My husband and I will be going for our first ever childfree vacation to Disneyworld in November ... It is for our 14th wedding ann..
I was thinking about getting resevations at the California Grill but we are only interested in the sushi and perhaps a glass of wine ... we are not interested in a full dinner and do not want to spend too much time actually at the California Grill.
Would it be acceptable to do this and do in during "wishes" so that we can get a quick appitizer and drink, see the fireworks and then head off to pleasure island for the rest of the night?
If so what time should I make our resevation for?

Yes, you can do that. When Wishes was at 10, we made reservations at 8:30. When we checked in we asked for a table in the 'lounge' area, thats close to the bar. So while we waited, we sat at the bar and had a few drinks until something opened up. Once we did, we grabbed one of those seats and just relaxed and had drinks and appetizers til we got to see the fireworks. We weren't really there for the fireworks, we just wanted a window seat for the view and be able to relax with some drinks and the stuff. It all worked out nicely...you have to remember though that the amount of people being there will be a factor of being able to get a table...so you have to take that into consideration. Then again, after your drinks/sushi you can always head out to the observation deck which is a treat in itself. :3dglasses
