirts with earlier PSs (before 8) than you would after 8. That said, I would not consider California Grill stuffy in the least and you won't stand out no matter what you wear.

I'm glad my mistake was caught. It dawned on me today that it was tank tops, not tee shirts. Funny, how you can't play golf in a tee shirt (collared shirt required) at Disney but you can go to their finer restaurants.

Personally I think it's worth a quick trip back to the hotel to freshen up before dining. I hate sitting down in a nice restaurant and sticking to the seat because I'm hot and sweaty, and just feeling gross. I just can't enjoy my meal felling like that.

You could each carry a fresh shirt in your back pack, with a washcloth, deodorant and a makeup kit ... a quick trip to a restroom at the CR and you can enter the Cali Grill feeling fresher and prettier for your dinner!

many o fthe restaurants in WDW look like shorts and tshirts would be too casual or out of place in the restaurants. My GF thought they same thing when we dined at the CG back in July but actuall on V&A has a stict dresscode. Whatever you wear to the parks is acceptable in the restaurants. Another good thing is small children are welcome everywhere my GF thought her 21 month old would be out of place but truthfully no one should feel out of place anywhere in WDW
