Hi, if there isn’t any reservations available can we just try our luck to pop
in to see if there’s a table for 2 Available?

I'm basing this on the My Disney Experience app, not on the My Personal Experience... experience.

California Grill has a "Join Walk-Up List" button. That means that you could get on the list and wait for a table.

The walk-up lists can fill. When they do, no one else can join the list.

Thanks! Where is the “ join walk up button”?

In the My Disney Experience app, search for California Grill (that's the quickest way to get to a specific page).

Directly below the photo and restaurant name / location, you will see some buttons. "Join Walk-Up List" is the third from the right.

There isn't anything good to say about the overpriced prix fixe dinner or the lousy service that comes with it. If you can get seats at the bar or lounge, stay there!

Clearly you had a totally different experience than we had.
We have been there twice since they reopened with the prix-fixe menu. Had wonderful food and wine pairings and excellent service both times.
Having dined at many excellent restaurants with Prix-Fixe menus, their prices were not out of line.

Will they serve you food at the bar or lounge? Ty

There really isn't a lounge area any more. It is tables for the restaurant.
The bar area seats about 10 or so, but you can get the full menu there. There are no ADRs for the bar, just first come.

Didn't want to start a whole new thread -- I had a question about the dress code. My husband is packing -- does he need to have pants or are dressy shorts acceptable?

From Disney's page for California Grill:

"This restaurant is a Disney Signature Dining experience offering fine dining with a distinctly magical flair. Guests are expected to dress accordingly in attire that respects the restaurant's sophisticated and upscale aesthetic. Clothing should be clean, neat and in good condition. Please no swimwear."

You will see attire of all sorts at CG. Dressy shorts are just fine (and what I wear there).
Absolutely true. Including some wearing what is supposed to be against the dress code.
I usually will wear pants and a polo shirt (business casual). My wife will wear a nice dress, slacks or similar.
